GO SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR REPAIRS! Brought my vehicle in equipped with the PAX system that had a flat. I explained to the service advisor that the tire was flat and would like to replace it and 1 other tire. Took 3 hours to determine the run flat was damaged and was not in stock and cost additional money. When I told them not to do the work, they mounted the other new tire anyway and told me I owed for the good one. I went and bought 4 new wheels and tires for the cost of 2 PAX wheels from this department. They then wanted me to pay for them mounting the 1 tire after being told not to do the work. I refused to pay them and brought my new wheels and tires and told them to keep the old ones. Will not be coming back nor will i recommend anyone to this service center. If I could give them no stars I would. Absolutely had the worst experience with them and will never go back (to buy a car or for service). First of all, I walked in having been looking at a car online that was listed for $8900. As soon as I stepped in the building they jacked the price up $4k. I raised hell on that as that is so extremely unethical (one of the few dealerships in the area that add the number of fees they do). I worked my way up the chain and talked to the head guy, and was sold the car for the price I "locked in" online when I was looking (the original 8900). The guy I was working with (Chris Gomez) was very rude as soon as I started pushing. One of the managers up front (tall lanky black guy- forgot his name. Sleezy dude) though was so terrible in the process. And I mean yelling and physically trying to take the keys out of my hands. It was insane. Thankful I bought a friend. This was about two weeks ago. Two days after I bought the car the check engine light came on. Took it to a different Honda and they said the mass airflow sensor was basically shot to shit. They are so te baffled that I was sold this car when that sensor was so bad. Of course, it's not covered in warranty and so I am out $700+ dollars on the brand new car with paper tags. Leased a new honda from here. After the lease expired, we decided to purchase the car. Went in to finance the payoff and was told the car needed to be inspected and certified by the service department. This "inspection" would be used to determine if there were any issue and the service would take care of any issues found. Before the car was taken in there was a known issue with the power steering fluid level. It was low and caused the pump to whine. After the "service" the pump noise was still there and the fluid level was still low. On the service inspection sheet the power steering fluid level check was "checked". This tells me that these "inspections" are just a scam. No more Vandegriff Honda's for me. read more

We had an issue with the service warranty, he went out of his way to help us get everything in order and situated with the dealership. He was fast, friendly and very helpful! The receptionist on the other hand was very unprofessional, when we asked for her assistance with speaking someone in accounting she had her headphones in her ears, ipad in front of her and acted like my husband was bugging her. I purchased a Certified-Used vehicle from this Dealership on 01/27/2012 and was under the impression it was a good car, with no issues. On May, 2017 I went to purchase a new vehicle and wanted to trade in my used vehicle, only to find out that it was involved in an accident and damage was reported reducing my trade in value. Why didn't the dealership disclose the accident information? Probably because they knew no buyer would purchase a vehicle from them that was involved in an accident. Wow!! Never will I ever purchase a vehicle from Vandergriff Honda, nor will I ever purchase a vehicle without reviewing the carfax report in detail. Overall, I am okay with the dealership. I went in knowing what I needed/wanted and walked away with a bit of a different pricing than I originally was shooting for. I will say the staff was nice- our salesman as Shifat (short for something I can never get right). He was really nice and tried to help us. It was also a longer process than I thought it would be, but they were really busy, so I just chalked it up to that. I cannot really say if I am 100% happy just yet until I see my paperwork. I am still waiting on my finance paperwork- I thought I was going to get a call to come pick it up, but later learned it was being mailed. I spoke to two salesmen about the final quote on the vehicle and told them I'm making the trip to purchase the vehicle and don't want to negotiate for hours once I arrive. We agreed to a quote and when I went down they made me wait for 5 hours, ran credit check and gave me a price way higher than promised. I was also threatened by the store manger that if I give a bad review he will personally call all the Honda dealers and ask them not to sell me any vehicle. This is unethical, immoral and unprofessional behavior. I have read similar comments of other customer being threatened the same way by the store manager. When I asked to speak to his manager he again threatened me saying he is the highest authority and has lots of connections to make sure I don't get a vehicle at any other dealership. Request whoever is actually in charge to look into this matter and take necessary action. read more

