It has been a while since we were at VGH. My husband is wheelchair bound and has a brain injury. After a fall in 2016 he was never able to walk again. He used to be able to stand but hasn't in a long time. For his care when he was home I always took him to VGH because they took very good care of him. The other day we were at VGH. I had great reviews and deleted all because of one person. She was an intern so to me she was still in training with a very bad attitude. My husband had a catheter in and she insisted that it came out so she took it out. He is in a nursing home so if he had gone home with it still on a nurse could have removed it. She insisted he go to a doctor office for a test. He can't transfer to another bed or anything else. I tried to tell her this and she didn't seem to care and insisted he go to someone's office for this test. I believe she was the reason he was released way too early with the same problem as when he came in. The nurses tried to get a urologist to come check things before he went home and no one came. There was still a lot of blood when he got released. About 24 hours after going home he was back with the same problems. They had to put in another catheter. I have never had one which I assume they are very painful. I think these interns should report everything that is going on with the doctor and the doctor should be the one to determine a patients needs. They have all the experience and can determine a patients needs then an intern who is still learning. The doctor should have come down after the intern. It should also be investigated when a patient returns with the same problem and who was the one who determined they should go home. It is going to cost us extra for two ambulances and two transports home. When he returned to the hospital even a nurse said what I thought why was the first catheter removed. At least now he is resting peacefully and the care he is getting is so far a thousand times better. There were a few nurses who seemed extremely stressed but with the job they do it is to be expected. Thank you for all you do to take care of my husband as well as all the patients who need your care. Next time I know I will give 5 stars. I just changed to 5 star. Big difference from early in the week. The staff have been amazing and I haven't seen the one who prematurely sent my husband home. He was admitted and is getting the care he really needs. Vancouver doesn't give you options when it comes to finding a quality hospitals. While the doctors do their best to care for patients, the communication with patients is trash. Rude nurses and an undeniable hurry to send you away at all costs. The patient's wishes for line of treatment are not taken under consideration. People are forced to be in chairs regardless of the condition they are in (puking, in pain or else) they seem to kick you out as soon as they can.. even when your symptoms haven't subsided yet. So if you are severely dehydrated it's ok to leave if you are mildly dehydrated. You are in pain? They will give you a pill of Tylenol and tell you that your uncontrollable puking didn't affect the medicine. My friend had to use it 2 times and all her experiences. were horrible. Recently I had the most unpleasant disagreement with one of the nursing staff, LEAH. Fortunately the supervising nurse KELSEY arrived in time to save the day. Unfortunately found ourselves in need of urgent care following a nasty fall which turned out to be a displaced wrist fracture. Could not have been more pleased with care, professionalism and outcome. We were quickly seen, evaluated and treated by compassionate and competent staff which allowed us to resume our vacation with minimal interruption. I want to emergency about my heart. Everyone from the ambulance forward were very kind, efficient, and put me at ease and answered questions. They saw me immediately, gave me an ECG, X-ray, contrast CT scan, did blood work, treated me, checked on me, and sent me home feeling reassured with a prescription and a referral to a cardiologist for further discussion. The staff was hardworking, pleasant and conscientious the entire time, despite being constantly busy. I'm very glad the ambulance took me to VGH. read more

I have to say this hospital is trying its best due to short staffing. There are volunteers but again volunteers are volunteers and you can't expect them to have the same responsibility as paid staff. Had relatives and immediate family sent here before. The staff are very helpful in locating the patient. But I did find that some of the nurses that work here are not as caring as they were back in the old days. Its probably because they see it as work and a way to make ends meet and not it was once a passion. Its sad to come here every time. Staff can be unstable and very informative at times (unless you are there and are really talking to the right nurse or right doctor). You could be like going there to visit your relative and realize your relative changed room without you knowing and you freaking out. yes that is a scary experience!!! read more

I had to come and visit this hospital's ER recently because I had a major discomfort in my abdomen area and such. As it turns out, I had an infection and was sent up to another location in the hospital for recovery. In the end, I had to stay for a few days to take antibiotics and the nurses that took cared of me were very nice and friendly to me, as well as the doctors and surgeons that came to see me were helpful with trying to determine what to do with my condition. Luckily in the end, I didn't have anything serious other than the infection and at most, I just had to take some antibiotics at home and cover the infected wound with gauze after cleaning it. The only problem I had was the old classic case of bad hospital food... lol well... it wasn't all that bad but.... well.... let's just say I'm glad I didn't die from it haha :) read more

