Where to begin with this shop. 1 over priced 2 has no clue about quality 3 needs to be shut down. I work for a large company we requested special patches to be designed per our specifications and time of need for the patches and what the owner turned out was absolute garbage. If you need quality patches I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend going else where and if you even argue a tiny bit about price or quality the owner who is not a true local gets nasty with you. If you want work done quality work find a true Washington local that deserves your business not this second had quality scam artist. Excellent communication, great customer service, a willingness to improvise, and a positive, upbeat, "Can do!" attitude! When one of our artists dropped the ball on a large needlework installation piece, and we had an insanely tight deadline to get it done (during the Christmas rush, of course!), Ismail kept his cool and let me spend as much time as I needed looking through his embroidery catalogue to design exactly what I needed. He listened well, asked intelligent questions and perhaps, most importantly, he treated me with respect and did *NOT* condescend to me because I'm female. Sent a message to Vancouver Custom Embroidery asking about embroidery for our 1963 Shasta 1500 we are restoring. We were looking to have our seats embroidered to help make them look sharp. The email was sent after hours figured would get a response the following day. Ismail responded shortly after I sent the email. I sent a picture of what we were looking for he provided a quote and timeframe for turnaround on the work. Ismail was able to take our picture and turn it into a digital file. I dropped by the material that we are using for the upholstery and Ismail helped me pick up colors that would look good for our seats. It had been a couple of days since he had quoted the turnaround time to me so I asked if he was still looking at the same time frame he mentioned previously. Ismail said that he would be able to meet that turnaround time still but would call if he can get done sooner. I received a call a couple of days after dropping off the material letting me know that he was done and the seat material was ready to be picked up. Upon my arrival at his shop, Ismail showed me his work. I was blown away. It looked really good and was everything I had hoped for. I took a picture and sent it to the upholstery shop that is building my seats and they were blown away by how sharp it looked. Vancouver Custom Embroidery did a great job on our work. I recommend them to anyone needing embroidery work done. Ismail is a pleasure to deal with and his work looks great! read more

Did not end up using this store. First the owner was super responsive through e-mail but I visited the store and it was closed. No sign or any reason for it to be closed. I called the store again and the owner answered and asked me to wait an hour for him to come back. Once I was able to discuss with the owner to get some custom work done, his price was extremely higher than other embroidery shops around the Vancouver area. I am sure their work is great and looking at the other reviews, seems like a great shop. The price and the way business was ran just wasn't my cup of tea. On to the next one. read more

Bought my nieces cute sleeping bags for Christmas and I wanted to embroider their names on them. I knew they would be using these bags for camping so I tried to buy nice warm bags. I took them to the mall to a temporary,seasonal embroidery store. They told me that the sleeping bags were too thick for their hoops and they wouldn't be able to do them. They said normally the names were embroidered on the top layer before it is sewn together. I was so disappointed. So I started calling around to other embroidery shops and most of them don't do personal items. You have to buy their product (ie shirts, hats etc) and then they will embroider it for you. But when I called A'J's they said they could do it. Only draw back. they are only open Monday thru Friday 10:30 to 5:30. So I sent my husband there the next day with the sleeping bags. He dropped them off at about 10:30 a.m. The woman there said it would be a challenge but she would figure something out. About 12:30p.m he got a call saying that the sleeping bags were already done! He had already driven home to Portland and asked to pick them up the next day. She agreed & when he showed up the next day the girls there were so nice. They gave him a complimentary Calender & pens. They said 1 of the bags was pretty hard but they managed. They looked great & my nieces loved them. read more

No comments on the work but the frustration came with the irregular hours this business keeps. The sign says open at 10:30 but I have gone by to pick up my items several times after 11:00 and they still are not open. It is just not worth the effort in doing business with them.
