We recently had a complete sprinkler system installed in our front yard, and it is working great! We needed three zones: one for the Kurapia, one for our king palm, and one for the backyard. Awesome team to work with! I found these guys through yelp because I had a couple leaks with my system. I got quotes from 2 other companies to compare price. Dr. Sprinkler wasnt the cheapest, but they were the only contractor that quoted me for everything I needed. There were 3 leaks in my system, including one coming from a massive planter. One contractor quoted me 3k to replace the entire system, the other contractor was cheaper, but also did not want to touch the planter. They came out, quoted me about 500 to fix the entire system. They showed up on time and fixed the 3 trouble spots I identified. They were on site for about 1 hour, did a complete check of the system, and let me know the level of effort was less than they expected. They ended up giving me 150 bucks back. I had one sprinkler valve leaking and also would not turn off after cycle. Many sprinkler heads worn, damaged, out of adjustment. I had a plumber wanting an obscene amount just to change the valve. Logan came by and gave a reasonable estimate. He and his technician arrived as scheduled and went through the whole system. 4 valves, 27 nozzles and filters, a few popups replaced for alot less than plumber valve quote. Viviana communicated all the way through and emailed an invoice after the with was done. A I've year warranty is given for the work. I have a Flume water meter which detected running water 0.07gpm. I'm really disappointed with my experience with Dr. Sprinkler. They initially gave us a quote to repair both our front and backyard sprinkler systems, but once they arrived, they completely backtracked on what was promised. Suddenly, we were told it would cost an additional $2,000 just to include the front yard--something that was clearly discussed beforehand. To make matters worse, they only ended up completing half of the work in our backyard, leaving the job unfinished. The lack of transparency, follow-through, and professionalism was frustrating. I just got my service done, so I need to wait before judging the reliability of the technical work. But I want to comment on my customer experience. The person who came to do the job for me appeared to have one key objective: do as little work as possible and leave as soon as possible. Specifics: (1) When I was checking the work after they were done, I pointed out 8 sprinklers that they simply did not touch and were not working at all. They were is a very obvious place. This made me wonder how much I should trust this work, (2) During the day, he asked me to confirm that he will be doing area A and B, and did not mention area C, which was part of the original plan. When I pointed it out, he agreed, and I then realized that he perceived some difficulty in this area and thus was hoping it did not exist! (3) He pushed back on doing minor polish things like removing an old drip line or pouring pebbles to cover the new one. He said this would take more time and I should schedule another appointment to do it. I was already doing an $1,800 job, with 4 hours of labor. Spending 2-3 more minutes on such a trivial polish would not have made a difference, but he pushed back anyways. I had a great experience with Dr Sprinkler. My system was inherited from the previous owner and was ancient. The ancient nomads thousands of years ago probably originally installed this POS. Anyways, in comes Dr Sprinkler. He immediately diagnosed problems, walked me through everything, then followed up the next day with a quote. At first I thought "Whoa!" but then it was itemized and broken down and I thought, "Yeah. Fair." He prioritized my job because I had a couple of serious issues, including a busted pipe and then a loud screeching sound that would reanimate the dead every time it came on. His team was quick. efficient, and installed everything as expected. They also allowed me to go zone by zone and do a test, taking my requests and doing final touch tweaks to get it perfect. With things heating up and my local sprinkler repair company on an extended vacation, I was surprised to get a quick response from Dr. Sprinkler. The doctor came up from Orange County just for a look at the issues, how long it would take, and to prepare the quote. I appreciated that level of service, and best of all, it was less (by my estimate) than my usual company. On the day of the repairs, the doctor did not arrive in the appointment window, and I feared I was being stood up, but he eventually showed up...that said, in the end that might have been better as the whole area was in the shade by that point. He made sure everything was working and showed me each repair while we went over all his work: he wanted me to be satisfied. I now have a lot less water wasted that was watering the sidewalk & driveway, and leaking pipes are now fixed as well. Brett cancelled as it was a holiday for them. Understandable. The following week I was back at work and had appointment for July 8th. He replied that the individual hadn't gotten back to him and apologized. I let him know to tell Nick not to come. I understand things happen. However, having arranged to get off work early then no communication from the individual who was supposed to come after an hour had passed isn't acceptable. I called several sprinkler companies to get estimates on fixing the sprinklers in our yard, and found the prices and customer service at Dr Sprinkler to be the best. I made the appointment with Ally, at the front office, and she had her technician come out fairly quickly. When they came out originally, there were some sprinklers in desperate need of repair. They replaced most of our broken sprinklers, and it seemed like we had pretty good coverage. Within a couple of weeks, I noticed that a couple of spots weren't getting enough water. I called Ally, and she sent Nick out. Nick was