Took my wife in because she had an episode of siezures, they took 8 vials of blood and told us nothing of the results. Then they would'nt let me wait with her despite the fact she was very out of it and could not advocate for herself. Then without even seeing a doctor they gave her a double dose of siezure pills and sent her on her way. No further tests. They have no clue what caused the siezures, had no further information to give. Just said take experinental pills as a blanket fix!. We told them we want to have a child next year and even though you cannot conceive on these pills, they insist on giving us their rhetoric of how it COULD be better for her with ZERO reasons to say so other than their OPINION which as far as i can see is no better than any other person who ALSO DID NOT DO TESTS TO CONFIRM!! You only have not NOT be mentally challenged to aee that they don't care for your wellbeing. They just want to push pills along with their own misguided and uninformed oppinions with literally nothing else to go on than there nametag said drrrrrr on it I don't care that mommy and daddy didn't mind spending 200k to make sure they had an easy life. I come to the hospital for medical help, not spoiled rich kids acting like a know-it-all when they cant even tell you WHAT A SIEZURE IS LET ALONE WHAT ITS CAUSED BY! im sorry but I've seen what nurses do for a siezure and its literally what i already had to do and nothing more . lazy people claiming they are busy when ive been there many times and NEVER seen ANYONE move quickly or act like their rushed in ANY WAY... besides the security staff when a drug addict got loose.... But thats not even the same company. They are not busy, i work in construction where there are time limits and quotas. Most people understand that the medical definition of an emergency involves an immediate threat to life and limb. On the afternoon I went to the Emergency room of the VGH, there were many people waiting, or being triaged. None of them were in a condition remotely approximating the definition. I had just sustained a workplace related injury, completely severing a tendon, and my hand was encased in a blood soaked bandage still dripping blood. I anticipated that I would be in for a long wait, as I was not in any immediate danger. The others being triaged, or waiting to see a physician, were not dripping in blood, passed out on the floor, or otherwise incapacitated; they could have easily gone to a walk in clinic, and would have been attended to faster had they done so. An hour after arriving, I was shown to an examination room. As I waited to be seen, I could immediately see-and hear-through the open door to the ER that Canada's healthcare is in a state of crisis...from too many whinging douchebags. The hospital has to take each claim made by patients as legitimate, and the stories told by most of my fellow patients that day made me even sicker, as most of them were either spurious, or completely exaggerated. It took three hours for the doctors to make their way through all these douchebags until they eventually arrived at my still dripping hand. They dealt with me professionally, and courteously, as, indeed, I noted they dealt with everyone that night, even all the whiny douchebags. My hand was operated on that evening, and I was extremely impressed with the finesse and precision of the doctor's skills. I was discharged at midnight, and I was so thankful to be going home. Really first rate experience. Lately, I will add that if you truly prize our health services, it's probably not a brilliant idea for Canada to be mass importing almost the same number of people into our country each year as live in Vancouver, or approximately 500K. The health system ( indeed, our whole infrastructure) can never accommodate those numbers. This Trudeau vanity project represents a systemic threat, and most be eliminated. read more

