They are so cute looking! I know it's probably not as convenient as other methods of transport, but I still think trolley's are awesome! Too bad the route is kind of short and limited. Just really around a few neighborhoods in the city.. South from Foothill Blvd. to Mott Street. They only have probably somewhere between 2 & 3 dozen stops.. you can check them all out at their website. They operate from 10am - 4pm on weekdays, and 11am - 4pm on weekends. It's well kept and easy to access, has kiosks for purchasing and reloading physical TAP cards and a fair amount of benches/seating spaced out as well as trash cans/waste bins and signage to help guild you via maps, digital screens displaying arrival times for the East or West Bound side and some cool designs throughout making it feel very local. My big problem is over the past 10 years, even with improvements the West Bound side continues to experience a ridiculous number of delays and issues. Recently I saw 3 trains for the Eastbound side go by within the span of half an hour while waiting for the West, it was the worst deja vu because it happened in 2015, 2016, 2018, 2021 and now here again today. I have taken it Westbound with zero issue once. To top it off the train I was on had major issues, possibly do to another cart on the track, safety concern or something from the moment we took off. It kept at the slowest pace for three stations stops, eerily so and then came to a complete stop for several minutes where I saw another Eastbound train go by O.O - NO ANNOUNCEMENT whatsoever. I was running later than I wanted to for meeting up in Highland Park. It made me realize boarding here isn't the best, at least not for me. Eventually the train was moving and functioning normal the remainder I was on which was less than a minute as I was only going four stops, guuuuurl... Do better. Go Metro, but have an alternative or two.

It's all self service. And the station is short walk away from numerpus eateries on Holly St, Raymond, Fair Oaks ave( my favorite is King Taco and Bone Kettle. Great comvenience that should be included at all Metro train staions are free timed restroom modules...this one has one. It's free and just south of the train staion and is accessible by your cell phone.

I usually go on a 2 to 3 mile walk once a week or so along the bike path from Van Nuys Station and this is usually my destination point before turning around or feeling it in my legs and catching the Orange Line back to wear I started. I've worked up the street from here in the past (even earlier this year before switching to remote) and would often board or dock here off Burbank. Being the Valley College stop... A lot of people usually get on and/or get off here... It's a great stop for connecting with the DASH or other municipal buses nearby (though not many)... and as the third to last stop before NoHo Station it serves as a great source of public transportation for the area. It's pretty cool that both Pierce and Valley have Orange Line stops/locations... One of the only downsides is from Woodman to Laurel Canyon Stations there isn't any parking for people in the area... Possibly due to being more residential than other stops...

I regularly take this station every week to get to LA Valley College. It has never failed me, takes me here from the North Hollywood station within 8-12 minutes which compared to other bus routes is commendable. It's outdoor so of course, during the night, it will get chilly. But ladies, rest assured, I was here alone many nights and I was never once approached, never once harrassed, never once bothered. I just sat at my little seat and listened to my iPod or read a book. The bus runs really late here, and unfortunately when my class gets out I'm not in time for the often-run rush hour period. But waiting eight to ten minutes is fine when you time it right. There's an electronic board which tells you how close a bus is and how many minutes away it is. By no means, like anything else, is it perfect, but right by Sharky's, Glatt's Market, a couple of Thai and donut places, and a college - how close is that to perfection? Disregard any outrageously negative review you see that doesn't go into detail as to why it deserved less than three stars.

If you know me, you know I despise driving - it makes me feel so lazy! As a runner it just doesn't ever make sense to drive a car less miles than I can jog but often it's just necessary. Unfortunately there aren't many opportunities for me to ride the metro in LA. I have however started taking it each time I go to theatre. It definitely feels far less utilized and common in LA than it does in other cities (domestic and abroad) but I'm totally satisfied with the quick trips I make around town when I do. I always keep a couple tap cards in my handbags so I'm ready when it's time. It's a bit cringe that I even have to drive my car to the metro stop but it is what it is. They've also been charging for parking for several years now, but you'll quickly learn in LA similar to NY this will still run you far less than valet or parking at certain places. I'd highly encourage choosing the metro over driving or ubering any day in most any city. $1.75 each way and no sitting in nauseating traffic is a win for me. I often ride solo or with a friend no issues either way.

