The staff is always so nice even when they are super busy. They take their time and explain everything that's going on with your pet.

Dr. Troxell and her assistant Anna helped me so much, just by being calm and compassionate towards layla, talking gently and letting her know she wouldn't be in any pain anymore. My layla absolutely hated going to the vet and allowing her to go gracefully at home, calm and in her favorite window, on her blankey in my arms was the only comfort I could find. There's nothing easy about saying goodbye but Dr. Troxell helped so much. Thank you for honoring my fur baby and letting her go with dignity and grace.

When we had to make the most difficult decision, Dr. Keira Troxell, DMV,CVA was there for us. Dr. Troxell came to our home shortly after we called her. She is soft spoken, kind and gentle. She is compassionate and explained how this experience would look like. She allowed us to hold our sweet Garfield as we all pet him for the last time. Dr. Troxell was so extremely thoughtful with everything she did, her words, her movements her true love for animals and their family is present in her care. As hard as this situation can be, no one could make it as comfortable, compassionate and personal as Dr. Troxell. As we held Garfield one last time, Dr. Troxell simply and quietly said goodbye and showed herself out. She allowed us to stay with our sweet guy. Dr. Troxell left our home and we felt complete as if Dr. Troxell was the angel of mercy. Thank you so much Dr. Troxell. You are the Saint for all animals.

Dr. Conner at Constant Companion was an absolute blessing during the hardest time of my life…read more My dog was diagnosed with a terminal neurological condition two months ago. She was not in pain, but her condition changed minute to minute--sometimes worse, sometimes better--depending on progression and medication response. Deciding when to let her go was incredibly difficult. What I knew without hesitation was that, due to her severe stress at the vet, I did not want her final moments to be anywhere but home. Unfortunately, securing an at‑home appointment isn't always easy, and my biggest fear was that her condition would suddenly decline and I wouldn't be able to get someone to my house in time--forcing her last moments to be spent frightened at a clinic. Dr. Conner completely removed that fear and stress. She worked around our needs, scheduled appointments with incredible flexibility, and canceled or adjusted them without guilt or pressure. Her number one concern was always my little girl's comfort and dignity. That flexibility gave me the greatest gift anyone could offer in this situation--the ability to make the right decision at the right time, without the added stress of trying to force such a deeply personal moment into an external calendar beyond my control. Dr. Conner's compassion, patience, and understanding meant everything to us. I will forever be grateful. I used copilot to finalize my thoughts but the above is 100 percent accurate reflection of my experience.

I was frantic, calling everywhere to find an affordable cremation after a $900 bill. I found them; not knowing my mom has brought our pets in the past. You felt the heartfelt compassion when they opened the door to carry him in. They asked if we would like to spend time with him before paperwork. The room was set up so beautifully. A beautiful flower was placed beside his resting body. It meant so much to know our boy was finally taken care of by someone outside of his family. They filled two keychains for his brother's collars as well. Thank you for caring for all of these babies crossing over the rainbow bridge. God bless your staff.

From the moment I arrived, their kindness and professionalism were unmistakable. They treated my pup - and me - with genuine respect, patience, and empathy. Every step of the process was handled with such care that I never once doubted he was in loving hands. We opted for the witnessed cremation, which was incredibly hard, but knowing I never left Simba's side and took home his ashes, all within 17 hours of his passing brought me a sense of peace. In a moment when I felt completely heartbroken, they were a bright light. I am deeply grateful that a place like this exists, where our beloved fur babies are given the same dignity and thoughtful farewell that humans receive. It brought me comfort I didn't know I could feel on a day like that. I can't thank them enough for helping me honor my boy in the most meaningful way.

I had to bring my cat Zack in on a Saturday night before Easter after finding him covered in blood…read moreand urine. Every other clinic was closed, and VCA Valley Oak told me to come in right away. That decision saved his life. Zack has some unique medical challenges, and I knew going in this might not be straightforward. Dr. Wilson took the time to fully assess him, consulted with UC Davis, and came back with a clear, workable plan while still giving me options. I never felt rushed or pushed in one direction. The entire team was incredible. They encouraged me to visit, kept me updated morning and night, and I always knew how Zack was doing. I could tell he was being cared for not just medically, but emotionally. He's a very social cat, and it meant a lot to know he wasn't alone back there. What stood out most to me was how much everyone genuinely cared about him. One of the staff at the front desk told me she wished she could just go back and cuddle him all day, and when I spoke with one of the doctors later, she mentioned that people had been asking about him and wanted to know how he was doing. That meant more to me than I can say. Emergency vet care is expensive and stressful, and I know that's where a lot of negative reviews come from. But in my experience, this team was compassionate, skilled, and deeply invested in my cat's outcome. Zack is home now, recovering and very much himself again. I'm incredibly grateful to Dr. Wilson and the entire team.

Ollie was eventually euthanized -- and he should have been that day. Instead, their decision to refuse care prolonged his suffering, during which his condition worsened and he developed pneumonia on top of the illness he was already battling. That outcome was entirely preventable. What hurts the most is knowing his pain was extended unnecessarily. This clinic had the chance to show compassion and failed. Their silence afterward only reinforces that they do not take responsibility for the harm their decisions cause.

I was indeed interrupting their computer time! These two need retrained on front desk proper protocol... I asked about dropping off two kitties that showed up and they bluntly told me there was a 3 month waiting list. No interest in me or my newly found kitties. When I asked what I could do they said don't feed them. WHAT!!! and yes I am yelling!!! Both kitties were already starving and just bones with skin. GET up out of your chair, walk over to me and smile, give a warm greeting, act like you care, volunteer info, Ask about the situation, don't make the customer drag it out of you!!! Even if there was a computer glitch you were working on ONE of you should have stepped forward. No excuses. Computer at the front desks, I would think are for related work at the work place. I really had to turn and just walk away at the insolence and entitlement they dishing out on me, and now I see poor treatment of others as I read yelp. Where is the suprivisor? I know 12 year olds that could have handled that office and my request much better and with a smile too! I realize that they couldn't take the kittens but to deliver the news in such a way, NEVER Again, don't walk, run from this place...That being said, Hubby and I adopted a 116 pound 8 month old dog over 15 years ago and she was one of the doggie loves our lives, 12 years we loved her, and the poeple that were there were the best! I expected the same quality, what a disappointment!!!
