I have dry eye that affects my vision, I was having a discussion with Dr Brasseaux and she…read moresuggested plugs. I told her that I have had them before and they didn't work. She told me that they had improved them quite a bit. I wasn't sure and Dr Brasseaux told me she could get me a trial pair that wouldn't last but 2-3 weeks to try. I was skeptical but since most trials are free to get you to buy them I agreed to, she never mentioned a cost. They had to order them and I had to go back for her to put in, which took maybe 5 minutes. Normally when you leave the office, you have to pay what they think insurance won't cover, they said I was good when I left. The next thing I know they have billed my insurance which paid a portion and billed me for $300 some dollars. I called the office and asked to talk with doc and they told me that was my portion. I explained I was told these were a trial pair and they didn't last longer than 3 weeks and as discussed with her I am not paying for a non trial pair. They have now turned me over to collections for their error, told me I would have to find a new doctor and now I have collectors calling. I would never go back after what they have pulled. Do not sign their forms allowing them to bill insurance for whatever they want. THIS IS INSURANCE FRAUD.

I've actually been seeing Dr. Tate-Brasseaux for years. I have nothing but good things to say about…read moreher. She's the most competent optometrist in the area, including those faceless entities at the Lahey clinic. The only problem is she has a faulty picker when it comes to hiring support personnel. Two months ago, her gatekeeper/receptionist set a check up appointment for me over the phone. I remember it vividly. This was not the computer glitch that she later claimed it to be. I entered the date in question in my phone. That would be September 6, 3:30 PM 2021. As it turns out, that was Labor Day. It was on neither of our radars. Be that as it may, I received the usual text and email reminders for that appt date. Imagine my consternation when I showed up and the office was closed. I live a half an hour away, by the way. I left a voicemail. It was promptly returned by The gatekeeper, who immediately went into a__-covering mode. Computer glitch." Said she didn't know how it happened. Did she not think I remember the conversation from two months ago? I have no doubt that the appointment was deleted in order to cover this up. I still have the email. I didn't take exception to the situation and went ahead and reset an appointment for three days later. When I showed up for the new appointment, she was brusque and dismissive, after once again blaming the entire situation on the computer, without owning the mistake. After filling out the paperwork, I asked for my license and insurance card back and left. Life's too short to deal with rude, a__-covering liars.
