I have also most recently used the metro to head into Hollywood and catch a show at the Pantages. The North Hollywood metro is at the end of the line and heads all the way to Union Station. There is a Throne bathroom that was recently installed so you can use the restroom. There is also a large parking lot so you can pay for cheap parking and then ride the metro to your desired destination. They also recently added those gate entrances to tap out to ensure that everyone had paid for the metro and didn't just jump the turnstiles. Overall a good station that I used frequently. Maybe not as frequently as Universal City since I live directly in between the two but a good one nonetheless.

Presumably hearing the complaints of the public asking for a safer transit experience so that more people in our city are likely to make use of public transport, Metro has decided to add in a frankly absurd number of "metro security" whose job it is to harass the general public. I was sitting on a bench downstairs in the station (having already tapped in and paid!) waiting for my friends to arrive so we could ride together. My friends were delayed due to traffic and I was approached by one of these "security" (and I do mean to use the term loosely) who told me that I was being kicked out of the station as I had been sitting there for 15 minutes without getting onto a train. I explained that I was waiting for my friends and that they would be arriving in the next 15 minutes but were delayed and this "security" employee outright told me he did not care and that I was kicked out. When I obviously came back 10 minutes later with said friends, I pointed him directly out to my friends and all of a sudden this "security" ducked his head and tried to hide. Seeing as how this is how they treat me, I can only imagine how awful they must be to others they view as beneath them. Truly an insane experience that I have never ever had before for all my years of riding.

Upon arrival to the parking lot, you pay for parking either online or kiosk there. Then, you can use your digital tap card on phone to pay or also get card at kiosk. The subway from union station to NoHo and back, comes by every 10 minutes, making this very accessible and quickly gets you to your destination. I was in Hollywood before 5pm and knocked out the traffic ahead. There are restrooms outside this station as well. There is also plenty of metro securities and police circulating around the station and checking fares. Best tip: always be aware of your surroundings and take with caution. Overall, I had a pleasant, inexpensive and quick ride to Hollywood in no time.

At 5am, the operating room bright lights are extreme before your eyeballs are awake. Also, the bench style seats along the side wall of the train forcing you to face-off with those on the other side. Feels uncomfortable making sure you're not staring someone down. Overall, the Metro does keeping trying to make their experience better, so that's commendable and appreciated.

Does slow down in the later afternoon/evening and throughout the night. You can refill or purchase a physical metro tap card at either kiosk east or westbound side. As far as parking and riding metro you're limited to street parking which can have some restrictions as it's most residential, but if you're local to the area this may not even be and issue otherwise the Van Nuys (free), Sepulveda (free) and NoHo Stations ($3 daily) are the closests with parking lots.

I usually go on a 2 to 3 mile walk once a week or so along the bike path from Van Nuys Station and this is usually my destination point before turning around or feeling it in my legs and catching the Orange Line back to wear I started. I've worked up the street from here in the past (even earlier this year before switching to remote) and would often board or dock here off Burbank. Being the Valley College stop... A lot of people usually get on and/or get off here... It's a great stop for connecting with the DASH or other municipal buses nearby (though not many)... and as the third to last stop before NoHo Station it serves as a great source of public transportation for the area. It's pretty cool that both Pierce and Valley have Orange Line stops/locations... One of the only downsides is from Woodman to Laurel Canyon Stations there isn't any parking for people in the area... Possibly due to being more residential than other stops...

I regularly take this station every week to get to LA Valley College. It has never failed me, takes me here from the North Hollywood station within 8-12 minutes which compared to other bus routes is commendable. It's outdoor so of course, during the night, it will get chilly. But ladies, rest assured, I was here alone many nights and I was never once approached, never once harrassed, never once bothered. I just sat at my little seat and listened to my iPod or read a book. The bus runs really late here, and unfortunately when my class gets out I'm not in time for the often-run rush hour period. But waiting eight to ten minutes is fine when you time it right. There's an electronic board which tells you how close a bus is and how many minutes away it is. By no means, like anything else, is it perfect, but right by Sharky's, Glatt's Market, a couple of Thai and donut places, and a college - how close is that to perfection? Disregard any outrageously negative review you see that doesn't go into detail as to why it deserved less than three stars.

