Went into the store yesterday to receive a Western Union payment. The young man at the courtesy…read moredesk told me there was no one there who could work the Western Union machine. I asked him to check with a manager. He went into the back office. Was there a couple minutes came out, said no one has the ability to work that machine today until tomorrow after three. I asked him why only one person in the store was train. He snapped back at me and said it's not about training. It's because only one person has the code. I called customer service while in the parking lot. I spoke to the mail manager who was very nice and said oh no Tish is in the back office up at the courtesy desk. She has the code. I'll connect you with her. Tish, who has an attitude or Trish. She still has an attitude, no matter what her name is snapped at me saying I don't have a code. No one here has a code the machine shut down the girl who has the code left to half hour ago. So then I called Myers customer service. They connected me with the branch manager, who told me then that the girl with the code called off that day, but assured me someone would be there at 8 o'clock to next morning. He was very nice very professional, but he was covering up for his employees. I did put a call in to Western Union with my complaint. They also stated that there should absolutely be someone in that store at all times with the code and able to work the machine and that they were going to look into it. It's not even about the machine. It's about the trickle down effect of lies. I have just started shopping at Myers a month or two ago and I will never step foot back in the store beans I was treated so poorly so rudely.

The last straw was this past weekend ( Friday) with my order, arriving finally to the relax and enjoy to my surprise bitting into my chicken the taste and texture was off. Something told me to take a look at what I had began to eat, to discover the most ( unrecognizable Orange substance, photos are in their gallery ) I had ever seen within any meat within my 60 years !. After the long holding calling the store I was told by him if I was unsatisfied with it, return it,no concern on what I had just explained experiencing eating a foreign substance!. When doing so I was again treated in the same matter his normal at me, then with the management over him, that he had the young lady call to conclude the interaction of my refund, boldly saying with a nasty face it looked like it had been ( inJected), I held my composure, no apology or concern, but (here) ugh face placing my refund in my hand. In a good note I'm grateful and thankful for great customer service that was provided by the young woman that work under him, speaking being polite, he (they) should take notice and follow under their example of being a decent human being that chooses to work in customer services, this would help the business instead of forcing them away !.

The store itself is set up nicely and does have a great selection of produce and items. Their bakery was great and the bagels were fresh and well stocked. Produce looked good, great meat counter and deli as well. Just not as big as other stores, and seems like more of a smaller, more limited selection of items. The staff here that I interacted with was great, efficient and really helpful. I picked up some chicken salad from the counter and when I had it for lunch it was really super good. I'm fussy about chicken salad, and these people actually make it good. They had a gourmet one, but I didn't get it and went with the traditional salad instead. Overall, the place does have good vibes, just smaller than I had anticipated. I would gladly stop in here again to pick up items for lunch at work.

I took to the internet to find a recipe that I could follow. I found one that was promising with very simple ingredients. The main one is Garam Masala. I cooked chicken shawarma when I was out of Michigan and it was good! So I figured I'll do it again here. I even got a little more ambitious and prepared myself a Mediterranean garlic sauce with it to boot! One problem though: where in this neighborhood could I buy garam masala. I called a store that would remain nameless that advertised they "now sell middle eastern cuisine" but, after the phone call, I realize they do NOT sell SPICES - just the cuisine. Go figure. Suddenly, I remembered that everytime I go visit Burger King on 10 mile and Ryan there is a little inconspicuous store behind it that advertises they sell Middle Eastern spices. Since it is only a short drive from my place, I thought I'd check it out. As I went through the door, I was greeted by a soft spoken man who kindly asked me if he could help me find something. When I told him I'm looking for garam masala, he said they have several. He started taking out packets of cumin, curry, etc. thinking that i want to MIX my own garam masala (which one could DO btw).I told him that I am looking for one that is already mixed. He told me that he had two packets left somewhere. Frankly, I didn't think he had so I just took my time looking around the store and found out they have ALL KINDS of Middle Eastern spices, soup, etc. and took a mental note where to go in case I need something else in the future. It took but two minutes when the man handed me a packet. Lo and behold on the front of the packet was the label "Garam Masala." Long story short, I got my fix of home-cooked Mediterranean food without having to drive to Bucharest Grill in Detroit! I'm posting the picture of the said chicken shawarma on my profile. It DID taste as good as it looked! ;) All thanks to this store for the main ingredient! THIS would be my go-to store for all things middle eastern from now on. I WILL be back!
