Called Valley Scape and Irrigation for a quote on lights for the backyard about week and half ago. The lady I spoke over the phone was nice and all and mentioned they charge $195 to come. One gentleman came, nice guy, however this is what the issue was: He walked around probably for 10 minutes, showed me a light (average you can get at Amazon) and quoted me $8000 for 23 standard lights and if I wanted color is was going to be $15000 After this he charged his $195. I mentioned if I was getting the quote in writing which I didn't get a clear answer and off he went. I called another company, charged me $3500 for 25 color lights (better lights) and extra transformer and app to turn them on from your phone. My point: if you call Valley Scape, make sure you get another 2 or 3 quotes from other providers because they are probably going to take you for a ride if you are not careful. $3500 versus $15000 is a big difference. read more

Valleyscape's professionalism is so rare to find these days. Taylor came out and replaced our old leaking sprinkler manifold consisting of 5 valves. He replaced our sprinklers in our grass with new water efficient ones. And he added some extra sprinklers to our garden. They also installed new sod for us and laid down some fresh DG. Our yard looks great thanks to Valleyscape. As a small business owner that charges a premium for premium work, I appreciate when another business does premium work even if it's a little more expensive than what the other guys who are unlicensed/unskilled workers charge. Those companies just put bandaids on issues. You get what you pay for! And what we got from Valleyscape was an exceptionally professional, hard working, honest experience. We hired them previously to fix a leak in the sprinkler system requiring @ 4 hrs of labor digging etc and they did a good job for @ $400+. However just recently we had them check out the sprinkler control box isn't working right. I Highly Recommend using ValleyScape Irrigation!!! Taylor and the entire crew did amazing work, redoing my whole house irrigation system, front and back. The existing system was leaking everywhere including the valves and underground piping. They installed a new controller, control wiring, valves and all new distribution piping. They converted all the planting beds to drip irrigation and did a complete tune up on my lawns. Everything now works perfectly. The staff were very well trained, knowledgeable and really friendly. I first contacted Valleyscape a month ago to replace a failed outdoor lighting transformer and add 2 more lights. Taylor did a very neat and professional job. I has also requested an irrigation consultation. Taylor inspected my entire system and made some recommendations that I have implemented and am happy with the results. My next call to Valleyscape was yesterday after the water company cut my water off at the street due to a leak in my front yard "on the customer side". Once I explained the situation to Rachel she sprang into action! Working with Taylor she was able to get Taylor and a crew out that afternoon to stop the leak and turn the water back on. A few years since my last review of my experience with Valleyscape and I recently had another tech come out. This time I was less thrilled by the end result and the prices have gotten much higher. I had them come out because one of my automatic valves was leaking. They won't replace bad diaphragms or any other components that are causing the problem but will only replace the entire manifold. The tech replaced the manifold for one zone with a Rainbird unit for $200. Ouch... Guys: It's a big, competitive world out there and if you're going to stay in business you should learn a thing or two about how to provide service that is fairly priced and correct. read more

We moved into our house about 6 months ago and inherited a beautifully (and completely) dead strip of grass in our front yard. After troubleshooting ourselves a little bit, it was pretty obvious that our sprinkler system wasn't setup correctly and the mentioned area wasn't getting any water coverage. After checking off a few boxes ourselves, we opted to give the experts a call at ValleyScape. From the moment we reached out online, the crew was super helpful in getting us setup with a consultation and subsequent appt. The consultation was helpful. Note: they will charge you for the consultation if you don't opt to have them do the work they are recommending. On the original consultation appt. day Julian arrived on time and was really, really helpful. We walked through all of the issues we were having (front yard, back yard, and some lighting issues too). Julian helped us prioritize what issues were most important and provided us with a tiered quote that included the highest priority stuff separately from the other, maybe not-so-important issues. Given the cost, we opted to handle our highest priority stuff first. This included relocating 5-6 heads, installing a brand new head in a new location in our yard, and installing a drip system in our bushes. On install day, Julian returned with a helper (who's name we didn't get). They knocked out the whole job in about 6-7 hours. They dug holes, recovered things, etc. Julian setup our control unit to factor in the new lower-flow sprinkler heads and properly timed out the system so our lawn is getting adequate water without wasting. The new parts are amazing and provide the coverage we need. We're hopeful that we can now bring our dead patch back to life. We're looking forward to bringing the crew back out to replace the heads in our other zone in the near future. read more