Pershing Square Station is a multi-access metro station in the heart of Downtown LA…read more You can access both the Red (B) Line and Purple (D) Line below ground as well as the Silver (J) Line above ground. It runs under Hill Street between 4th and 5th, with one main entrance/exit hub on 5th & Hill Street directly across from Pershing Square and two entrance/exit points on 4th & Hill Street parallel from each other. One on the same side as Angel's Flight and the other on the same side as Grand Central Market. Like any metro station you can find kiosk or purchasing, reloading or checking the balance of physical tap cards needed to ride metro below. You can find elevator access both at 5th as well as on the northwest side of 4th (same side as Angel's Flight). Trains run through here between 4am to 1am weekly, which if you're planning for a later night until close at your local watering hole, lounge, bar, speakeasy or nightclub ride share, a sober friend or the city metro busses are likely to be your chariot. They have been making some improvements and there are motions to extend things back to 2:30/3 am as they were prior to 2020. P.S. Station is one I know well from DTLA Proud and Summer Concerts at Pershing Square to adventures to the Last Book Store, meals at Beelman's, round treats at Donut Friend, concerts at The Regent plus trips to their Love Song Bar and also Prufrock Pizzeria for their adobe fries! Still typically busy during the day and on weekends with frequent service in the morning, afternoon and early evening with less frequency by 8 to 9pm. There isn't any direct metro parking for those riding from Pershing Square, but the Pershing Square Garage is 24 hours with a $9 flat rate + $20 max limit, overnight pricing. Other garages and lots in the area, but not all are late night or 24/7. They're doing their best to keep this station clean and safer, but that also means when need to do are part to when riding green/going metro :)

I have also most recently used the metro to head into Hollywood and catch a show at the Pantages. The North Hollywood metro is at the end of the line and heads all the way to Union Station. There is a Throne bathroom that was recently installed so you can use the restroom. There is also a large parking lot so you can pay for cheap parking and then ride the metro to your desired destination. They also recently added those gate entrances to tap out to ensure that everyone had paid for the metro and didn't just jump the turnstiles. Overall a good station that I used frequently. Maybe not as frequently as Universal City since I live directly in between the two but a good one nonetheless.

Presumably hearing the complaints of the public asking for a safer transit experience so that more people in our city are likely to make use of public transport, Metro has decided to add in a frankly absurd number of "metro security" whose job it is to harass the general public. I was sitting on a bench downstairs in the station (having already tapped in and paid!) waiting for my friends to arrive so we could ride together. My friends were delayed due to traffic and I was approached by one of these "security" (and I do mean to use the term loosely) who told me that I was being kicked out of the station as I had been sitting there for 15 minutes without getting onto a train. I explained that I was waiting for my friends and that they would be arriving in the next 15 minutes but were delayed and this "security" employee outright told me he did not care and that I was kicked out. When I obviously came back 10 minutes later with said friends, I pointed him directly out to my friends and all of a sudden this "security" ducked his head and tried to hide. Seeing as how this is how they treat me, I can only imagine how awful they must be to others they view as beneath them. Truly an insane experience that I have never ever had before for all my years of riding.

This line so far has been reliable Westbound, so it gets me to work. Going home is another story…read more The 20 is still faster in that case, and the passengers are cooler. (I can't tell you how many times I've walked all the way to Beverly and Wilshire and waited forever while watching two 20s breeze past, then three buses arrive at once, all of them packed, even at 9pm!) But the drivers on the 20 are weird. One guy bugged me to take him on as my personal trainer, and they make it impossible to transfer. There's no rhyme or reason to it, and one woman got downright nasty about making me pay the full fare even with a transfer. I haven't made the leap to invest in the pass yet. Every once in a while, the 20 will try to lure me back, but it's like that ex you can never trust.