Very shady and I won't go back. Let me just say pay close attention. Sales person will tell you the car has features you are asking about but then after you sign for it "oh this doesn't have that". Ask and make them prove it works first! Watch your paperwork. They included extended warranty for $2400 that I never asked for and don't want. My payment could have been lower without them sneaking this in. I found out about it in Finance and could have asked them to change but at this point it was 9:15pm and I just wanted to leave......I had been there since 1:30.....so yeah, take some patience and a snack as you won't be a priority. Absolute worst and I am so sad that it has ruined enjoying a my car....mainly because I feel like I got ripped off and it doesn't have features I wanted. I purchased a new Honda in 2017 from Vanderiff Honda. The paint is oxidizing. What's the problem with Honda and paint? I called Vandergriff on Saturday, April 27, 2019. Requesting to speak to a service advisor. The representative started that a service advisor was unavailable. My car came with a plan that is provided by Zak. It's a paint protector. Vandergriff Honda started that they would schedule me an appointment in July. I called was on April 27. They referred me to Freeman Honda. I set up an appointment with Freeman Honda. Upon arriving at Freeman Honda and speaking with the service manager. I was advised they they were unable to assist me because the service that I was requesting was only provided at Vanderiff Honda. The service manager referred me back to Vanderiff Honda. At Vanderiff Honda service manager Mike Book was not concerned he was rather condensending. My issue is not resolved. Think twice before purchasing a vehicle from Vanderiff Honda. I contacted Honda North America and my issue remains unresolved. My car has less than 26,000 miles. This is my second Honda. Both cars had unsatisfactory paint. Their is more then a year difference in the car purchase dates. If you have additional questions just read reviews on Honda paint. I went on the web to search for Honda Dealers and received a phone call from several with Vandergriff being the 2nd call. I advised I had received an online offer from John Eagle Honda and had been contacted by them, however I lived in Arlington, TX and would prefer to do business at home if they were able to be in the same ballpark in cost as John Eagle. I advised the type of car was interested in and all the details so there would not be a lot of talk upon my arrival. When I got there first off the guy (Minh Nguyen) I had an appointment with was not there he had a doctor's appointment that ran over, I was told (I completely understand, however I believe this should have been something where a backup was prepared in the event he was unavailable, and this did not happen, so my time was wasted in explaining details already provided). The car I desired was sold the night before I was told and I did not receive a phone call prior to my visit and sells paperwork was still prepared and offered a car to test drive of something I had already explained I did not have any desire for, they advised they would get the car I desired for me and said they call John Eagle Honda to get the car and John Eagle advised they had sold the car I was interested in as well. A drive out sheet for a car they did not have for $10,000 over what I had agreed upon prior to coming as well as when I objected they immediately dropped $5,000 off of the price. Also, this was a lie regarding the car not being at John Eagle because I went to John Eagle and was able to purchase the car I desired at the price they had kept their word and provided to me at the price discussed. I was misinformed and lied to from the onset of dealing with Vandergriff Honda Dealership. I would not recommend or purchase a vehicle from them instead I would refer people to stay away from the character of such dealings and make the drive to John Eagle Honda people of good character. Didn't disclose used car was from a smoker. When we purchased the car it had a heavy chemical smell but was told it was from detailing. After we had the car a few days the chemical smell was replaced by the horrible stench of stale tobacco. We have aired the car out, sprayed Lysol, detailed again and the smell is still there. We asked Vandergriff if we could sell it back for what we paid and purchase another car. We were told they would buy it back but for less than we paid because it depreciated the minute we drove it off the lot. REALLY!! It is a used car that we have had less than a week. read more

Now that the purchase is finalized, she can't get anyone to call her back. When she calls she is sent to a full mailbox. How can you run a business if everyone's voicemail is full? Unfortunately, this time I was totally disappointed. Nothing in this world worth more than our time, time is never compensable. I found a vehicle on their online inventory, I left them a inquiry request. They got in contact with me and I spoke to their sale manager ( Ash Khalid) then he patched me to some other sales person ( Michael Robins), we made a stipulations over the phone and through the text messages to buy the vehicle for 12k. I was well aware of their little game that they go back to their finance desk and come back with ridiculous prices, to prevent that and save myself time, I stipulated that the car to be sold 12k out the door. They said we agree to the price and come on over. I drove for 45 minutes to get there and they printed out a paper stating that I need to pay 18k. And he said actually we looked at the numbers again and we are loosing money. I have all the text message but how shameless not to call me and say sorry, we made a mistake so don't drive all the way to the dealership. I also saw another lady with her daughter there crying and complaining that they bought a vehicle and the vehicle broke after a few days. People please respect your time and hard earning money. This place is a total ripoff. They only care about their money and not the customer. I purchased a used Honda Civic that was certified pre-owned just like all Hondas are. When I went to the dealership and decided to purchase the vehicle the sales man that I dealt with informed me that there was an extra charge of $1,000.00 for the certification of the vehicle to make it a certified pre-owned. Since I had to have a car I took him at his word. His name was Main by the way. Now they are calling me asking me to re-finance my car to get my payments lowered or upgrade to a newer vehicle. After speaking with the guys at Huggins Honda in Fort Worth, they explained to me a few things. 1. Honda does not require a fee to certify their vehicles as pre-owned since Honda certifies all of their pre-owned vehicles. 2. They just want you to re-finance so they can add a new TT&L fee onto it and get even more money from you. The same reason applies to them wanting you to upgrade to a newer, more expensive vehicle. They want more money. Especially now that I've payed on my vehicle for a year. Why should I add another year and higher payments on to my current loan just to have a new vehicle when mine is only two years old. 3. If you want to buy a Honda or another vehicle go to Huggins Honda in North Fort Worth. They are a local family owned business and they are honest and do not try to rip you off. read more

