They drive by not offering any updates, just watching us stand and freeze at the bus stop waiting and they could care less. One of the first buses I tried to get on (CC Allen/College) the driver shuts the door while I am getting on. The doors close on my shoulders and then I get trapped with the door between my back and my bookbag. I was confused as to what was happening and reacted by saying 'whoa whoa'. The old white racist boomer with gray or white hair and glasses who was driving just looks at me and mocks me by repeating what I said in a funny voice before opening the door. Then instead of apologizing he gives me attitude. And no the not in service sign was not on. If we are lucky they will go bankrupt.

The property is…read morelocated in a beautiful part of Pennsylvania (Bellefonte, PA) and is just a hop, skip, and a jump away from Penn's Cave & Wildlife Park, making it a perfect place to stay while exploring the area. We spent one night in the Maid's Quarters, and the accommodation was comfortable, charming, and full of character. The home is beautifully decorated with antiques that add to the Victorian atmosphere and make the experience feel truly special. Nancy, the proprietor, along with Casey and Asia, were all incredibly welcoming, helpful, and pleasant throughout our stay. The breakfast was excellent!! They all went out of their way to make us feel at home. We especially enjoyed the excellent conversations and genuine hospitality. If you're looking for a unique, relaxing, and friendly bed-and-breakfast experience, I highly recommend The Queen. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would gladly stay again.

From their house is almost a 2 hour drive calculation. Plenty of "Car & SUV" parking. Most importantly the long drive and miles of roadways is for the "truckers" who have their special area especially for sleep or naptime! ;) Picnic tables are wooden. Dog Run areas. Garbage cans are near walk areas. Clean Women's bathrooms (6 stalls) Hand dryers and foam soap. Information area with maps and brochures for your travel guide. Kenny was the employee working this morning as we stopped in on Tuesday June 25th @ 8 a.m. The office door was opened and he was kind enough to step out and chat with me plus he answered 2 of my questions about this building. Well stocked vending machines with snacks, candy, gum, and "Soda" PA talk for pop. An area with a special hot beverage machine for coffee, tea and hot chocolate for those winter travelers by car, SUV or those hard working semi truckers who need a comfort relaxing place like this one ! A * 4 star * stop in by opinion with future stops when leaving Pennsylvania for sure. I'm sure I will change my stars to 5 when we stop here again in the Fall of 2019. Then I will make sure to confirm the cleanliness and well maintained commonwealth and transportation facility for this location in Pennsylvania! :)

Lots of information booklets in the inside, clean restrooms and vending machines. Wasn't busy on a Monday morning when driving into the city. I'd definitely stop here for the "Welcome to New Jersey" sign and to smell the flowers. A wonderful first impression when entering the state.

