They never return phone calls. This was my favorite dentist too. Why is the office like this even after years of being a patient?

Five stars to Ritchie for going above and beyond to make sure I had a good experience before I even left the dental exam room. I voiced that I felt like there was still build up on my bottom teeth and he made sure that my issue was handled. On a side note, I came in one day looking to make an appointment, all of their front desk staff was on lunch but he took the time to talk to me and offer a business card so I could make an appt after they returned from their break. Needed an emergency appointment as my crown had flipped off and my dentist in LaJolla was out of town. I work in the area of Spring Valley and called them and was able to be seen quickly. The super nice front desk ladies and very helpful. The dental tech was also kind and helpful. Met the dentist and he saved my crown and fixed it right up for a minimal fee, like $11.00. Saved me time with the drive to LaJolla and the mental headache or the traffic. Highly recommend. read more

The doctor is great but the unfriendly front desk is the worst ever. They don't know how to do their job right. Fail to communicate with the patient about the appointment scheduling; not address the concerns properly. They would not admit that they made a mistake! I am about to pay over $4000 on fixing my mouth (to another dentist) because this dental office didn't do their job. I should have never trusted this clinic! It all started with one tooth. Before I moved to San Diego, my family dentist called me in for a cavity filling. I was already in the process of moving so I figured I'll get it done with the new dentist. When I arrived here, I told them I was up for a cavity filling and they said everything is fine, there was no cavity. They suggested I should get my crown from my previous root canal done. As they started poking around, my one molar started hurting. I told them about it. I even said it could be the one that my previous dentist found (as my previous never told me which tooth had the decay). They kept saying I had no cavity. They gave me 2 crowns and even after my crown check-ups, I told them my tooth was aching and they kept brushing it off to the fact that I have new crowns and I'm not used to it. They insisted I shouldn't even feel anything because my nerves are dead. Well, my one tooth in between the two root canal teeth still has the nerves in tact so I'm assuming that's where I'm feeling the pain. Again, they continue to say it's nothing and it's probably my mouth adjusting to the new crowns. Fast forward to three years later, I had to move again and I recently just got my regular check-up and on the first visit, the new dentist asked me if I have pain on my upper left tooth. They immediately spotted the cavity even before I mentioned the pain! It has been ignored for 3 years so now, they have to do a root canal, hence more crowns, which is what's costing me a lot of money, despite having a great dental insurance plan! Even though I had regular cleaning with this clinic, somehow, the 2 crowns they had planted, grew cavities! I guess this whole time, they didn't really clean my teeth/gums properly because now I have Periodontal diseases. I always thought that they weren't doing their job with teeth cleaning because they always finish in less than 30 minutes. One time Dr. Casabang poked around my teeth and in 10 minutes (from walking in the clinic), my teeth cleaning was "done" and he rushed out the door right after. He didn't even talk to me about my teeth's health! In all my teeth cleaning life, they're the only clinic who never flossed my teeth, never made me rinse, just bare scraping. I was under Tri-Care and they kept offering these night guards that I could get "for free", saying I should get one every year. They're so concerned with my teeth grinding but they never cleaned my teeth properly. THREE years later, I'm now paying the price. Literally, with thousands of dollars! I now have to pay over $4,000 to fix my teeth/gums issues for not being properly taken care of, despite regularly going to them for "cleaning" and "proper check-up". DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE WITH YOUR DENTAL HEALTH! P.S. Super friendly people, so I hate that I have to write this long review, but it must be shared. If you've read this far, please consider a different dentist. They're amazing staff, but they won't take care of your dental health properly. read more

I highly recommend Valley View Dental. I particularly love Dr. Peña and Wendy (but entire staff is great!) they always make our dental visits as pleasant as they could possibly be. I used to take my children to a famous dental office that "specializes" in pediatric dentistry and had a terrible experience and quite frankly never felt welcomed as we do at Valley View Dental. I have to say that Dr. Casibang and his crew really have it together when it comes to dentistry. They always greet you with a smile, very knowledgeable of your insurance and what your co-pay will be upon your visit. They are also great with kids. My friends bring the kids here and they enjoy the visit. There is FREE parking in the parking lot and they are located right next to 7-eleven. Make sure to keep your appointment or call to change it if you can't make it because you will be charged a no show fee. But they do call the day before your appointment to remind you and if you need to reschedule then your in the clear. Also, if you don't need to see them for another six months then they also send a card in the mail to remind you of your upcoming appointment. By the way they... at the end of your check up visit they give you a cool travel kit that comes with a toothbrush, dental floss, mouth wash and toothpaste all in a nifty ziplock case. read more

Let me start off by saying the Dr was good but the staff was bad. I felt like I was in a conveyor belt from the beginning. One of my "temporary" root canals lasted from me leaving the office to me making it home. I missed 2 appointments with calling and letting them know in advance which they were fine with but then I had another root canal set up and a family member passed away in the night before, they called and said I did a no call no show so I immediately called them back during the appointment time I had to explain why I wasn't there (it was the farthest thing from my mind at the time but I wanted to be considerate) the staff member on the phone had the nerve to tell me "I can't count how many times you have done this" well I'm sorry my family member decided to pass away and ruin your revenue for the day. Additionally when I had my first root canal done and 2 teeth pulled I wasn't given/offered any antibiotics or pain medication which I found very strange as well you would think you wouldn't want your clients to get an infection wouldn't you? read more