Please note, this review is only based on the Emergency Clinic of VGH. Ok this is a tough one. VGH's emergency room is notorious for long wait times and the unfortunate recent trip to hospital-land with a sick friend did nothing to alleviate that perception. In fact, we waited over two hours before we even saw a doctor and the visit was a seven hour stint in total.. ugh. But interestingly, since my last few visits to ER were in the middle of the night, on what I guess were mundane weekdays and significantly shorter in time - the seven hours, much of which involved time where my friend was being accessed, asleep or in need of complete quiet, gave me the time to note a few misperceptions of my own. Ok. I've always said, though efficient, the reception staff here are pretty brisk. A nod, a signature and then they turf you elsewhere - not a whole lot of warm and fuzzes in this area. But after sitting in a waiting room for two hours and listening to each and every person go to to desk at least three times to ask/complain about the wait, one gentleman even cursing them with names i'm not going to repeat and then storming off - I kinda get it. God knows it would be hard to be Mary Sunshine with all that in your face. But I will say - when the adorable grandmother was searching for where to put her file, instead of pointing gruffly at a sign, that she then needed to put her glasses on to read, which involved digging through her purse and dropping things. You could have shown a little love. She was adorable. So yes - they are gruff - but I darn well couldn't do what they do and I AM Mary Freaking Sunshine 90% of the time. We got moved into a room early. My friend was suffering from flu/migraine from hell and one of the nurses thought she might need the quiet. Awesomeness. The nurse who came in to put in her IV - GOSH I wish I had gotten her name - she was bloody FANTASTIC! My friend has a bit of a phobia with IVs and this nurse was patient, hilarious, witty and comforting. She talked my friend through the procedure like a pro and was just the sweetest thing. On this particular day, I believe they were running a minimum 2 hour wait, with only 3 doctors in the ER so for this one nurse to take so much extra care - holy damn. Color me impressed. But the nurse who came to take OUT the IV? Totally gruff and insanely loud - like, still uncomfortable standing 10 feet away from her loud... which I find totally bizarre as she knew we were there because of a severe migraine. All in all, after a long day (which ended happily!) I understand a little better why people might be a little more blunt after facing hour after hour of ER craziness. And in that sort of atmosphere - when you do get face time with someone who is incredibly genuine and comforting (like our rockstar IV nurse), you have even MORE respect, knowing what they have to stomach to keep that smile going. Random Sidenotes: The french vanilla coffee in the waiting room is surprisingly tasty in a "not real coffee" sort of way. If you need change for parking, the vending machines accept bills. And have you ever noticed that the corridors of hospitals are eerily like elementary schools? I mean it, look next time your in - they even have the cork boards displaying "projects" & a "sign up board". It's creepy. read more

Socialized healthcare, free medicare, "communist", etc, etc..... Really, there is no perfect system when socialized healthcare is compared to the free market healthcare system of the US. There are pros and cons of each. To wit, almost every modern industrialized nation has the "communist" system. The USA, is the impasse. This is a review of the support staff, meaning nurses, clinical staff, administrative staff, orderlies and others that I have not mentioned. It's a tough and under-appreciated job. I say this because I was an observer from the ER into the Acute Care on multiple occasions. The support staff are the workhorses. They are the ones giving the dominant amount of care to the patients. Sure the Dr's come in and and do their thing, give a diagnosis, maybe a prescription and all, but it is the support staff that does the work. Pro tip if you're ever walking around in ER or Acute Care at VGH. Don't wear a jacket and button up shirt - everyone will think you're a physician starting your shift. So last night I kept a family member company in Acute Care. This place runs non-stop obviously. 24/7. Patients get wheeled in. Trauma patients, geriatric patients, to psychiatric patients. The whole shebang. As a side observer, patients can be demanding. Very demanding. A psychiatric patient was screaming at the top of her lungs, with expletives, from11 PM until at least 4 AM. The support staff has to put up with this as well as to try to talk sense to her and calm her down. In all honesty, I was thinking "ball gag" as a solution, not the most PC of thoughts. Geriatric patients will ring the "service bell" for every little whim that they need taken care of. The support staff deal with this as efficiently and as professionally as possible without losing their cool. I helped a nurse translate for an elderly Chinese man who couldn't speak English but needed to do a number 2. It's a tough job being a nurse. The porta- potty on wheels came in 5 min. My hat off to them. Under the circumstances they sometimes face, they do an awesome job. read more

His surgeon has tried to fight for surgeries but only to be told no. When he's had five doctors tell him he needs immediate surgery. VGH is a teaching hospital, affiliated with the University of British Columbia. VGH is a large maze of buildings and corridors which can be confusing for visitors. Maps and volunteers are sometimes available to help guide you to where you want to go. Staff are often willing to help direct you in the right direction. Care that you will receive can vary from unit to unit. I have not been a patient so I cannot speak much about this. This hospital has no tolerance for seniors who take up bed space and are inevitably going to die. My mother passed away here and after much pestering the surgeon admitted that my mother's space would be better to serve someone who will survive. This was 3 years ago. Last month my sister-in-law's 107 year old grandmother died in agonizing pain in the hospital because the nurses would not listen. This was a vibrant energetic elderly who had a fractured hip. That's why she was in the hospital. The nurses turned her onto the broken side to prevent bed sores. We asked every nurse in vain to turn her off the fractured side and no one listened. The doctor was even surprised that she was turned onto her fractured side when he came by later. She even tried to turn herself back but failed. She was on her broken side for over 12 hours when this was all discovered. She died from a heart attack from the extreme pain! She died in extreme pain! Bed sores would have been better than this! If we had the wherewithal we'd sue! This 107 year old was vibrant until she went into the hospital. She was living on her own and still gardening! The family felt the staff viewed her as a waste of resource and space. That's why asking them to fix her position was ignored. Had the doctor been there he would have demanded this. If you care about how your elderly loved one is treated squawk loud and clear so they don't die too soon. read more

