So happy I did! The hospital is nice and clean, all of the techs and the ladies at reception are beyond kind! I love interacting with them and they always offer water/tea/coffee while I wait, which is never long. Dr. Moss is very nice and knowledgeable and definitely doesn't suggest doing anything unnecessary. This team really does care about your pets. I actually chatted with another client the first time that I went there and she mentioned in all her years living in the South Bay, that she has been to 15 or so different vets for her pets and At Your Service has been the best so far. This in addition to the great service really made an impact for me. Highly recommend!

After my longtime veterinarian closed in November 2025, I needed to find a new vet. Around that…read moretime, my 4-year-old cat, Pannapita, developed a small, hard lump on her thigh. I first took her to an urgent care veterinarian, where she was examined and X-rayed. Because the lump was so small, they explained that a fine needle aspirate (FNA) likely wouldn't be useful yet. They discussed several possible causes, including scar tissue, a lipoma, or a reaction related to a previous vaccine, and recommended either biopsying it or monitoring it. I chose to monitor it. A few months later, I established care with Dr. Jarrod Moss at At Your Service Vet. During one visit, I brought both of my cats. My appointment primarily became focused on my male cat, but when the technician took Pannapita back for her vaccines, I specifically asked that they not vaccinate her in the leg with the existing lump. I planned to schedule a separate appointment to have the lump examined. About two months later, the lump suddenly became much larger, and I immediately scheduled an appointment. I explained the entire history, including that the lump had been present months before the vaccines at this clinic. Dr. Moss suggested it could be an inflammatory response to the vaccine his clinic had administered. When I explained that I had specifically requested they avoid that leg because the lump already existed, he stated that they "always" vaccinate in the left thigh and that the chart reflected that. I reiterated that the lump predated the vaccines at his clinic and that my primary concern was simply determining what the lump actually was. The discussion became uncomfortable. I mentioned that the previous veterinarian had discussed the possibility of a vaccine-related tissue reaction, and Dr. Moss responded that "there's no such thing as a vaccine injury." At that point, I was simply trying to understand whether the lump could be cancerous and asked if it was finally large enough for an FNA. They performed the test, but I left the appointment in tears because the conversation felt unnecessarily combative during a very stressful situation. When I got home, I started researching what the previous veterinarian may have been referring to. I came across feline injection-site fibrosarcoma (FISS), a rare cancer that has been associated with inflammation at the site of an injection in some cats. At that moment, I realized that what I had been trying to describe during the appointment was very similar to what I had found. I wasn't trying to diagnose my cat or suggest that anyone had caused it--I was simply trying to understand whether this lump could be cancerous. When the previous veterinarian mentioned a possible vaccine-related tissue reaction months earlier, I had assumed she meant harmless scar tissue. By the time I saw Dr. Moss, my only concern was finding out what the lump was and whether my cat had cancer. Two days later, Dr. Moss called while I missed the call by only a few seconds. I immediately called back but was placed on hold for 9 minutes and then told he was with a patient and would call me back. That call never came. Over the next several days, I repeatedly called the office asking for the results. Each time I was told he was busy or that there were no results in the chart yet, despite the fact that he had already called saying he had information. By Monday, after nearly five days of waiting, my husband went to the office in person. Dr. Moss then informed him that my cat had cancer. My husband had to call and tell me the diagnosis. We initially scheduled surgery there because we felt we had little choice, but after reflecting on our experience--and after learning from the client who referred me that she had also had a negative experience--I decided to seek treatment elsewhere. Pannapita underwent surgery with another veterinarian and is now doing well, for which I am incredibly grateful. I understand that every veterinarian has different communication styles, and I know medicine isn't always straightforward. My concern was never that the diagnosis wasn't made months earlier, nor am I suggesting anyone caused my cat's cancer. My concern was the communication throughout the process. I felt dismissed when I was trying to understand what was happening, and waiting nearly five days to receive a cancer diagnosis after multiple phone calls was heartbreaking and added unnecessary stress during one of the most difficult experiences I've had as a pet owner. This was my personal experience, i wish it could have been different, i have loved every vet i had had since being a pet owner so this was a huge bummer, i have 2 cats and im such a loyal client.

