I called ahead to ask if insurance pays for the frame she did say they do but only up to 75$ she however didn't tell me that they don't carry nothing under $75 so my daughter and I left without glasses and .my baby had a sad face ...I am kind of broke I cannot afford it I'm looking for a place where I can get the exam and frames covered by my insurance I wish they told me that before we wasted money going out there. Most of our past experiences and memories in interacting with an optometrist are sitting in the "chair" behind a closed door for a short period of time and trying to quickly decide which is better between A or B and between B and C. Then, we are rushed out of the examination room to choose our frames. And, we do not see the doctor again until 1 or 2 years later. But, this is not the case when you have an appointment with Dr. Christine Liao. Prior to making my initial appoitment, I critically studied Dr. Liao's bio on her website because of my eye condition. Her credentials and medical background are very impressive. And, I was pleased to read her stellar Yelp Reviews which were all exclusively 5 star ratings. (A business/person has to be consistently outstanding to receive Yelp reviews like hers.) Unlike other optometry offices, Dr. Liao handles all of the testing including the pre-exam tests (which are usually performed by the optician or a optical tech assistant at other offices). During the exam, Dr. Liao is extremely thorough, calm and thoughtful. She carefully explains what she is doing. Since Dr. Liao recently opened this office, all of her equipment is new, clean and state of the art. Being tested with new equipment, undoubtedly, always makes any patient feel better and positive. After the exam, Dr. Liao will assist you with the frame selection. She is most patient and knows what types of frames will fit your face. She has a good "eye" in what she helps pick and suggests to you to narrow down your choices. And, her office has an excellent selection of quality frames. When you go to the national chain frames/glasses retailers, they all have a massive number of frames to choose from but they are not necessarily quality frames. These stores have abundant amount of frames just to fill their walls. My new frames arrived sooner than I expected and I was totally pleased with the results. With my eye condition, I have spent countless amount of time over the years with many different optometrists, opthamologists and optical med assistants. I would definitely rank Dr. Liao as one of the best optometrists who I have seen and would highly recommend her to to others. Went to Valley after another Optometry business failed to call me back to schedule an appointment. The doctor was very nice and extremely helpful in helping me select my glasses. She did not pressure me or attempt to sell me expensive frames. Because I had a very mild prescription, she let me decide whether or not I even wanted glasses or sunglasses. Dr. Liao was so awesome with our sons. We haven't been to the eye doctor in about 2 yrs and our youngest son's vision is pretty bad. I watch TV to fall asleep and broke off the leg of my last pair of glasses. Dr. Liao was able to get me an appointment very quickly. Even though I was stuck in traffic and over 30 minutes late, she was gracious about it. I told her I have a regular Kaiser ophthalmologist, but Dr. Liao still wanted to check everything besides my eyesight. I got the glasses in a week as promised. In short: Awesome experience. Dr.Christine Liao was great. 1. I arrived late on a Saturday at 6.15pm without an appt. Even though they are closing soon at 6.30pm, she was willing to do a full annual eye exam for me (which includes dilating the pupils etc). I was done only at 7.15pm, way past her closing time, and during the whole process, I was able to take my time to choose the frame I like, and she also spent time to explain the results of the exam to me. 2. I've been going to another optometrist for years for a full annual exam because when I did my lask, the doctor told me I needed a full exam annually. I just did it, and didn't question why. The previous optometrist didn't explain to me either, and just told me it all looks good. Dr. Liao actually explained to me that because of my high myopia, I'm at risk for retina detachment and that's why I needed a full exam yearly. She also explained to me what she was looking for, and what signs I need to watch out for to know if something is wrong. She's so knowledgeable and patient! 3. Good selection of frames. I hate to pay more than what VSP covers. And at my previous optometrist, they don't display anything that is within VSP's coverage limits and I always end up paying more. Here, there's a wide selection, and I was able to find a style I like what's covered by VSP! Definitely coming back here for my next exam. read more

1st time going to an optometrist. The prescriptions alone was confusing. I am glad they are open on a Sunday. The receptionist (Joseph I believe) was a nice guy. He wasn't familiar with the prices on the lenses and the options but he was nice. It is a very clean and organized showroom floor. Waiting for the Dr. To go over some options for my prescriptions. Will update once I finish speaking with the Dr.... UPDATE.. so I had the pleasure of speaking with Dr Liao and like instated earlier I had never been to an optometrist. All I can say she is very sincere and pleasant to work with. She explained everything I needed to know about lenses and how they work and what is covered and what isn't. At the end of the conversation I walked out without purchasing the prescriptions only because it was a bit more than I could afford at the moment. She was nice enough to let me know that she can pay a it now and the rest when I pick up the glasses. If I wasn't in a financial bind at the moment I definitely would have purchased the items. My son and I went to visit Dr. Christine for the first time a few months ago and had a great experience. Dr. Christine was very patient with my young son and explained a lot to me about his growing eyes. She made us feel very comfortable and was very professional. Although I did not plan to purchase glasses, her selection of frames was great and I walked out with a pair of designer frames and a supply of contacts. Dr. Christine is the 3rd eye doctor I've been to in the last 15 years. I finally decided I needed contacts so I went to her and I'm so glad I did. What was scary to me, turned out to be an amazing experience. She took SO MUCH time, making me comfortable with understanding my eyes and what the deal is with them. No rush, no pressure. I accomplished exactly what I needed. She wouldn't let me leave with contacts until I could prove I could put them in and out, at least once. She got me my trial contacts in ONE business day and was so sweet and caring. Her motto is clearly to "care" for her patients, not just make a buck swooshing them in and out and running a stressful company. It is relaxing, peaceful, incredibly clean too. I'm a patient for life. For toppers, she even is referring me to my medical provider, Kaiser to have a thorough exam, for a future - down the road possible surgery. Funny I had an eye exam less than 2 years ago at Kaiser and they never mentioned they foresaw a possible problem. Amazing. She's the best. If you don't go to her, you're missing out. Plus, if you wear glasses she has a great selection that I saw. Did I mention she made an appt. for me the day after I called, most places were 1-3 weeks out. read more

She told me things other doctors never even mentioned about my eyes and I'm 54, so I've been to a lot of eye doctors since I was 10.. I tried to use soft contacts a few years ago and didn't like them, She knew to recommend the right type and the fitting was perfect.
