I am so thankful for the team at Valley Vet!! I brought my cat in that had been missing at a local campground for a month and a half. She was emaciated, and had a few injuries around her face. They were able to fit me in, and gave her the best care possible. The fee was very reasonable, and she is doing great now. Best possible outcome! read more

I've brought both my dogs here for years. Very disappointed in how rude, unhelpful, and inconsiderate the lady at the front desk was. The nurses and Dra were pleasant and helpful, but the awful woman sitting at the front desk doesn't fit in with the rest. Doesn't seem she likes animals or people for that matter.... read more

Absolutely the worst to fill prescriptions. They have the meds, they tell me to give them a 48 hour notice but because I had filled it previously at Costco they want a week. Even before switching to Costco they couldn't fill in 48 hours. Really not understanding the process and when I ask for advice on how to get meds from them in a timely manner I get the run around. It's Friday at noon and they can't guarantee them by Wednesday or any other day next week. So my choices are be frustrated and just keep my fingers crossed they will be filled in time or go back to Costco where the prices are now more. My Prescription is current, they have the meds in the building... so why make me wait? I'll run out of pills by Wednesday, which they seem to not care. After spending over 4K the last 8 months I'm completely disappointed! read more

We had already established care for our dog here and they have been excellent. when we adopted a rescue that came from an abuse situation and brought her in for her very first visit to a vet ever, they could not have been any kinder to her ! I have taken a few of my dogs to these guys, they seem OK for just routine shots and check ups, but its been my experience they can't be counted on after hours, and will not work with you at all if your in a financial bind. There have been 3 times over the past year when I have needed an on call vet after 5 PM. all 3 times I was told the vet on call was sick. I ended up making the drive to an emergency vet out of town, for non-emergency things. There have been a number of times when I have brought my dogs in for a routine exam, they comment on how nice they look, well behaved, clean teeth, shiny coats, etc. And then they ask me what I feed, and I tell them, and they automatically tell me I should switch to their Science Diet food. They tell me all about how my feeding my dogs on the food I am is dangerous and bad. (Just after telling me what wonderful shape they are in, and how healthy they are??) I really dislike that they push a commercialized crap kibble dog food on you, and are so disrespectful to you if you choose not to feed it. This last time in there, a woman and her daughter brought in their dog who had been attacked by another dog, and was badly injured, and they just didn't have all the money up front to pay for all his expenses. These guys wouldn't budge one inch to help these people out, they kept shoving some pamphlet at them about Care Credit (a loan place) and saying they couldn't help arrange payments or anything else. Bottom line.. an OK place if you don't need anything other then a routine exam, shots, etc. But for a little bit of gas money, and a little more time out of my day, I would rather go to Redding or Anderson for vet care. read more

We have a elderly lab who has had some chronic issues that we have seen other vets, lots of visits, and money spent to be told "it's just old dog things" or made out like we were paranoid. But after seeing Dr. Fox we finally have answers. She was thorough, listened to our concerns and went above and beyond to help our sweet girl. read more

This was my second visit to Valley Vet. I brought my cat here once about a month ago for emergency care and they were able to see her immediately. Since I'm new to the area I decided to bring my cat back for her yearly exam. Bad idea. The vet and vet tech who did the exam were nice enough. My cat is quite aggressive and they managed to complete the exam with minimal rough handling, something I appreciate. The office staff was the rudest I'd ever encountered. I was waiting for an estimate for some dental work that they felt needed to be done (which took far longer than it should have, it was a slow day), so I pulled out my checkbook to pay. The girl behind the desk handed me a pen, so obviously she knows I'm writing a check. I finish writing the check and then hand it to her. She then proceeds to start trying to bully me into using my debit card. I explain to her while I do have my debit card, I've already filled out the check so that would be how I am paying today. If there was a problem with me writing a check, why didn't she tell me when she HANDED ME A PEN TO FILL IT OUT? Then she wants my drivers license. OK, I have no objection to that, especially since I hadn't written a check here before. I give it to her and she photocopies it. Then she DEMANDS my social security number. Obviously I'm confused by this and tell her no, I'm not permitting her to write my social security number on my check with my full name, address, phone number, checking account number with an attached copy of my driver's license. That's an identity thieve's wet dream. Why don't I just write my mother's maiden name on there as well? She then proceeds to tell me that's their policy. I tell her that I've never once in my life had anyone ask me for my SSN when paying with check and she wasn't going to get it. She then proceeds to be increasingly rude and telling me that if billing didn't approve it without my SSN I'd have to come back and pay with my debit! Outrageous! Needless to say I will /never/ be returning. read more