I had a 2 day Persantine MIBI and was so impressed with the staff. All were compassionate, caring and professional. I can't say enough about them. They were awesome. They are also due all kinds of accolades for the past difficult year that we have all been a part of and they have been exemplary. Thanks from the bottom of my heart. My only complaint was that as a bariatric client the staff were unable to monitor my BP during the procedure as they did not have a BP cuff to fit me. Had I known I could have brought my own. However, since many morbidly obese clients are referred to VGH for some routine surgeries I find it confusing as to why simple equipment is not available to staff. So when i read these reviews i go back and check out how many people a year visit just emergency at VGH....well its over 100,000 visits....So get real people....they are incredible at VGH....i took my wife to VGH...triage had Vascular docs assess and immediately ordered a surgery that took place in 24 hours.....See thats how it works....if you have a headache or the flu.....you are not going to be in the quickest lane....the triage makes decisions based on risk....No a broken arm may hurt but not life threatening...My wifes stay for 7 days after arterial bypass leg surgery was a modern day miracle....The staff up dated me many times a day .....they are totally organized at professional from the top down....they set up the post surgery schedule and all the necessary prescriptions....This is a very very special place.....docs, physios, pharmacist, nurses....they all were 100% read more

Worst hospital treatment ever. I am sick with fever, cough and sore throat. No one took my temperature and they put me in the infectious disease room, which was very dirty. Previous patients water cups, pill cups and an empty throw up container on the ground. I was in there for several hours. I came for help because I couldn't sleep because of the cough. They sent me home with nothing. No cough suppressant. No personal care. I was treated like I was bothering them. You think I want to spend hour in a dirty room for hours? Horrible. read more

Last evening I was rushed to Vancouver General Hospital because I had an allergic reaction to some shellfish for which I didn't know I was allergic to. The nurses where efficient, very friendly, very caring and just kept me informed about what they were doing and why. At first I was hesitant that I was being brought to VGH as I know sometimes the wait is very long but not in this case. They attended to me quickly, asked me all the pertinent questions necessary to treat me in a quick caring manner. It was a very pleasant as pleasant as going into anaphylactic shock can be. I definitely won't be hesitant in the future to see them if this medical condition should arise again. read more

Never thought I'd be leaving a negative review for a hospital, especially in times of a pandemic. But I also never thought I'd encounter doctors that would tell you over the phone that they think you have an inflamed appendix, demand you come in immediately so they can give you a vaginal ultrasound for no reason, and then forget to even order the appendicitis test. Then they had the nerve to say "come back tomorrow for the test we were supposed to give you today." Invasive at worst and incompetent at best. read more

Waited in the ER area to have my dad examined by the doctor after having his tests done - after waiting for a total of over 7 hours we got fed up & left - without a doctor or nurse coming by to check on him or seeing what his test results were. What a waste of our time! We're sure that the staff are working as hard as they can but they (the doctors) certainly can do a much better job in keeping the patients informed as to what's going on. read more

Came in with stomach pains and was taken care of right away. Found out a couple hours later I needed an appendectomy. Surgery the next day went really well and the anesthesiologist did an amazing job; wasn't sick at all afterwards. All of the staff were polite and friendly. I thought 4h waiting in an emergency room is ridiculous and just red some people waiting up to 7h. It's just unbelievable. My husband is lung cancer patients whose going through chemo and radiation at the moment. Because of radiation he got to the point he had hard time to even swallow water and passed out today. His radiation doctor suggested me to take him to emergency.When I took him there and explained situation they already knew since his doctor let them know he was coming. He didn't eat or drink all day. After two hours I asked nurse is it possible he can get IV while he's waiting because he didn't drink all day. She told me he has to wait. While he was waiting they took blood from him. There hours later I went again making sure they didn't forget about him and his situation. Nurse told me he has to wait his turn. I understand every person who was there had emergency situation. But again couldn't understand how they don't understand how serious his situation was. While we were waiting my husband asked me to take him home two times because he couldn't take it anymore and felt he was going to faint. Needed to lye down. Finally three and a half hours into it they took him in. He was absolutely exhausted. Nurse was getting ready to take his blood again. Knowing they already took his blood two hours prior that I asked her about his results and reason for taking his blood again. She didn't know about it and with big smile on her face told us if somebody already took his blood it doesn't have to be done again. No sorry just walks out of the room. I just could not believe it. I know mistakes happen. While we were waiting I noticed they were taking blood from people while they are waiting in the waiting area at the beginning. Once they come in after hours of waiting at least blood results are ready. That was procedure. This nurse should have known about procedure since she works there. Not to mention to check my husbands chart before she entered room to take blood again. I know they work hard and they are overworked. But this is hospital people are sick and in some cases they can't afford this kind of careless mistakes. Very disappointed... read more

