My first experience with this shop is when someone keyed my car in a school parking lot. They did a great job on the repairs. Recently I was donating some clothing at a resale shop and a person backed into me and damaged my bumper. It took a while to repair the damage, but once again this repair shop got my car to look brand new again They communicated with me on a regular basis keeping me informed of the progress of my car. Very nice people in their office. Bottom line I was very pleased with my experience here both times I used them. They are efficient and do good work. A true pleasure to deal with Van Horn- Manitowoc. I have had success with the Van Horn family of dealerships. Plymouth and Oconomowoc are also top notch folks and service. In late May my cars.com 150-mile search landed me on a nice looking 2020 Grand Cherokee at VH-Manitowoc. The entire experience was well handled. From calling the evening before to verify the vehicle was in stock and held for me (don't recall the young lady's name, but also deserves accolades). Shortly after the phone call, Kyle the sales manager kept in touch via text. Upon arrival the next morning, after driving about 2 hours, I arrived. Peyton, a very kind and personable salesman walked through the vehicle and test drive with me. The best part: they respected my time. Friendly conversation but no hard sales push. If I declined an option, I was asked again (what salesperson doesn't), but after declining options we moved on. Paperwork and processing of financing was quick, though I came w/ a preapproved loan too. I was in/out and driving the Jeep in 2.5 hours. I was searching for a new car and this location had what I wanted. The perfect jeep. I was excited made an offer and applied for credit. Vehicle and financing was approved and the APR was a little to high. So I reapplied with my wife and was able to get a lower rate but wait payment was the same Why? So I reviewed the application and numbers and found out that the dealership added a few thousand to price, when confronted the manager stated either buy it for listing price or Have a good day. So I contacted VH and spoke with manager that stated that he sees mistake and that this isn't how his dealership does business. But wait it gets better. So while i was waiting for a response back I contacted the headquarters and was told that they would transfer vehicle to a location closer to my home and swore that I wouldn't have to deal with the dealership above, Great!!!. So this morning i get a phone call from said dealership that "we are so sorry but we sold that vehicle last night " so now i have wasted time, credit ran, financing approved but someone else is driving the JEEP. We went in for what they call "express lube" but it turns out they make you get out of the car and wait in the small waiting room with several other people. What is the point of calling it "express" if you can't just pull in and pull out to get an oil change like every other place? What precautions is this business supposedly taking during Covid-19 if we are all waiting in the same room, restrooms open, kids area open, the employees without masks?! ...very very disappointed at this car dealer. We get free oil changes because we recently bought a new car here, but this just makes you not wanna come back. You are putting all of your employees at risk by having customers in and out for services that can be done as drive through. Have some empathy towards your employees and protect them. I bought my car there and that experience was great! I give them 100% customer satisfaction. However, the service side is the reason for a 2 star. I gave 5 stars for oil change service, but a 1 Star for customer service in service dept. They have the worst people as service advisors. I expressed concerns 2x (2 separate visits 6 months apart) during oil change and got blown off as it's nothing. They hooked me up to machine and had a few items trip and told me on the phone when car was done that another appointment was needed. I go pick up my car and he tells me he reached out to another service advisor (same guy I expressed my concern to the first time and blew me off) that it's a common trip. Wait? What? I went from another appt to fix to it's nothing. I paid for 3 oil changes and I'm so glad they are now done. I have been to other Jeep dealers in Green Bay and Appleton and had better service (with my last Jeep I had), than at this one. Sales-100% Service 25%. I'd advise you to find another Jeep dealer to work with other than an oil change. I've had Jeeps my whole driving career (25 years) and this is the worst service center around. Look at all the other Yelp reviews and Yahoo reviews. Beware. My Jeep was brand new 2019 off the Lot with 18 miles. 9,000 miles later, it's a lemon. read more

I saw a car that I liked online and I drove from Valparaiso, Indiana to Manitowoc to buy a car from this dealership. When you invest serious time, fuel and tolls to get to a dealership, you can only hope and pray that the car is as nice as it looks on a phone or computer screen. And also that the dealer is going to do the right thing on your behalf. In THIS case, both of my concerns were met with awesome, very Customer Service oriented individuals, who did the right thing to make the transaction, fast efficient and smooth. I HATE hanging around a dealership fooling around with silly minutia, that ONLY they are concerned with. For me, when I buy a car, I want to get in. Make the deal. Do the paperwork and just GET ON THE ROAD! The folks at Van Horn, did just that. And they went the extra mile at the last minute to sweeten the deal and make my deal even better. A dealership with very poor customer service. I was told the nerf bars that were on the truck were part of the price, then when we went to do the paperwork was told add ons are not included in the price and therefore were not included. That was just shy of a 1000 difference in