I visited the Andrew Jackson Heritage Estate (Plantation) and was VERY ANGRY that the very land that many African American slaves were sold, born, slaughtered and raped was still being preserved. Money is still being made here and the wealth is not being distributed. A huge percentage of each ticket bought should go to the restoration and presentation and preservation of Fisk University and the shared medical university. Read the history of Andrew Jackson. We visited Trevecca Nazarene University to attend the Tara-Leigh Cobble "Bible Recap Live" event…read morelast Saturday. I believe it was held in the Boone Convocation Center. The venue itself appeared to hold about 800 people or maybe 1000. There was a good-sized crowd in attendance! The lobby was small. The patrons were primarily women. There were several decent sized monitors hung throughout the venue; however, Tara-Leigh Cobble and the activities (trivia, other people talking, etc.) were not projected on the screens. Also, there was no stage, no elevated area for the star, Tara-Leigh Cobble, to stand on, and the seats were stadium-like in that they were slightly elevate. Anyway, getting a good line of sight to the stage was not easy. Because it was female-centered, the women's restroom quickly got messy, with water dripping all over the floor, paper towel dispensers crapped out, etc. It would have been nice to have folded paper towers in baskets beside each sink vice having to walk with dripping hands to the wall mounted dispensers that quit functioning early in the night. Were all the amenities I prefer available at this venue? No. It looked like the "convention center" (my words) was adjacent to a dining hall. There were no food, drinks, or adult beverages available at this event. No food trucks, nothing. This was understood prior to attending, as they advertised you could tailgate in the parking lot as maybe a dozen or so were doing, when we arrived. The campus was clean, parking was ample, and the few staff we engaged with were kind. Did I enjoy Tara-Leigh Cobble? Absolutely! Was her show well executed? It was! Would I attend again if it were held at Trevecca? Yes; however, I would prefer more creature comforts. There was a 15-minute intermission with absolutely nothing to do, except browse Tara-Leigh Cobble's merchandise, most of which is available online.

I attended a two day Photoshop course here. It was a virtual…read moreclass taught online by an instructor who in my case was in Atlanta. You communicate with live chat and are wearing a headset with a microphone to talk to them as well. My first day, I tried two different headsets and the mics did not work. Second day my headset mic did work first try, that was much easier. My biggest complaint is that the monitors you use (one for the instructor view, one to work on beside it) are too small for what you're doing. I realize my eye sight isn't great, but it's a Photoshop class. You are editing photographs with very detailed improvements, a small monitor doesn't cut it. I understand that many other cases wouldn't really need large monitors - but photo editing and graphic design, come on. For what you pay, you should expect top notch technology. The instructor was very good, and I did enjoy the training. The facility is modern and clean, but no break time areas in their suite, but the building itself had a lobby and adjacent deli. They get one point for baking warm cookies every afternoon, but then the point is half deducted because there's this sign with a cartoon cookie monster that says take one and leave the rest for everyone else. I get it, but just seemed a little off putting. But I guess I'd be more upset if some joker had come through and eaten all the cookies.

