I have had physician's assistance before in prior areas that I've lived. I've always been able to trust them & their level of expertise. So when I went in for my first experience with Joel James, a physician's assistant, I was immediately happy with the response. He was cordial, professional, and he asked questions as he examined me that showed real depth of understanding of what I might be going through or need. He made appropriate observations that resonated with past observations. The office staff from Morgan at the desk to the assistance in the rooms, were absolutely excellent, friendly, adept in their procedures. They had to do a biopsy. She gave me the routine spiel about what to expect. Then she went for it-- deadening of the area. It was was flawless. I hardly felt it. And even though they had to cauterize it afterwards. Even that first night was a dream. I know it could've gone south by the explanation of the helper. But it did not. I later, was supposed to supply all of the medicines that I was currently on. Which I defty did, but it was not reflected in their portal. I don't like portals. I like balconies on cruise ships, but never a stinking portal. And this was one that I obviously really did not like because I took a lot of time to include all the medicines. But I have to tell you even though I went back within an hour and provided a hard copy of everything that I currently was on, and Morgan put it into the record. Joel called me at about 4:30 and questioned me on the medicines. And he explained beautifully what I needed to do, and what medicines I needed to use, and what I could expect. I am so happy. I made the change to this particular branch. He prescribed specific medications to accommodate the distress areas that I focused on. He listened! He made me feel comfortable with his care, knowledge, and personal communication's skills. He noted what I had said. This is not what I have normally found among many that I have gone to. I would highly recommend this office. I would highly recommend this Physician's Assistant and his office staff. I feel that I have scored highly in this find.

I called the number provided in an automated call and got "Chelsea, your AI assistant." While I was able to address one issue with "Chelsea," the technology mimics annoying vocal qualities of humans while it "looks up options." The digital video fry and "uhmmmms" and "okaaaaaaaaaaaaaays" and let's seeees" are obnoxious and don't make the long wait easier. 2. I got transferred by "Chelsea" to the Gearhart Office and waited several minutes as I went from "number 3 in line" to "number 1 in line," waited several more minutes, and then got a recording saying there was no one to take my call. So, after more than 15 minutes of waiting, I left a message that I need to cancel an appointment there. However, until I know for sure they GOT my message, I didn't want to risk getting charged for a missed appointment I tried to cancel. 3. I went to the patient portal and logged in. Next to my appointment info, it listed a different number for that office (503-905-9006), but no way to cancel the appointment. So, I tried that number, but it was for the Lake Oswego office.(Why have a patient portal if it provides incorrect information AND no options to take action on an appointment or to contact the office? The messaging portion glitched and gave me a bunch of gibberish.) 4. I tried calling the Gearhart office again, waited as I went from number 5 to number 1 in line, only to be told there was no one to take my call. I left another message while in tears for frustration at wasted time and the clear evidence that this company is prosperous enough that they don't care about hiring actual human beings or offering timely and responsive customer service. 5. I called again and used the AI assistant to cancel the appointment--I hope, but who knows for sure?

Never received a response which wasn't surprising after reading others experience from this business in different locations. Second call to this business and an older lady was very abrupt not letting me talk at all and only would say I see you have insurance and they would pay all for visit. I knew this wasn't true due to if they coded this as an in-office visit or surgery (in office) which would be freezing a skin growth. I still could get a word it and finally told I knew that wasn't true & I was ending the call. Be careful if you use this office and suggest getting a written quote.