price, which is kind of a big deal. I was able to negotiate a bed liner into the price and was told I would receive a call the next day to schedule the appointment and they would pick up the vehicle for the appointment. They did not call to schedule the appointment for over a week and only after I contacted them twice to ask why I had not heard back yet. When the appointment was finally scheduled I had to drive it the 40 minutes to them even though I was told they would pick it up. I contacted them multiple times to find out what the actual percentage would be if I did a loan through them and every time was told I would find out later. I hit the end of the 90 period and still do not know what it would have been even though they ran my credit the first day. I was told I would get a call a week or two prior to the end of the 90 days to discuss setting up the payment. I contacted the sales person I had been dealing with and never heard back. I then received a call on a Friday asking when I could be there Monday. Luckily I had the day off, but I now had to deal with the getting my payment ready over a weekend instead of the week or two I was told I would have. During that conversation on Friday I asked for the final number so I could prepare the payment and was told they would call as well as email it to me. I did not receive the number that day as I was told I would. I had to contact the manager Monday morning (the day I was supposed to go in) to get my final number and get my payment set up. The managers response to all of these issues was basically a that sucks email and saying he could get a driver to bring the paperwork for me to sign rather than coming down. Why would I want to go over the closing/payment paperwork without the financial guy there? What if there was an error (which there was) or I had a question. The manager's email was his only attempt at an apology. He did not attempt to call me or seek me out when I was standing in his dealership. Even with all of the issues I faced I sent them a sale (that will never happen again) and they did not even reach out to say thank you, which at the time would have gone a long way. The lies and misleading done by this dealership prove that all they care about is your money and as soon as the vehicle is sold you are useless to them. I gave them multiple chances to turn my experience to a positive one, but they continued to not follow through. Vehicles are expensive and all I expected was to be told the truth and for the dealership to follow through. Very disappointed across the board with the customer service and will not be doing business with them again. Since leaving a review they have made a very half hearted attempt to create any solution to these issues. They emailed me stating I would get a call from Jake to discuss the issues, that was just another lie from the dealership. Can't say I'm at all surprised as they failed to follow through on any single promise they made. Also rather than asking how you can solve a problem maybe you should offer up solutions. I'm not getting paid to solve your problems, therefore I refuse to do your job. read more

Terrible experience. A complete waste of hours of my time over multiple visits, texts and verbal contacts. I attempted to purchase a one year old van. -First offer they made relative to trade-in was below the lowest value on NADA. -Their first offer had a LuxCare package of almost $1,000 included in the financing amount and only listed it as a FOOTNOTE relative to the details. -Their first offer had an Extended Warranty package of over $3,100 included in the financing amount and only listed it as a FOOTNOTE relative to the details. -They said the vehicle was a Certified Pre-Owned. When my bank said they needed a copy of the Certified Pre-Owned paper work COMPLETED correctly, one of their managers was not only rude to the banker, they never provided the paperwork. This of course leaves me to wonder if it was ever Certified. -Offer then fell through. Finally, just to show it is possible to find good customer service in the auto sales business, I checked other dealers in the local area and purchased a van with a better deal and it took one visit of 2 hours, including test drive. They gave me fake/non-registered plates. They never even bothered to register them with the DMV. I drove around nearly a month illegally, never knowing my plates were bad until the DMV sent me a letter. How can a dealer provide you with bad plates. That should be a felony. what a joke! bought a 2008 honda odyssey. I drove it to work 60 miles and back and started noticing it shifted very hard after warming up. I brought it to them and they said they noticed nothing wrong with the way it shifted. I asked them if I brought it to a mechanic and he said the transmission was going if they would go good for it. He in a very arrogant way says we have ase certified mechanics. Wow must be only ones in the entire United States? On top of all this they offered me 90 day 3,000 mile warranty when i was there but then tried to change it to a 36,000 mile warranty for $1,900 (I had to go back the next day to get the van) and than said theres no record of a 90 day warranty even though there was 4 people that witnessed it being offered. Stay far away. They also never returned my calls about the vehicle when I started to notice the problem. whether the transmission makes it 1 mile or 100,000 miles from now never again just on the attitude of all employees. Real nice when trying to sell you a vehicle tough deal once you've got it (I want to say they knew about it when they sold it this I can't prove though) I put some Lucas oil transmission stop slip In it and right away that helped. I would recommend that stuff. This is my first time purchasing a "New" vehicle. I always said I wouldn't buy new and only one several years old so the bugs get worked out. We purchased our 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo on June 2nd and I now will be bringing it back the fourth time tomorrow. The traction control light and vehicle stabilization module had to be fixed, took 3 appointments for that and now today (6-20-18) the reverse brake assist comes on when nothing is in the sensors, so back we go. I have to say Joe D.(sales person) and Chuck (service dept) have been very professional while dealing with my frustrations.( They get a 5 score). Is this common when you buy a "new" vehicle? I don't know, this is my first. The do sell many buy backs (refurbished), damaged "new" vehicles that have been factory fixed, so you can get a deal, but I now wonder if it's worth it. Look at the window ID number if R at end "refurbished" or buy back, D at end means "damaged" , N indicates "new vehicle" from my understanding. read more

