Attn.RABBIT -Owners My 9 yr old mini Rex rabbit, Dylan, had been favoring his left foreleg and was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in early March 2025 by Dr. Maloney. She felt that amputation of the left leg and shoulder could give him good quality of life and also a few more good years. Although I pride myself on being knowledgeable re. many rabbit medical issues I had never dealt with amputation before. I was concerned not only about mobility and pain issues but the effect of such a "big" surgery on a sensitive rabbit. I balked at the surgery but Dr. Maloney's quiet confident demeanor allowed me to place my trust in her. On March 19th 2025 Dylan had the surgery. What happened next is still unbelievable to me. Dylan was eating hay right after the surgery , needed extra pain meds for only about 1days post surgery , was active and mobile almost immediately. In other words he recovered right away. From my discussion with other rabbit owners on The Facebook group "Tripod Bunnies'" this was an amazing recovery. Dr Maloney told me in post op appt. that she is using her own new anesthesia technique with rabbit surgery by intubating the rabbit. She also uses lot of pain meds that first day. I can tell that Dr. Maloney doesn't just plod through a routine like many but is using an inquiring creative mind and brilliant surgical skills to better the outcome for our pets and us. Mom brought her support dog in at 830am to have dental cleaning done, they gave her two shots of anesthesia within 15m of each other. Called her at 1030am to come get her, when she got there the dog was barely walking, couldn't stay focused, and was breathing hard. When she asked about it they said it was normal and that she will probably sleep all day. Got home at 12pm and she was still the same way! She texted his number (cause that's supposedly the only way to get ahold of him and heard nothing) but 5:30pm the dog was dead! When I raced over, I called him and he kept telling me he couldn't explain why and he told me he only gave her one shot but the paperwork even says 2! Plus it says they had to bag her 2x per minute cause her blood oxygen wasn't staying above 85...wouldn't you fucking stop!? We will be having an autopsy done and when it comes back that they killed her we will be contacting a lawyer and the board! NEVER TAKE YOUR DOGS HERE! 1 IN 300 DOGS DIE FROM DENTAL WORK...HOW IS IT THAT OUR DOG ENDS UP BEING THAT 1!? read more

We brought our new baby bunnies to be spayed and neutered in October. Dr. Maloney did a fabulous job and Kenzie was amazing in helping us know what to do and what to watch for once we got them home. When I let Kenzie know that Brinley wasn't eating, she gave us Critical Care and clear instructions on how to use it. Binx healed fine, but Brinley unfortunately developed an infection at her incision. Dr. Maloney contacted me numerous times, checking on Brinley and how she was responding to the antibiotics. More than just a courtesy call/text, I could tell that she genuinely loves animals and wanted to make sure that she was recovering and doing well. Technical skills and knowledge are obviously very important in choosing a Veterinarian and Clinic. For us, compassion and love for animals is just as crucial. The hour long drive to/from La Crosse is well worth it to have such amazing care for our babies. We're so happy to have found a knowledgeable rabbit vet in the area! We have a 12 year old Chocolate Labrador named Lambeau. She is a sweet dog, but developed Laryngeal Paralysis (LP). She was in distress breathing and we need to make a decision - either have a very expensive surgery at U of Wisconsin or put her down. We labored about the decision and joined a Laryngeal Paralysis (LP) Support Group" on Facebook. Someone in our area had the same situation and had Dr. Maloney perform the tie back surgery at a much lower cost and it did wonders for their dog and situation. I contacted Winona Veterinary Hospital and communicated with Dr. Maloney and felt comfortable proceeding. It was a same day surgery and she recovered very well and can now breath without distress - even when it is warmer out. Dr. Maloney did a wonderful job and the procedure did not break the bank. By having this procedure done we were able to enjoy having Lambeau around hopefully a few more years. I cannot say enough as we are very happy with the outcome. read more

Just walking distance from my house, this vet is great! Years back it...well...wasn't my first pick..The old vet? or nurse? was very very rude..I have never been so mad! We stopped going there for quite some time..After my late dog, became very very ill...It was time we had to put him down...They got us in on our last minute call. They I don't believe have ever met this dog but made him very comfortable and did what needed to be done..They also helped us feel a lot more at ease...Ok, ok...less depressing material needed....Shortly after that day I got a new puppy...I took him there, and was VERY VERY pleased at how nice the staff was and how very helpful! He had some kind of parasite or something and the vet was extremely informative on the matter! He then developed a cough, went in got some medicine to help...it didn't get better...went in again, was not charged for another look over, just for the medicine which was nice! Now my dog, almost two years old, is kind of..well a major cost...He has pretty wicked allergies (though getting much better) and has developed some nasty cataracts! I won't go into the entire story...but with all of this stress my vet has been so helpful! I can not thank her enough for all of the super help!! I really recommend this vet! 100%!!! What happened years ago was just a fluke, but things are so much better now! Every business will have that "hiccup", theirs was past! Its all thumbs up and smiles from me! read more