This review is 2 stars because I want to give it 5 stars, but at the same time I want to give it ZERO stars based on the nurses in the ER ward. Please read on- 5 stars: Norm a very kind older nurse in the ER was probably the only nurse I encountered who was kind and caring and treated me with consideration. This world needs more people like Norm! ZERO stars: The zero stars go to two of the other nurses who were assigned to my room. One was Katie and the other was Katie's relief nurse while she was on break. Unfortunately I was treated horribly by both nurses. After being brought to room A11 Katie's relief nurse comes in and says, "I'm going to take your blood pressure. C'MON! RAISE YOUR ARM, YOU'RE NOT DEAD!!!" I was not in a state to be able to talk back or raise my arm for that matter. Heck, I could barely open my eyes and keep my head up! Why does the hospital hire people like this? They are the antithesis of what a nurse should be! Katie wasn't any better to me. The sad part is, all the docs seem to know that some of the nurses are just horrible and I was told "We can't do anything about it. Their union is stronger than ours." read more

If you are native, or aboriginal, DO NOT GO TO VGH!!! My last two visits were horrible and very racists intake workers, and doctors; and some of the laziest nurses I have ever seen. Because, I was disoriented & confused; the intake worker decided to make an example of me, despite my boyfriend giving her my drivers license; she said, "No sir, she has to tell me her name & birthdate before I can admit her." Not bothering to take my info from my DL or my iPhone's Medical ID. To add to her spite, she put me the furthest away from the bathroom; cause I asked to go to the bathroom. I fell a few times going to the bathroom. Very humiliating, as I am suffering from advanced cancer, very bad stomach flu, radiation treatments, and brain cancer. I'm 43, and look normal for the most part. I pray to the Creator that she receive the exact treatment she gave me. In the meantime, I pray she gets treated the way people treat me for the rest of her life. Had she admitted me like anyone else; they would have found my brain cancer sooner. I got to VGH at 10:00 pm, admitted at 3:00 am, and left at 5:00 am. My other experience was the doctor thought I was a drunk, kept me for 23 hours, "while I sobered up". Had he not done that; I wouldn't have had to drive myself to another hospital, where they discovered I had a severe case of food poisoning. My nurse from England said "It's too bad, you are native; you would have seen a doctor hours ago; he's waiting for you to sober up." So, hearing that; I left and went to Mount St. Joseph hospital; they were so nice, and kind to me. read more

My review is mainly on the Patient Account Department of VGH. While my wife and I were waiting for our turn at the window, we witnessed the rudeness of this lady behind the glass counter towards the volunteer nurse/student. We felt bad for the volunteer because she was just asking for change. Such a simple thing. We know when a person is having a bad day and this lady is not having a bad day. She seems more like she hates her job...and mad at everyone on this side of the glass. No reason to pass her frustrations on other people. No one deserves that kind of rudeness. read more

The Emergency Department is totally hit or miss depending on what doctor you see. Unfortunately, after going 30+ years with out ever setting foot an ER, I earned my "frequent flyer" wings this year: 4 visits in 9 months. The registration process generally runs smoothly, you see a friendly nurse, get a wristband, proceed to wait in a waiting room. In my experience waits to see a doctor averaged anywhere from 2-4 hours, which is really not that bad. Where the care varies dramatically is after you get a room and have a doctor assess you. I've had some good doctors here that have been genuinely concerned and ordered tests accordingly. On the flip side, I've also had a 'seasoned' doctor completely brush off my symptoms and tell me I was "fine", basically indicating I was wasting his time. When I came back a few months later with the exact same symptoms a different doctor ordered a CT which quickly revealed the underlying cause and I ended up in surgery! If you end up here, I hope you receive excellent care, but be aware this is not always the case. read more

