The Hotel Eastin - Urine and poop on our private toilet

FILTHY When we walked into the lobby or we could smell was cat pee . There was an half bag of…read morefrozen chicken legs and a rock hard half eaten burrito in our fridge. The fridge has mold and hair and food inside . The microwave is FILTHY with old crusty food. The entire floor is DISGUSTINGLY DIRTY. It looks like it hasn't been mopped or swept in MONTHS. Luckily we brought our own bedding and we used their bedding to cover the floors so we could walk on them. Urine on and around the toilet. Luckily we had our own toilet and I cleaned it well enough for us to use because the two small community bathrooms are DISGUSTING and moldy . Unfortunate we didn't have a choice to stay anywhere else as it was last minute. We left as soon as we could in the morning simply because we wanted to get out of that filthy place. There's a difference between vintage/old/ unique and downright dirty and u kept.

My husband booked the John Denver suite for two nights and for two reasons; it looked like a cool room to spend a few nights in and because it was the ONLY room with a king size bed and PRIVATE bathroom. My husband spoke with the manager ON THE PHONE two weeks before our arrival and before he booked the room on Airbnb. He confirmed the accommodations and paid for the room. When we arrived there was a small empty lobby that wasn't quite clean but not filthy either. A nice young lady greeted us and said she would show us to our room. She took us upstairs through a labyrinth of small, dark, strange hallways. Some doors had room names and some doors were just open with workers walking in and out of them. There was remodeling everywhere. She opened the door to a room and we told her it was not the room we booked. It had a small bed AND NO PRIVATE BATHROOM. The bathroom was SOMEWHERE down one of the halls. I told my husband I could not stay there...it DIDNT FEEL SAFE. The idea of SHOWERING or walking down one of those hallways with workers going in and out all about to use the bathroom was not an option. She proceeded to tell us the John Denver suite was being remodeled. We asked for any other room with a private bath and king bed. They had NONE. We asked for a refund. She said she understood our situation and it would t be a problem. She said she would speak to the manager to get it taken care of. We had to leave so we could find other accommodations. The manager then sent us a message telling us that a a few days before we were scheduled to arrive he EMAILED us to let us know the room was unavailable and he REBOOKED US FOR THE SAME PRICE IN THE OTHER ROOM. We again said not acceptable and asked for a refund. He refused. We explained we were traveling and had not seen the email and that HE COULD HAVE CALLED US...HE HAD OUR PHONE NUMBER and he still refused offering us $75 begrudgingly. We took the issue to Airbnb who gave us a FULL REFUND AND APOLOGIZED for the unfortunate situation. The manager then proceeded to leave us a bad review. DO NOT BOOK A ROOM IN THIS "HOTEL". The only thing scarier than the idea of a shared bathroom in a small dark hallway is dealing with a manager who is completely unscrupulous. VACATIONERS BEWARE!!!!!

I had reserved an online booking with a 3rd party company while on a road trip (I know a 3rd party…read morecompany is the problem). I had placed the reservation and realized the town was too far to get to. This is not why I am giving this establishment 3/5 stars. The reason for the 3/5 stars is the customer service provided by the front desk staff. The guy was little to no help as he "just went to bed after we booked this spot" and that there is nothing he can do to help. I'm a firm believer if a company utilizes a 3rd party company they would have a better solution.

Way overpriced for what the rooms, service and amenities are. At first, I chose motel because it…read morewas dog-friendly but their rules are that you cannot leave pets alone in rooms even in crates which I get (due to barking) so I left my pup home because hot springs don't allow dogs and I wasn't willing to leave him in the car in single digit temps. I chose the motel because it was close to Hot Sulfur Hot Springs. Staff seemed annoyed that I was checking in and during pretty much every interaction after that. Pizza and sandwiches available made at motel but super expensive for what you get but really no other options for food unless you go to Granby. I picked up a newspaper laying in the ground in front of the office door and front desk clerk scowled at me and threw it in the back office after I set it in counter. I get that it was a holiday and they were busy but I experienced really poor customer service. Some positives: the bed was comfortable and room was warm. No coffee makers in rooms so I walked to office in the morning in my PJ's and was given two cups of coffee in styrofoam cups with no lids. Got back to room and tripped and spilled coffee on bed accidentally. I told management right away as I was checking out. They texted me a few hours after I checked out and said they were going to charge me an additional $50 for the blanket because they couldn't get the stain out. I find that ironic as the clean towels in the bathroom hanging up when I got there had stains all over them. I get that they are a small/town business trying to make a buck but hospitality, kindness and courtesy go a long way. I want to help support small businesses during challenging covid times but hospitality is important. I'd recommend driving the extra 15-20 minutes from Granby or Grand Lake and staying at a hotel with much better amenities, rooms and service if you're planning on going to hot springs. For this stay, the convenience of how close Canyon Motel was to hot springs was not worth it.