Given the circumstances we're living with in 2020, I honestly didn't think I would get the chance…read moreto safely travel again for a couple of years. So when a family member approached me and asked me if I wanted to stay at this inn, I was surprised; but, after learning more, I excitedly said yes. This was the right decision and led to a fantastic and relaxing weekend away from the city. This nature inn sits in Bald Eagle State Park and has 16 guest rooms, a handful of meeting room/library spaces, and is absolutely beautiful. The rooms on one side of the inn overlook a lake, with the other side facing a cluster of trees. My relative and I ended up facing the trees, but we were totally fine with that - especially since the fall foliage was starting to set in. We were on the 2nd floor, so we were able to enjoy the view from a private balcony throughout the weekend; it looked like the 1st floor rooms had little patios instead, so no matter what, guest rooms have some sort of outdoor seating. Normally, guests would all be able to enjoy a communal patio and fire pit here. Granted, some other guests (as it appeared that a large group came here together) did go ahead and enjoy this space. My relative and I did not because avoiding people is a must these days, but still, what we saw of these spaces looked great. Definitely something to remember for the future. Speaking of avoiding people - it's 2020, so naturally, my relative and I were focused on what the inn is doing to protect guests. The answer is, plenty! Cleaning and sanitizing the inn is a big thing, naturally. The small size of the inn definitely helps, as it's not particularly big and doesn't lend itself to the gathering of huge crowds. Masks are a must and for the most part, this rule was adhered to; I passed by a couple of guests that I think just forgot theirs momentarily, but staff definitely took the rule seriously. Their dining room is currently closed - all meals are prepped and offered as take-out or delivery. Fortunately, the rooms include a fridge, so it was super easy for my relative and me to bring snacks and store our leftovers so that we were stocked and well-fed all weekend. Also, while you can request items that you need for your room, daily turn-down service is not happening right now - that way, only guests are in their rooms during their stay. The result was that I felt extremely relaxed while I was in the inn, knowing that my space and health was being respected and taken seriously. A couple of notes - the mattresses here were admittedly very hard and uncomfortable, and while they didn't ruin our stay, it's still nice to have my comfy soft bed back. I don't really hold this against the inn though since, frankly, I think all hotel beds are uncomfortable by default. Speaking of things I don't hold against them - this is a nature inn, so you better expect some of the local wildlife to try to get into your room. When I first opened my balcony door some stinkbugs fell onto me because they had gathered around the door frame - whoops! The good news is that the door itself was very well sealed, so the little jerks couldn't get in when the door was closed. Again, I don't hold that against the inn at all, seeing as it's set right in a state park. Still, I think it's fair to remind other guests and readers that when you visit a nature park, you better be ready to experience everything nature throws at you. If any of this sounded like something you would enjoy, I encourage you to visit the inn's website to learn more about staying here; there is a lot of information there about a range of other topics, such as how the entire facility is designed to be ecologically sound, what to expect when you visit during different seasons, and what sorts of outdoor fun awaits you in the surrounding nature park. The property overlooks a quiet spring in the back, where chairs and a firepit are nestled near the stream. We had a nice time sitting on the back deck and getting to know Carrie and Dave, and another guest; the innkeepers were genuinely interested in getting to know us, but not overly involved and had zero problem giving us and the other guests plenty of room to enjoy the home ourselves. Breakfast was again very generous and enjoyable for us; we are healthy eaters and picky about what we eat. We did not go hungry whatsoever. Breakfast consisted of ham quiche, fresh coffee and tea, milk, sausage, muffins, Greek yogurt with fresh cut fruit and a crumbled topping. All amenities were accounted for in the rooms including towels, soap, shampoo, body wash, Q-tips, cotton, plenty of towels, and clean drinking glasses. We could not have asked for a nicer stay and plan to go back again.

We stayed in the carriage house and could look out the window at the hills, and watch the fog roll off the hills. Such a wonderful view. We could walk through the lit up garden at night on the way to our car. (Parking was in the back through an alley way.) The owners greeted us in the morning and had a scrumptious breakfast for us. We would definitely stay here again. [The present owners are in the process of retiring and have the B&B up for sale- we hope the new owners keep up the standards the present owners have.]

We purchased the combo ticket for the cave tour and wildlife experience. Both were excellent. The cave tour is by boat, and we were piloted by a knowledgeable, spirited guide. And the cave is really kind of breathtaking. (We had a noon cave tour) The wildlife park tour is on a bus and again our driver was engaging and fun. The animals are well cared for, and not confined to small cages. They have space to roam and be animals. (Our park tour was 2 pm.... I mention the times so management can credit the guides if they read these reviews and do that sort of thing.) While we went for a couple's road trip, the visitors are definitely mostly families. So there are a fair amount of young ones around. Mostly, they just seemed fascinated with the cave and the animals.

Located in Centre County, PA (which apparently has over 130 caves!), this unique tour takes you through a beautiful limestone cavern entirely by boat. The cave tour lasts about 45 minutes and costs $25 per person. They also offer a wildlife tour by bus, but we only had time for the cave portion. Be aware there's a fairly large staircase you'll need to go down to reach the cave entrance. Something to keep in mind if anyone in your group has mobility issues. Each boat holds around 22 people, but we visited on a quiet Monday afternoon and only had 8 in our group, which made it feel more personal. Our tour guide was excellent and knowledgeable, engaging, and had a sense of humor. He encouraged questions and had thoughtful answers for everything we threw at him. At the end of the cave, you actually exit into a small lake, take a brief spin around, and then head back through the cave to where you started, very cool and peaceful. There's also a gift shop on-site that sells snacks, drinks, and the usual souvenirs. Tours typically depart every 30 to 60 minutes depending on how busy they are, so timing is pretty flexible. All in all, it's a fun, unique experience that's well worth the stop!