Our experiences at New Horizons in Nashville and their corporate office in West Conshohocken, PA…read morehas a tremendous opportunity to improve. The relationship starts out well. The person who signs you up at New Horizon, you are equivalent to a sale/commission for them. As is normal in business, things are well at the beginning. One stream of revenue that New Horizon receives is money from the respective states through different work programs i.e. people unemployed, people who are veterans etc. The reality and the weaknesses voiced for a minimum of two years that have gone unanswered. Let's take the PMP [project manager professional] course that New Horizon offers. In any service, you have quality metrics. There are different teachers who teach this course. New Horizons does not have an maintain metrics that all teachers teach the same coursework to students. Despite students sharing this, students remained ignored. The PMP book, 6th edition, is a reference book, it is not a study guide. New Horizons used to provide a Crosswinds Study Guide, which they discontinued in mid 2018. New Horizons did not replace the study guide. Students are studying for a very difficult test -- a study guide would be needed. To date, New Horizons Nashville will not address this concern that students have raised. We, students whose fees are paid by the State of Tennessee are ignored. This even includes being ignored by the owner of this independent New Horizons Nashville location, Shawn Gilbride. Mr. Gilbride sent an email stating to remove his name from the email dialogue bringing up students concerns. Shawn Gilbride does not respond to emails. Shawn Gilbride does not respond to voicemail -- ever from students. Shouldn't this be communicated up front? Should the State of Tennessee know this? The goal of New Horizons Nashville and New Horizons other locations is to support students with the current and applicable resources to pass the respective exams we're preparing for. The message is clear. New Horizons and New Horizons Nashville cares about their revenue -- load in the respective students to receive the money from the State of Tennessee and respective states. All of us have to be accountable to someone. All programs have metrics. This is severely broken with the New Horizons corporate structure. There are so many layers of executives and leaders, that no one is concerned. How do we as students know this? Because we contacted the corporate office -- it took us about six weeks of reaching out to the New Horizons team in West Conshohocken, PA. Most of the people there were more lost than we were. Finally after six weeks, we were connected to someone [we can get this name and number from our records] who was trying to get a message to New Horizons Nashville. Do you know that goal still was not to remedy the problem. What are the problems? 1. The teachers who teach for New Horizons are not consistent, with minimal metrics with what PMP students are taught. 2. New Horizons has saved money be removing the study guide, and not replacing it with a new study guide. The accompanying slender Agile book is not a study guide either. It's a supplement. Thank you New Horizons for the lack of support here in preparing students for an exam. 3. A primary partner of New Horizons is Pinnacle Professional Development LLC of New Baltimore, Michigan. New Horizons Nashville doesn't care that some of the teachers don't even mention the Pinnacle partnership and resource to some of the students. There's no login. There's no return call. There's nothing. So -- no study guide. And -- now no Pinnacle resources to study for the exam. Well -- what about those who did receive the Pinnacle login. The answers to many of the questions are not up to date. Point blank. Students over the past two years have provided this information with screens shots to Shawn Gilbride [the owner of New Horizons in Nashville, TN] and the corporate office of New Horizons in West Conshohocken, PA, and to Brian Salk, the owner of Pinnacle Professional Development. New Horizons and New Horizons Nashville is in the education, training and certification business of teaching people how to pass exams. It goes without saying that, they, New Horizons, uses metrics themselves. They do not -- if it does not relate to their own immediate revenue -- much of which comes from the State of Tennesseee and the other respective states throughout the United States. It's not the responsibility of students preparing for an exam, in this case, the PMP exam -- to inform New Horizons or Pinnacle Professional Development of what's outdated in their materials. We did! This is by far one of the worst educational experiences I have had ever, and it is not because of…read morethe instructors. First off, the campus is never open on weekends, and this is a time when I work on music the most since I am not at work. This is a music school and we have barely made any music, never have much chance to work in the "provided" studio spaces, since the campus is always closed. I am In a class full of people who know nearly nothing about music in general, but especially production, and this is hindering myself and the few others who are past the "Hand holding" stage. The bulk of my time has been spent listening to YouTube videos, which is how I taught myself to be a producer. I came here thinking they'd further enhance my skills but that has yet to happen, and it's been 4 months. I'd received a call from The financial aid department, saying I hadn't made payments in 4 months, which is true because all of my money is spent on studio time, and equipment that my school is suppose to provide, but due to their horrible business hours, I don't have time to access these things. All advisors have absolutely no idea what they're talking about. I gave my advisor the information page to see which classes would transfer to my university and she literally said "I'm not going to read all that". When I told her I wanted to check all information before registering for classes she said, "oh, well I already registered you" and they were the wrong classes. The google page will say they are open when they are NOT. I got a major change form from the student center and the advisor said "don't worry I'll take care of this for you". She didn't, and when I emailed her and her boss she claimed the paper form didn't exist, but I got it from the college themselves. This major change issue made me get rejected for financial aid, so I paid out of pocket. I had to drop a class because their webpages frequently don't work and I got a server error trying to pay. When I went to check on my legal name change after two weeks the student center employee said she thought the records department would come get it from her drawer, which means she just left my legal papers in her drawer and did nothing. I got conflicting information about how to be recognized by the college as an independent student to finish the FAFSA, which means I did unnecessary work and prolonged the process. I had a professor use biology class to push her political beliefs, required to do assignments about politics which had nothing to do with biology class. My A number mysteriously changed and the student center wouldnt help me until I showed evidence, because they said I just didn't know my A number. One time I was directed to the admissions department for help, and all staff, information online, and signs said they were open, I walked into a pitch black department with the doors unlocked. The FAFSA website says the Pell grant will be applied before you pay, it wasn't. So I had to pay out of pocket and then get a refund, which most Pell Grant students can't afford to do. I clicked the link for fee waivers and it takes you to the "How To Pay" page which doesn't have this form. RUN AWAY FROM THIS COLLEGE, STAY AWAY, YOU WILL HAVE ENDLESS REGRET.

They have signage up every where to lead you in the correct direction and they have QR code's to scan and self report so you can easily flow from office to office as needed once you show proper ID & screening. Yes, it is all time consuming but they make it so much easier and the wait not bad if at all.