My recent experience is based on ER experience. My whole family had some good time at ice-rink skating. Unfortunately, my wife fell on the ice and it was so unlucky. From pain and quick arm check - it looked like she had an elbow fracture. So, we quickly left the rink, took 2 our kids and departed to Vancouver General Hospital. At arrival, nurse without any empathy told me - you'll have to wait 4 hours to see the doctor. I didn't see lots of people with broken arms or legs. I was really unpleasantly surprised with such quick assessment. So, we left and went to St. Paul hospital. For some reason, staff there gave us fast track and we've seen the doctor after 40 mins. Feel the difference. I'll never visit GVH and won't recommend it neither. read more

Don't leave your older relatives alone here EVER. The night nurses in the emergency ward who 'attended' to my mother were mean and nasty - as soon as I left for the evening. I thought they were slow & too fond of chatting among themselves at first but the way they talked to my mother after I left was unforgivable. I'm writing a letter of complaint- but if the admin is anything like the nurses I encountered I don't think much will be done. My mother specified that she NEVER, EVER wants to go back to VGH under any circumstance. In fact she said if she's dying leave her at home if the choice is VGH. Frightening. read more

Who ever likes hospitals? Not me, that's for sure lol! I have never had to use their emergency services but I have had experience with the staff in some of the pavilions and I can say that they are amazing. I usually have appointments in the Leslie and Gordon Diamond Care Centre and boy was I impressed. The building is a beauty and you will find a coffee shop (where the staff are friendly), a sushi bar (which I haven't tried yet), a Shoppers Drug Mart and a Shoppers Drug Mart Home store. When you go upstairs, each floor has floor to ceiling windows in the middle which look down onto the main floor and lets in a load of light. Another plus is that all the washrooms, or at least the ones on the floors I have been on, are clean and have sanitation stations! You will also find sanitation stations by all the elevators. read more

this is a garbage hospital. the worst hospital ive been to in Canada. staff are rude, dismissive, judgemental. they give me blood tests and the. bracelets etc but never saw doc. the waiting room for er had handful of people only and I was waiting so long I became hangry despite having eaten right before leaving my house. when a massive anxiety attack teamed up with hanger, I decided to walk out. i was a little surprised that despite having of my Information, nobody check if i am okay. other hospitals ive walked out of leads to cops at my door. within a few hours. to top it off, it was actu pretty dirty for a hospital. staff ga e me dirty looks and seemed to prioritize me dead last because of my appearamce and/ or lifestyle. it was entirely unpleasant experience. the next day my symptoms worsened and i phoned er to ask if they had to take my blood again (I have difficult veins sk this can be a very unpleasant experience) and they said yes they can't use my blood from yesterday due to some bad beaurocratic reason. so I went to diff hospital nearby and had mych better treatment and they did not need more blood because tgey just looked up the blood vgh took the day before ... so much unacceptable and ridiculous. read more

Spending 2 weeks in hospital, I only came across one nurse who seemed to hate her job. This hospital is clean and up to date. Staff is generally very friendly and polite. Navigating is fairly easy. I have been seen in several different departments so its hard to judge them all in one rating but overall, I've never really had any issues with this hospital. Emergency Dept - was fairly quick and painless, with an obvious few hour wait, which is typical. Orthopedic Trauma Unit - had wonderful staff, with the exception of the one nurse. Rooms are big, with gorgeous views. Food is alright. Not the best but what do you expect! Physical Therapy -Rehab Centre - Pattison Pavilion -Large area. Receptionists are very nice and polite. They seem to enjoy their jobs. Tony, my physio therapist, is very nice and encouraging. This service is MSP covered as well, which is a life saver! Radiology - Both Departments - X-ray and CT only - Love the staff that works in both areas. Always super friendly and even took my cell phone to take photos for me, a few times Diamond Centre Parking - I take away one star for their parking situation. Now I come here 3 times a week now for physio and so far, I've been stuck and couldn't get out. The ticket has eaten my ticket twice now, AFTER I had paid, so now i have to send them copies of my credit card statement showing I paid and the ticket machine to go inside always seems to take forever. There was a line up for about 11 cars today to get INSIDE the parking lot. The parking is VERY pricey at $3 per half an hour. All in all, wonderful hospital. Highly recommended read more

I started my adventure at VGH 6 weeks ago when I broke my wrist. I have nothing but good things to say about the experience. The staff are friendly and helpful. The waits in the trauma centre and specialists office can be little long, but the ER was very quick. Even though the staff are great, I hope I won't see the for a while. :) read more
