She felt that amputation of the left leg and shoulder could give him good quality of life and also a few more good years. Although I pride myself on being knowledgeable re. many rabbit medical issues I had never dealt with amputation before. I was concerned not only about mobility and pain issues but the effect of such a "big" surgery on a sensitive rabbit. I balked at the surgery but Dr. Maloney's quiet confident demeanor allowed me to place my trust in her. On March 19th 2025 Dylan had the surgery. What happened next is still unbelievable to me. Dylan was eating hay right after the surgery , needed extra pain meds for only about 1days post surgery , was active and mobile almost immediately. In other words he recovered right away. From my discussion with other rabbit owners on The Facebook group "Tripod Bunnies'" this was an amazing recovery. Dr Maloney told me in post op appt. that she is using her own new anesthesia technique with rabbit surgery by intubating the rabbit. She also uses lot of pain meds that first day. I can tell that Dr. Maloney doesn't just plod through a routine like many but is using an inquiring creative mind and brilliant surgical skills to better the outcome for our pets and us. Is someone sends you to UWL vet school, check with Winona Vet first. You may not have to drive hundreds of miles and pay exorbitant fees after all. Thank you , thank you thank you! I was traveling from CO to Utica after my mom got very ill and decided to bring my German shepherd with me. He started acting off when we got to Utica, so I called the emergency line for Lewiston vet clinic, we were met at the clinic by a younger male vet. My dog was in distress, and was clearly in pain. The vet did an ultrasound and noted that his spleen was displaced, and gave no other information. He gave the dog pain medication, and the dog was going to stay overnight. Well, the vet went home apparently, and when he got back in the morning...he said my dog was in very bad shape and that they tried to save him but were unable to. So the dog was sick, they saw an abnormality on the ultrasound, and then the vet decided to leave the dog alone rather than providing care. That is literally your job. My dog DIED, scared and alone in your clinic. They also couldn't be bothered to call me when they said that they would, so I ended up calling them only to be told the terrible news of Dracos passing.

My pet was not properly cared for at this vet. My cat needed stitches because of an electrocution…read moreand needed a cone to prevent him from scratching his wounds. They told me when to take off the cone and when I did he took off the stitches that they did which means they were not ready to come off and now my poor cat will be permanently disfigured due to their negligence!! This was told to me IN PERSON!!! What's worse is the doctor who worked on my act would not take accountability and said I should have gotten a check up on him when the nurses told me my cat didn't really need a check up!! I stilled tried to make a check up just in case but unfortunately things were too late! They were also very rude!! Since this happened in person they are welcome to check camera however I doubt they will considering everything that has happened so far... I did get a call from the owner and all she did was argue with me??? Trying to say how she doesn't think anyone would do or say this! She was quite argumentative about it. She also kept talking over me during the conversation. All she cared about is protecting her image and did nothing to fix this. Also the owner saying: "I think" IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH!! You can't just call and be like I don't think anyone would do this when it DID in fact happen? Do not trust this hospital they do not care about your pets they only care about their paycheck. If they do anything wrong they WONT take accountability and will deflect!!!!! Update: I did change my review about some charges because I was wrong about certain ones I was told I was charged for certain things but wasn't. The owner keeps putting up my original review and fighting about those charges if I changed my review it's cuz I saw I was wrong about it??? Anyways she is being very passive aggressive about it and rude to me!! I have never seen anyone act towards people like this over a review!