Horrible customer service!! Horrible experience!! Went in to buy a new Town and Country, and also compared it with a one year old model they had on the lot. The salesman tried hard and succeeded in selling us the used model, which was a good deal if nothing went wrong. Well, we had to find out from the finance manager when we were signing the papers that the van we were buying was in an accident. The salesman never disclosed that to us and claims he didn't know. We were assured the van had no issues despite being in an accident and it was Certified from Chrysler so what could go wrong? Well, the salesman told us he would give us a full tank of fuel, but we drove away with just over a half tank. We didn't bother to fuss over a couple dollars of fuel though. The first drive off the lot after we had purchased it we heard a noise by the front wheel. So we called and left a message with the salesman, since it was after hours and they were closed. He claims he never received that message. After about a week we called them and brought the van back to get the noise looked at. They were very snobby with us and said we can't get this fixed today yet, it's almost closing. We'll have to keep it overnight. The salesman said that somebody dropped the ball on the inspection and never finished inspecting it. But yet it said the inspection was finished and all the boxes were checked. So I went home with a rental which I ended up keeping for almost a week. I had to call them the next week to find out what was wrong with my van, and they told me it has a busted motor mount. And this was a certified pre owned vehicle I bought! They fixed that and the noise didn't go away. Then they said it was something with the rim. They had to order more parts. In the meantime, I started having second thoughts about this van I bought. I wanted to do something about it. I asked if they could take the van back and I would buy the new one I had looked at originally. They said they couldn't give me what I paid for it, that it had depreciated over $2000 in a matter of weeks! All they kept saying is that s@#% happens and they are doing what they can to fix it. I had a long talk with the general manager who said they could not do anything for me and that the inspection was completed and documented, even though the salesman told us earlier that it wasn't done. So we are starting to get different stories all over. He claims that those issues must have been missed originally, but they are fixed now. They would not work with us at all on any sort of compensation for the troubles we had. We wanted to return the van and get the new one for the same price difference as was quoted us to start. But he couldn't get near that price again, because of depreciation. They finally returned the van almost a week later, and with no 'sorry for the inconvenience', or no gesture to thank us for our patience or our patronage. They never once apologized. And never even called us when they said they would. We had to call them every time to get updates, to follow up on all the issues!! One of the worst dealership experiences I've ever had!! I have bought new vehicles for at least 50 yrs. and have never been treated so rudely. I would advise anyone to pass them by and look for a better place to buy a new truck or car. Horrible experience!!! I live an hour and half away and found this vehicle because of loyalty to Van Horn dealerships, I guess shame on me now. After several conversations I traveled to purchase a vehicle at a price determined before I even got there. The only reason I drove an hour and half there is because my husband called the night before to offer a deal and ended with the sales person to call us back with a confirmation from the manger. The next day my husband received a text confirming the deal with Brian and his sales manager and my husband called assuring there would be no surprises before I drove 1.5 hours each way. He was assured there would be no surprises and this was a done deal. He verified this was good to go so he sent his sent his wife over to the dealership. Upon arrival I was completely blindsided with the manager faulting on our agreement and offering a new price per our trade in which was well documented in the first conversations. The trade-in should not even have been an issue as all parties knew the trade in was worth no more than $500. Even worse after going back on our agreement they wanted to offer the vehicle for more than we originally agreed upon. This was a complete waste of time and shame on the employees who would have otherwise made this a pleasant car buying experience a complete waste of time.These car salesmen live up to the true term of "the used car salesman". The deal was fair and agreed upon multiple times however never think anything verbally is solid and yes that is a mistake I will never make again with this profession. We have had a few calls apologizing for their faulty sales system including an attempt to offer us more than the agreed upon price point, two different people offered us two different prices to make it right and each higher than the first.
