Confederation Park has been a part of my life pretty much forever. I've been coming here since I…read morewas a kid, and it's still one of my favourite spots in Hamilton to just get outside and enjoy the waterfront. It's a great place for walking, biking, rollerblading, or just relaxing by the water. On a really clear day, you can even see CN Tower and the Toronto skyline across the lake, which is always cool to spot. Adventure Village is a cute little mini park area nearby that kids will especially love, and while Wild Water Works is just okay in my opinion, it's still a fun option on a hot summer day. One of the true classics here is Hutch's on the Beach. We've been going there for years for fries, fish & chips, and ice cream...though it can get SUPER packed during peak times. There are also some other nice-looking spots like Barangas on the Beach that add to the area's appeal. Unfortunately, over the last few years the park has definitely become more crowded and more litter-filled, which is disappointing. But despite that, I've still always enjoyed my time here and have a lot of nostalgia attached to this place.

We were here for a small running event on the long weekend. My husband did an 8K run. It was around…read morethe beach. The weather was a bit chilly, it told him about 28 mins to finish and age group 2nd place award. There was fruit for him afterward. The beach was beautiful, people around were so nice that helped us to take some pictures. The beach line was long, I felt I had burnt lots of calories. Residents around could run, bike, or swim there. This is a great place to relax in summer.

There is an entrance fee, so I would…read moresuggest getting the Ontario Parks pass from your local library to enter and to park for free. This is a nice park with lots of hiking trails and lush woods, offering plenty of shades on a sunny day. The only trail that allows you to go down to the creek is #6 Half Moon Valley Trail. I would also recommend #4 Lookout Ravine Trail which is almost completely covered by trees and would be beautiful in the fall. You shouldn't miss the famous White Oak Tree, likely germinated since 1685 and at least 300 years old, close to parking lot A. The Spruce Lane Farmhouse is another highlight near parking lot F, which is a Victorian-style house showing visitors what life was like back then. The antique furniture, well-decorated rooms, farm equipment, and friendly volunteers wearing Victorian costumes gave us an immersive experience at the farm. The only problem is that the amenities are a bit dated, especially with the signage. The park staffs should hand out free maps as you enter the park, and there should be more directions as to where you are. I often had to rely on Google to check location and the pre-downloaded map from their website. The swimming pool remains under renovation as of summer 2024, so the park is not yet at its full potential.

The trails are clean, managed and you can see the arborist do a good job maintaining the overall trail. It's a really nice scenic escape from city life; I can see ski and bike trails. There is even a mini farm. There are some really nice vantage points where you can see the water and treeline, so it might be nice to return in the fall. Definitely returning here :)

This can get expensive with a large family Gets pretty busy in the summer time Smaller beach compared to the other ones in Ontario Restaurants are about a 5-10mins walk away so it's best to bring your own lunch and a cooler of drinks with snacks If you're looking for a clean beach and don't mind paying for the parking and admission this is the beach for you. I think charging for entrance is ridiculous. Washrooms is very limited and everyone has to wait in line to change and wash their legs. Families washroom is dirty and smelly. I would think since there is a charged for entrance the facilities provided would be better than other beaches.Living in Toronto and driving down 2 hrs to see this is definately NOT WORTH IT....might as well go to beach that is free, you get the same feeling plus save money. Highly NOT recommended !!!