I now take both my dogs here! Im very happy with the service and the price! Both Drs are great! They are both very caring and very through! My one husky is alway so scared when I would take him to the old vet he would run to corner of the room and lay down and not move! First time at the new office he was scared and didn't want to go into the room, but once in there he did great! he walked around the room and was very good! My dogs are like my kids and I fault so good when I left there, just knowing that my dog was scared! I appreciate all them there! All very nice! read more

My whole family brings their animals to valley vet and we will always continue doing so. They are all so polite and never pushy or rude. My dog hurt herself on a Saturday and they were all booked that day, so instead of brushing me off they had me talk to a vet and then call back with updates on her condition. You can tell everyone in that office loves animals and isn't just trying to rob you dry of all your money. They genuinely care and will always provide the best, honest care for your animals. read more

We have several animals and have been using Valley Vet for over 4 years. When we had to have our older dog put down they were caring and compassionate -- they helped us navigate through a very difficult time. They even made a donation in our pet's name to UC Davis. I have never found a vet anywhere that allows payment plans - as the other person who posted mentioned about a downside to Valley Vet. I would love to have a payment plan--but they don't seem to exist? At any rate Valley Vet is wonderful~ read more

I have taken cats to this clinic for years. They have always been friendly and compassionate, and have taken good care of my critters. They were very helpful as one cat I had with kidney disease eventually succumbed to the ailment. They have also been very helpful with my other cat who had cancer and had to have one leg amputated - at 18 she is doing well. I also wish they had a payment system because many people in this area are of low income status and therefore may avoid taking a sick or injured pet for what could be a life-saving visit. I know it is hard for a business to do, but there should be some low-income option. read more

I have a rescue dog that is 65 lbs of trouble. She is scared of any vets and needs to be sedated to do any kind of procedure which includes shots. I took her to my local vet and they simply did not want to deal with my aggressive dog and were very unhelpful. I didn't know where to turn, how was I to get her a rabies shot? On a lucky chance I called Valley Veterinary Clinic and they said they would help me. I brought my dog in and she was all I had warned them about, she is so scared I was afraid she would have a stroke but they took the time, which was more than an hour, to get the job done and together we managed to get her sedated and they were able to clean her teeth, give her the vaccinations, and clip her nails for half the price quoted by the other vet. The best part is that they really seemed to care about my pet and I felt confident about her care. The care was great, the price was right and driving a little farther was way worth it. I will now transfer all of my animals care to this facility and recommend fully. read more

My kitty was sick and all of the other vets couldn't get my baby in for an urgent vist, but Valley Vet got her in right away. They reassured me that my cat would be fine but she had an infection that needed to be treated. Everyone in the office treated us well and seemed to be very sympathetic towards my sick kitty. We have been going to Valley vet for years, I am beyond dissapointed/mad right now. We have a dog that got stung by a bee on the roof of his mouth and he collapsed and lost bowel function as well as throwing up. We live right around the corner and decided when he lost bowel function it was serious enough he needed to be seen. We were sitting outside and he couldn't even stand up. I called and was told that they had appointments back to back and couldn't see our little guy, 10lbs btw. Wouldn't even come out to check on him. Said we needed to go to a walk-in or emergency clinic in anderson or maybe Redding! We live right around the corner in red bluff. Needless to say without their help he is doing okay now, but seriously, an appointment couldn't be rescheduled. I know if it was me with an appointment for one of our pups, if there was an emergency with someone else's dog I would have given my appointment up in a heartbeat. I guess now I will be getting all their records and finding a new vet!!!!! read more