One groomer called his to pick him up because he wouldn't allow them to touch him at all. He bit another groomer. Another veterinary clinic prescribed him anti anxiety medication which didn't work. We placed a muzzle on him and the veterinarian brought in the best vet tech ever! He tightened the muzzle, held and pet Carson during the exam. The tech also cleaned his butt, expressed his anal glands and clipped the matted fur around his face and on top of his head. He looks great! This is the same dog that required two vet techs to double muzzle him to put medicated drops in his ear and after 30 minutes, came back and told us that they were unsuccessful. The office staff went out of the way to call our previous veterinary clinic to obtain vaccination dates as the previous clinic redacted all dates on the records that they forwarded. Costs were clearly explained and agreed to before work was done. Veterinarian suggested trying to clip areas around the muzzle rather than sedate him. She was patient and listened to our concerns. My friend told me about AHSBRH's puppy wellness package which includes all the necessary shots and vaccines for a puppy's first year for $500. I compared prices and found out that if a person buys the puppy package, you'd be saving a ton of money for the necessary shots versus paying for shots individually elsewhere. Sold! We brought our pups in and they received their first examinations and shots. Easy peasy! The location is pretty modern, looks like a new, modern, medical clinic or dentistry office. We walked in and were greeted by happy and nice front staff members. After checking in, they walked all of us into room 1 and we waited for the vet and her assistant. Unfortunately as of this week I am leaving this practice with my dogs. Long story short, I scheduled a follow up ultrasound for one of my dogs and when I paid that deposit and made the appointment I specifically asked that it be noted in her chart that to the extent possible not to shave her. The dog is a champion show dog and already registered for a specialty in europe in a few weeks, with flights already booked and now the thousands already spent is completely wasted. I have had dozens of ultrasounds done in the last 15 years, both echocardiograms to abdominal ultrasounds and this dog in particular just had an ultrasound in late december. This was a follow up ultrasound and the practice shaved her entire underside and half way up her flank. Her coat will not recover from this for months, possibly for the year. I spoke with the practice manager and was basically told the doctor found it necessary, which is fine. The vet very well may have thought it necessary, but since it directly contradicts the owner's request on her chart, I should have been contacted before that happened so that I could decide to cancel her ultrasound and take her to another practice or some other solution. In fact when I dropped her off in the morning for intake, I was specifically asked to leave my phone number in case I had to be contacted regarding the procedure. The hospital had my number, and decided to just proceed how they wanted to. Completely unacceptable.

Our boy had some spinal issues amongst other things as he got older, and Dr. Moeller was always honest when it came to his prognosis and also never pushed unnecessary treatment or medications. When she did advocate for treatment, I followed her lead and I am glad I did because it helped our guy live his final days somewhat comfortable before we had to say the hardest goodbye. The prices are also extremely fair coming from another clinic in Hermosa beach that was very high compared to this practice. I was beyond disappointed with my experience at this clinic…read more From the very beginning, the customer service over the phone was poor. I had to call to reschedule my appointment, and the experience was frustrating. I requested a Friday appointment, but they scheduled me for Thursday instead. Then, after rescheduling, they never canceled my original appointment. The staff came across as impatient and, at times, rude. Unfortunately, the experience only got worse once I arrived. The appointment felt more like a financial transaction than a vet visit. Before the vet came into the room, I told the staff that my dog doesn't like his back legs or ears being touched. I shared this so they could approach him appropriately and make the visit as comfortable as possible for him. The vet did not perform a physical examination or even attempt to examine him. Instead, the visit consisted of telling me which vaccines he was due for. She then left the room, and I was left wondering what exactly I had paid the $70 exam fee for, considering the entire visit consisted of her saying, "Well, he's due for all his vaccines." I also asked for a refill of Bravecto. The receptionist who came into the room to discuss pricing told me that if I did not complete the $60-80 heartworm test, they would not provide the refill. Since Bravecto itself is a flea and tick medication and does not require heartworm testing, this felt like another unexpected expense added to the visit rather than a clearly communicated medical recommendation. To make matters worse, the vet prescribed anxiety medication for my dog and told me I had to either purchase it immediately or, if I wanted to think about it and come back later, I would have to pay another $70 exam fee just to have the prescription written again. That policy felt incredibly frustrating and came across as prioritizing revenue over patient care. Overall, the entire experience felt like it was about money at every turn rather than providing thoughtful, compassionate care for my dog. I left feeling unheard, disappointed, and with very little confidence that my dog's best interests were the priority. I will not be returning to this clinic, and I would encourage others to look for a vet practice that places more emphasis on quality care, communication, and building trust with pet owners rather than maximizing charges.