exceptional. He repaired the section that wasn't working. He also adjusted some other sprinklers for us so we had better coverage. He was friendly, honest, and hard working. We got our sprinklers fixed, and the sprinklers are now in better working order than ever! We are impressed with how our sprinklers currently work. All around my foundation the paint and stucco was crumbling off. I had the stucco repaired and the house painted and four separate employees of the painting company said "If you don't do something about these planter sprinklers you'll have this same issue really fast". The issue is all the planter sprinklers were about 1/2" away from my house causing it to be constantly sprayed no matter how you adjusted them. My gardener is good at fixing the lawn sprinklers but he wasn't much help with the planter sprinklers. I found Dr. Sprinkler on yelp and saw some yelp friends had success with them. I liked how they specialized in sprinklers so I contacted them for a quote. Ally contacted me quickly and set up an appointment with Nick for a quote. Nick came out and was extremely nice and we liked all his solutions. We would replace all the planter sprinklers with drip irrigation. They also said they could fill in the soil trenches the painters dug around my foundation and cover all my planters with mulch. I liked what Nick had to say and signed up. The following Thursday Nick and Shane came out. This was truly a pain in the arse job that took them about 9 hours to finish. Not something I would have wanted to do myself so I'm glad I hired the pros. All the spray sprinklers were removed and capped off below ground level. Then at strategic points the thick drip irrigation hose was hooked up to the water source and the hose intertwined amongst the plants. Valves had to be replaced with pressure regulated valves. It was a long dirty job. After everything was tested then it was all covered in mulch. I was then given a demonstration and they told me what to set my timers for. Now the planters look beautiful, all the sprinklers are gone from our wall, and the irrigation is hidden. Now instead of 50% or more of the water spraying all over my house and sidewalks it'll be 100% of it going into the soil. He said even running this for 20 to 30 minutes a few times a week uses less water than the previous sprinklers did in 3 minutes. I also love how they're whisper quiet. The old sprinklers would always wake me up. This would have been a 5 star experience except for 2 issues. 1. I paid for them to mulch my planters. It was a insane price for mulch but Nick said "He has a guy that makes great mulch". His "guy" ended up being the Vigoro $3.99 a bag mulch from Home Depot. What pisses me off is when they finished Nick said "we didn't get enough mulch so you need to buy another 5 to 10 bags to finish the job". I paid YOU a LOT of money for YOU to do the job. It's YOUR job to get enough materials. If you didn't buy enough than YOU need to go back to the store and buy enough to finish the job. So now I paid a ridiculous amount for "his guy's" home depot mulch but now I have to finish the job. That pisses me off big time. I could have saved a lot of money by doing all the mulch myself but wanted to save my back from hauling it here. But now I have to anyways. 2. One of them damaged the paint on the window sill in front of my wife's office. She heard him do it. She heard the other employee say "How did you do that???" and them replying "I don't know, I must need a break!". Then they never told us. Accidents happen, and due to the long day I'm sure they just forgot to mention it. They were both very nice and professional so I'm sure it wasn't intentional but they forgot. But if they would have just told us right away when it happened I would have said "Hey, accidents happen, I'll touch it up when you leave". But now I'm touching it up and mentioning it on this review. In the end don't let my two negatives steer you away from Dr. Sprinkler. It was a great experience from start to finish and I would not hesitate to recommend them or use them again. I just wanted to be honest and leave a fair review with what I loved and what bothered me. read more

Great company to work with! The Dr Sprinkler team was well organized and communicated well from the start. I reached out in a late afternoon and they were available and over early the next morning. I had an issue with my sprinkler control and a couple of damaged sprinklers. The issues combined led to my water bill doubling over two months. They arranged to come out for a free estimate and provided an arrival time. They came over at the arrival time they mentioned which was great. They called me with a heads up on their recommendations for the issues I mentioned and gave an estimate before they began working. I agreed to the estimate and they began right away and got it done. They reprogrammed my control and said it was still new and would be fine because they found the issue with the settings I had. They made a recommendation for the two damaged sprinkler heads I had and were able to replace them on the spot. There were some things that stood out-- 1) they were very courteous, I spoke to a couple of people (one office admin and the owner who came out to fix my issues since my address is in his area) 2) they didn't try to upsell me on replacing my whole system (maybe everyone wouldn't do this but this was refreshing anyway) 3) they didn't get to work then tell me the price afterwards, it was very upfront and transparent (read another review of another sprinkler company going to work for five hours without an estimate, not fixing the problem, then asking to call it even for an exorbitant amount!) 4) everything was professional and easy to work with 5) I don't know anything about sprinkler repair pricing but it seemed like a deal to me and I would use them again! 6) there was also another leak I was not aware of but they sent me a picture of it and said they fixed it and would not be extra!