Love everyone here! More importantly, my animals love everyone here. The staff are friendly, helpful, and great to deal with. They are more than happy to share their knowledge and don't judge. I have used Valley Vet many times for my both my cats and dogs. I have always had a positive experience with them. My visits have ranged from the mundane shot/check-up to the heart-wrenching times when I have had to make the decision to euthaniize, and I have had nothing but compassionate,caring and coureteous service from all the staff. What I really appreciate about them is that they will give me all my options for treatment or recommend a product but I never felt pressured to have a procedure done or to buy a product. I can't say that has been my experiences with vets I have gone to in Redding or Anderson. One of my dogs had a lengthy illness and they even priced out the medicine at all the pharmacies in town to find me the best price. Two times I have needed service after hours, one for a rattlesnake bite and one for stitches, and both times I have had no problem with receiving service. The snake bite kept us there very late into the night but I was grateful that I could bring him home instead of leaving him there for the night. I've recommended them to my friends looking for a vet and they have had good experiences also. If they had half stars I would give them a 41/2. read more

I seriously just want to let everyone know how UNBELIEVABLY AMAZING this vet is. I take all three of my animals (2 cats, 1 dog) to valley and seriously, I don't know why anyone would go else where. First of all, everyone is seriously so nice and sympathetic for what you're going through. I mean, cmon!?? If your anything like me, your animals are your babies and you want them to be treated with the upmost respect and care. There has been multiple occasions where I've talked to a vet tech on the phone for close to a half hour about what's going on with my cat/or dog and never once has any of them ever been rude and cut me off.. or didn't listen to what I had to say. (Sometimes you just gotta vent) Valley Vet just plain and simple has amazing hospitality!!!! My kitty got super super sick and I had taken her to the Emergency hospital in Redding where they treated her but what she was given did not help. I finally got in to see Dr. Hamilton (who by the way saw me on an emergency visit on very short notice) who was SO KIND AND PROFESSIONAL and got my kitty exactly what she needed!!! Not even 2 full days after I literally thought she may not survive another day, she has made a completely 180 and is looking so much better!! Eating, drinking, following me around the house everywhere (mostly because she wants to go outside but can't while she's fighting her infection lol). I am seriously overjoyed with how much better she is doing and I have Valley Veternarian clinic in Red Bluff to thank for that!!! Thank you guys for everything you do! I have used Valley Vet off and on for over 20 yrs - NOT any more!! Called to request a quote on what a blood test would run for my dog and was told by the front desk (Gerri) that they could not give me a price/estimate until I come in for an office visit. REALLY???? How do you know how much money to have available for your visit if they can't give you a standardized lab test price......very disappointed. I took my dog here for the first 3 yrs of his life. The doctors were very nice but the office staff are horrible! I had him stay there for the weekend and he had all the extra shots that they demand for staying in a kennel. Then that same week I go in and ask if I can buy some heart worm because I forgot during his yearly appt. and the front girl flat out refuses to sell me any. She stated I had to wait until his next appt. She wouldn't budge and wouldn't let me talk to any of the doctors. So I said I wouldn't be back and they lost a customer. I haven't been back since! If they had some new staff I would come back but it looks like not much has changed. read more

Horrible place.... I have told everyone how They overdosed my Lab with an anti inflammatory and they were totally heartless careless about it . My dog was a great dog the best I have ever had of 6 yrs and 3 days after medication pred 20mg 1000ct #39041 he was dead over a ear infection I looked it up on the net he had all the symptoms of that drugs over dose. I WILL NEVER FORGIVE THEM FOR THAT!! I hope the place shuts down!! It was very devastating to me especially when I tried to call them and told them my dog was on the floor bloated they said they only work on cows and horses on weekends Do you know what it's like to try pack a 100 plus lb dog because he couldn't even stand up It was so heart wrenching!! ..so I had to take him 30 miles to Redding because he was so bad off I had to put him down. He was totally healthy except for his ears and these SOB's gave a slow death of a bleeding spleen. He did not deserve that!!! If I could of sued them for emotional duress and pain and suffering I would . BUt there is nothing I can do and won't bring back my sweet Sarge I even thought at first that maybe the vet did it on purpose because he was looking down in his ear and my Sarge yelped at him he didn't look pleased but my dog would never bite anyone ..I hope and pray it wasn't intentional but I have learned nothing surprises me anymore, It has left a horrible pit in my stomach I will live with for the rest my life . read more
