I wish I could give a negative star rating! My daughter took my car to get inspected and an oil change and they informed her that the windshield wipers needed replaced and if she didn't have them replaced there they would fail the inspection. When she returned my car to me at work with the receipt I immediately noticed the $28.99 charge for EACH wiper! I replaced the wipers 2 WEEKS ago and they did not need to be replaced. I have used the same brand of wipers for years and I have NEVER been told they needed replaced. They try to say the law doesn't allow there to be a residue ( wipers like Rain-X) which is a ridiculous and inaccurate claim! Another woman was told the same thing while my daughter was there and she heard the woman say that she thought her husband had replaced the wipers recently. This Valvoline has deceptive practices and they take advantage of customers by threatening to fail their inspection if they don't replace items that do NOT need to be replaced. I contacted this Valvoline on Raleigh Road to express my dissatisfaction in their service and deception regarding the wipers. The response I received for every concern I voiced was "I understand." I have used the Valvoline in Goldsboro for years and the service there has been amazing and honest. It was convenient to go to the Wilson location due to my being a teacher in Wilson HOWEVER I will never use this Valvoline again I strongly recommend to others if they need and an inspection and or oil change to choose somewhere else/ANYWHERE else to get it done. What should have cost me under $100 cost me $147 because I was charged almost $60 for wipers that were NOT needed. This is a very deceptive and manipulative business. **My daughter took her car to be inspected the same day in Greenville and passed...her wipers haven't been replaced or needed to be replaced for over a year. read more

STAY AWAY, I am truly appalled, this has been by far the worst customer experience/service I have ever had the displeasure of being involved in. It is ironic that they advertise car care because expecting your car to leave in the same condition as it arrived is too much of an ask for this place. Would give a zero if possible. My husband is an engineer by trade and he normally does all my own oil changes and took my car there to get a standard oil change since I was in a time crunch. Pretty simple right, I thought so too. They for some reason(incompetence?) threw away the drain plug that was 100 percent functional and had no issues with previously every time we have changed the oil for the entire history we have owned the car. They DID NOT TELL ME that they changed this plug. Was not communicated verbally or in the comments on the receipt. The threaded plug they replaced it with was the incorrect thread size and ended up damaging the threads in the oil pan once torqued causing a leak path to form. After a week of the car sitting at there shop no claim had been filed or started. I had to call and make a claim. Upper management did nothing. The customer service department did nothing. I still haven't yet to receive a call from them. Every time there has been some communication it was initiated by me. I was told they would fix the threads in the pan. When I got there they put a pan saver rubber plug on the car as a "fix" for the damage THEY introduced to my car. So not only did they damage my car, they didn't provide a robust solution. As the rubber puck on the pan saver will degrade and leak again. And to top it off, we can't remove it without taking the oil pan off since there are now pan saver components in the oil pan that will fall off and be unsecured. Causing more work for me rather than if they hadn't touched it at all. Stay far away from this place. They do not protect or care about their customers. This place in my experience operates on predatory processes and a sweep-it-under-the-rug-mentality. My car went in there with a fully functional non leaking threaded drain plug connection and left thoroughly damaged with a temporary patchwork "fix" that is going to be more work for us to actually fix than if they had never touched it. If a Valvoline bot responds to this review. Please highlight to any future readers how empty and meaningless it is to say how disappointing it is or to ask me to follow up with customer service. I did. It was as fruitful as talking to a wall. I wasn't asking for much but apparently expecting your car to leave in the same condition and equipment as it arrived is too much these days. read more

I will NEVER take another vehicle to this place. Went in for an oil change and was told I needed to do a coolant flush. Only had 40,000 miles on the car and that is usually recommended around 100,000 miles. However, the people must have assumed since I was a woman, that I would agree to do it. I told them not today. Well my car started running hot, and come to find out, there was no antifreeze in it. Luckily someone stopped and helped me by putting water in it to get me home. There was NO LEAK because I have taken it to a trusted mechanic and they looked everything over. However, I was forced to do the coolant flush at this point, since it was full of water. Also, they left a tool laying under my hood that could have messed up something as well. Sloppy work, done by people that have no business working at a place that almost cost me a whole vehicle!!!!! read more

While on a very long drive, I had a light come on. Panicked, I pulled in to what was to me a random oil change place and had a fantastic experience. Every person here was so helpful and never made me feel bad about not knowing exactly what I needed. They were quick, attentive, and everyone had a great attitude and seemed to want to help. Though not from this area, I would gladly drive the distance to come back if needed. read more

Never again! I went in for an oil change and the girl that guided me to pull in was so high pressure in her selling. I told her I was only there for an oil change but she continued to try and sell me services I didn't need. I told her the Chevy dealer had just serviced the transmission and the rest of the car on the last oil change but she said she didn't have a record of it and kept trying to boss me around. I have gone to this shop for five years and each time all was good because they knew exactly what I wanted. Now things have changed and they are like another oil change shop in town called Mr. Tire by trying to get you to pay for services you either don't need or don't want.