This is the third time I've decided to not use the Burbank Bus in the past 3yrs. Below is a…read moredetailed list of what's been done to me in the past year: Driver L: I asked for the ramp & I was refused. Instead, she forced me to stretch my legs and strain myself to get on the bus. Then she said see I knew you could do it. I have severe mobility issues, a history of falling, and an access disable bus card. It doesn't matter to them. On several occasions this driver has watched me get up, once I do, the driver hits the brakes and I get slammed into the pole/handhold. Finally, 99% of the time this driver pulls up too far from the curb, loading & unloading. All drivers cater to the people taking the train in to Burbank then bussing it to their job. The drivers wait for said working class until 5 minutes passed takeoff time. But they won't wait for me. On several occasions they have left me even though I wave my hand for them to wait. Additionally, all but 1 driver pretend not to see me then at the last minute pull over, same for dropping me off, going past my stop. All of them ask me where I'm going but no one else. They also don't wait for me to sit down. And when I board the working class or non-disabled sit in the priority handicap seats; not offering me a seat & the driver says nothing either. Also, I've been asked to get off the back which is street level not curb level so their working class can load in the front. There are 2 passengers that continually harass me once I load by rubbing & touching themselves. Driver L told me last week that their passengers can do whatever they want to me as long as they say nothing; but one passenger did called me a terrorist. Driver J: has yelled at me, passed me by, stop 2 feet from the curb loading & unloading but not to anyone else. He refuses to let me sit after I tap my card. Driver C & L stop the bus at my stop then as soon as I stand, grab my bags, & start to walk up the aisle they put the bus in motion almost causing me to fall. I have called & called the switchboard but nothing happens but fallout. Why am I treated this way? I don't work, I'm retired I am homeless I am a senior All of the above is discrimation [reported] as they choose who they're nice, too!!

NOTE: Tried to discuss with Owner concerns from last trip. Got back response (attached). Owner…read moreknows I've been loyal thru Covid and referred business. I can only speak about my experiences. For that loyalty, you can see the response. I can only post accurately what this car service offers... On this last trip, when I suggest we might wish to move up to a slightly earlier time, I get back a rude text I need to 'be on time', he's has another job right after. The REASON you hire a pro car service is so you can relax, not stress - the last thing you want is to be told curtly to 'be on time' as they've got another Client RIGHT AFTER. That again is after a year and a half of loyal business and referrals. I initially posted a good review before even booking, as Oleg had been polite and was interested in my work. I post I "look forward to our first trip..." A few bookings in (have done about 7-8 runs with the Owner), this is what you might expect: SUV door is not opened. No water for passengers; no chargers for phones (if you need one, he will unplug his for you). SUV sometimes dirty, sometimes clean (apologies were made the 2nd time; figured, okay, sometimes that happens... but you ARE hoping for a clean car...) Drivers do not wear professional clothes, but the rates are reasonable, and Owner is on time. The Owner even on our first run, was as he is DRIVING, looking at his phone for texts, taking calls, speaking loudly to employees or family, dealing with 'other business'. You of course want your Driver keeping their eyes on road, focused on the business at hand, treating you like a Client. Safe, professional, courteous. 2nd Trip: pick up at LAX: no sign held up to easily spot driver after traveling cross country exhausted. No cart for baggage. I carry my heavy equipment backpack, no offer made to carry it. Third trip, I mention I'd prefer him not be handling all these calls at night while driving; I get a somewhat rude response, then he reverses and says he understands and awkward silence until drop off. It is dark, close to 11 at night, and no offer was made to help me with bags up to my place. I ask if he will do so. Owner always asks if you want to leave a tip. To be honest, there were times I didn't feel a 20% or even %15 was warranted (he'd done minimum, talking loudly the whole drive, taking calls, texting) and no amenities - not even opening door to climb into an SUV. You're picked up, dropped off, and listen to him take calls; but I tip 20%-25%. The 4th or 5th trip he has another driver pick me up (Alex) who also does not help me (10 PM) to carry bags and make sure I am safely at door. THIS time I do try to have an conversation with Owner; he gets defensive, almost hostile, THEN backs down and says he can see it from 'my point of view' (??? it's pitch black outside, the female client is exhausted - THAT'S why you hire a car service, and not an Uber or a Taxi). Cut to a 6 month pause; the Studios booking my trips are using other car services, and I'm reminded what a car service can be: driver coming to your door without being asked, polite and welcoming. Car is clean, water in the cupholder. Chargers for client in back. At airport, sign held up so at least you can spot in a crowded baggage area; a cart waiting for luggage, immediately offering to carry everything. Music offered, and certainly no texting and phone calls / conversations going on while you're exhausted having just travelled (even UBER drivers don't do this). Upon parking, opening your door, gathering luggage, walking you to door. A nice, relaxing experience. Last trip as I got off of flight after a long weekend nonstop work, no sleep, I accidentally walked past Owner as he was on a call talking and, again, no sign. I'm exhausted. I carry my equipment backpack - no offer is made to carry it until we're standing at crosswalk over 3 minutes and I mention I'm struggling. Car is not freshly washed; evidence of last rainfall. Loud calls coming in (his ringtone is on speaker so loud I jump, he apologizes for the 2nd time that booking); more calls. I'm tired, but trying to relax and deal with some business (again - why you hire a car rather than driving yourself). The Owner (who has driven me several times) literally asks me where my house is on my street... "Is it a little further down?" I ask if he has my address - I have no idea from direction we're coming from as I'm half asleep. He parks SUV in the middle of the driveway, so I ask him please to pull over so cars can get in and out. He tells me how rude my neighbors are. As he has not opened my door, I try to get out, door won't open, so I call out to please help. He carries my bags to my door, and asks if I want to tip this trip and the last one. I tip over 20%. Today I text offering to speak so we can clear the air, perhaps help him understand client POV, and get back the text attached. Thank you. Kathryn