Wanted $200 just to come out. Even if you don't decide to go with their work, they will take $200 from you. I ended up contacting another business, who completed the job for literally less than half of their quote just to make an appearance. It seems to be a reoccurring theme in their reviews that they believe they're too good for their own customers. I advise you shop around as anyone can easily beat their prices. Response to owner: Photos were never sent. The entire response is a fabricated lie. I don't care if you do an inspection, I had a simple repair, you don't need to warranty anything because you wouldn't have worked on anything outside of my request. Arrogant response. Why call someone for a simple repair? It's my parents house and I don't live in the area to do it myself. The office staff and the associate Tyler who came out were very professional and accommodating. They scheduled the initial consultation within a few days and explained everything thoroughly to us. My only complaint would be the price. I received the proposal and it was way higher than I anticipated given the amount of work to be done...1 controller, 2 valves, and some sprinkler heads $2,249. Well I looked up the cost of the parts individually and found that at the high end the cost was no higher than $500 and at the low end no higher than $350. I decided to cancel the request for them to install the parts and do it myself. The controller was $130 on amazon which took 10 minutes for me to install (super easy). I'm waiting for the sprinklers and valves to come in ($25 for 5) and will be installing those when they come. All in all I saved myself over $1,700. I think the pricing could be better given we already have an irrigation system and we're just looking to renew some parts. In response-thank you for your suggestion on models Taylor....I ended up doing a price comparison between the two models of the control systems...there was a minute difference between the two in terms of weather intelligence and about $100 difference so the 3e worked out well. I tried twice in three years to get Valley Landscaping to repair my sprinklers. This last time they came by, took a look at my small front yard which is only about 25 by 25 l, and without looking at the two sprinklers that weren't working well said that they would recommend that I install all new Sprinklers and more of them than the four that were already there. And it would cost some $1,200 or more and they wouldn't even attempt to just even replace the sprinklers with the 2 Rain Bird sprinklers that I already had. He did a review of our system and identified the problems. In the initial consultation, Taylor arrived promptly and was very thorough. He listened to our concerns and proposed multiple solutions that fit within our budget. We agreed on fixing the existing drip system, fixing backflow and pressure issues, replacing all sprinkler heads with more efficient ones, and adding coverage where needed. I brought Valleyscape in to review my irrigation system that was the original, in a 16-year old tract home. The panel seemed to have completely died, and our grass was starting to die. In comes Ray, he replaced the panel with one that is controlled by an app on our phones (WOW! I'm impressed!) and then the following week, he and another employee replaced every sprinkler head, tested coverage, and installed a drip system in our planters. First let me say that I am not one to give out reviews - good or bad- without thinking about it. I am glad to say this is a good one. First it may seem unusual for a company to charge for an initial visit. But here's the thing; they come out and really look at what you have. If you don't need it; they don't sell you on it. If you do, they let you know. But the money you spend is also deducted from the work they do, so you get an honest and thorough look at your system. They helped us understand what we had and really put our minds at ease in what it would take to get our system to A+. Even if you just need an audit of the stuff you have, its worth it because they spend time with you to make sure you get it. Then you can make an informed decision. Taylor showed up a few days ago and provided us a budgetary quote based on an underground leak located on the side of our house and near some trees. He came by today with a helper and after about 35 minutes of digging he told my wife they were going to charge $600 to dig more and discover where the leak was. I was shocked and bewildered by the absurd rate, we are talking $600 per hour digging some minuscule hole near a tree, meaning $300 each per hour, that's how much I charge companies for big data analytics consulting projects.. anyway that's absurd. Terrible service and a complete waste of time. I wouldn't mind paying for something fair, however this seemed like a complete scam. Response: last thing that was stated was, we will find the leak and cap it off, resulting in a $600 fee.. there was no such 4-5 hr work time discussed nor agreed upon. read more

The whole job was done in a day and mike showed me the work whenever i was outside ensuring it was done to my expectation. I've had two great experiences with Taylor in the past when he came out to my home once for an inspection and another for a repair... however, the lack of communication and disclosure in my appointment last week was pretty disappointing to say the least. I called to schedule a visit since one of my sprinkler zones wasn't turning on properly with the controller. They were able to send a tech out early the following week and I agreed. Once there and within about 20 minutes, the tech calls me and says that I should turn the sprinklers on a different method to run them instead of the manual option actually available with the controller, and says the controller itself is probably acting up. Okay... Before he leaves, he asks how I was planning to pay the $110 inspection fee. I was surprised since not once was that fee ever brought up when I made or confirmed the appointment, nor before the tech initiated the work. I asked him to have somebody in the office or Taylor call me later that day, and the only person that called me was another person trying to collect payment. So basically my sprinkler zone still doesn't work the way it used to/I want it to, and I'm out $110... which is pretty much the price of a new controller at Lowe's. Frustrating? You bet. read more

Not even the invoice as they promised. Found them to be very expensive and high charge for an estimate. My best advice check into Costco lighting and have it installed elsewhere.
