With just about everything you can find at the city Pete's locations and a few special extras, all I could think about was how awesome it must be to go to Acadia and have all that within walking distance at all times. Where they go awry a little bit is on the to-go counters. The wait times ended up being a bit outrageous for no particular reason. A breakfast sandwich to go took about 25 minutes (no joke), and I saw a breakfast smoothie take about 15. Maybe they were just getting things started that morning and hadn't set up all their ingredients, but it was a bit much.

We decided to stop in on the way back to pick up bottled water and a couple other things for our hotel room. I stayed in the car while my husband did a quick run in and out. He reported that the store setup seemed weird to him and he spent a lot of time looking for the maple cookies. Cashier was friendly, he just thought the layout of the store was confusing. Hard to comment about the prices because of currency in Canadian and we are from US so everything seems so much cheaper. Posted sign says 2 - 24 pk water for $5. That would be $3.66 U.S. Dollar! Or $1.83 per 24 pls.

And it's well worth marking it in your calendar for a wonderful day trip. The restaurant has a fabulous menu - you must try the blueberry poppyseed dressing - on a salad, or chicken - like the smoked chicken quesedilla. They even have a children's menu. But our little ones were too little (not to mention messy) to eat in their beautiful dining room. Not a problem though. There are picnic tables just outside right next to a Koy pond and some of the gazillion blueberry bushes where you can take out a sandwich or bring your own picnic. And speaking about blueberries. This pick-your-own farm is so big, they actually have a big, air conditioned bus to take you around to the best spots to pick and then collects you after you fill up your buckets.

It's a magical place where you arm yourself with plastic bags (like the ones at the grocery store) and you walk around and scoop stuff into them. It's that simple but it's also that awesome. Almost anything you can think of, they have it here. There's 12 different kinds of flour for goodness sake! Candy, rice, spices, dog bones, pie filling...you name it, they have it. And you can get whatever quantity you want, from a pinch to a pound! You pay based on the weight but we bought about 10 different things and barely broke 20 dollars. You want to try quinoa but you're not sure you'll like it? Buy a cup worth. Got a weird addiction to Sour Skittles and you're embarrassed the convenience store guy is starting to notice? Buy three pounds at Bulk Barn. Our only knock is that we wish their scoops had measurements on them in case you're buying portions to cook with.