I spent about 3 hours on 8/18/18 at this dealership. After spending 3 hours waiting, looking at the car, test driving, trying to get warranty information, having to talk with a sales rep with minimal knowledge and with several back and forths to the manager, we finally agreed on the car and price. Lo and behold, the sales associate (Chris) comes back and says he wasn't aware but his manager told him the particular car which was on the lot and I test drove was off the list, and I could have another car. At that point, I told him we can't do business. Total liars and cheats at this dealership!It was a total waste of my time. This dealership embodies all the traits of a bad dealership; people lie to your face, don't care about your time, go back and what they say, have no such thing as a conscience. He was respectful, quick and had a sense of humor with my partner's gripes about some of the 'have to pays' wrapped up in the cars' pricing. Every hideous and shameless tactic you have ever heard of being used by car salesmen was on display at Vandergriff. I walked in at 6 pm on a Friday evening with a fixed budget an open mind. I was EXTREMELY clear about what was most important to me when the sales person - Joe - greeted me and asked me of my expectations. I told him I was open to either a pre-owned or a new vehicle. He said that with my budget he could get me a new car - namely the Honda Civic LX. Honda was having a "summer clearance event" today so he said he could get me a great deal on their new cars and I did not even have to worry about pre-owned with a budget like that. I am a 23 year old girl. That being said, I'm trusting, but not stupid when it comes to car buying. Trusting, nevertheless. Joe at that point handed me over to another sales person whose name I cannot remember, but he demo-ed the car for me, and explained the features. He explained their GPS tracking system and I VERY EXPRESSLY asked what the premium was on that service. He told me there was none and it was all inclusive. An hour and a half and a test drive later, this sales guy took me back to the dealership to talk numbers. At this point, they presented the MSRP of the car ($19595) PLUS "Options" that added another $5600 to the MSRP. In addition to that, the "Options" cannot be taken off. Meaning, they're not really options (The GPS system was one of these options that I was told was included in the price). Basically, Vandergriff ordered their vehicles from Honda with a certain number of features and the customer pays the price for these "options". When I walked in, I told them I was looking for A car, new or pre-owned, with a FINAL budget (including TT&L) of $18000. I was going to put $3000 down on the car. The car that I was shown and told could be fit into my budget came out to be a whopping $27,000 and loose change. This was during their "Summer CLEARANCE event". After talking to their "finance" guy, who basically tried to move around numbers to get me within a "monthly" budget and FAR away from my FINAL budget, they saw that I wasn't stupid when it came to my numbers. I want to share my experience with the yelp community so that no one ever has to waste their valuable time with these lying scumbags. Find a dealership that is worth your time and money. The Vandergriff "brand" has always boasted of integrity and honesty, and frankly, not only does this business fail to uphold its core values, but it is also a shining beacon of everything a car buying experience should NOT be. My boyfriend was in the market for a new vehicle too with a much bigger budget than mine, but needless to say after witnessing this, they lost his business too. We bought a Honda a few years ago at this location and it was the worst car buying experience. At that time, we didn't realized it but they've used every tactics of sales to get us into a car. We were there for over 8 hours going back and forth on the price while the salesman kept running around talking to his superiors. The worst of all was their finance manager Yuni Chon. After the long battle with the sales price, Yuni tried to sale us more useless packages in which we bought because we felt for their tactics. We tried to reverse the sale of the extra packages in less than 24 hours and they would not offer a refund. These people work on commission and would say anything to make a sale. My husband and I visited the the Vandergriff Honda dealership this morning after making an appointment several days ago to meet with a sales associate. I am currently in a lease and I am near the end of it. I received a letter from the "general manger" stating that due to my wonderful credit and payment history, I am eligible for a new lease early on a newer model of my car. I spoke with Ruben, a sales "manager" on the phone Friday prior to making the appointment. I wanted to know if this offer was legitimate and accurate and also if it was worth the 70 mile (one way) drive. I informed him of the only small issue with my car, being mileage overage, and advised me that there is no penalty for the overage if I sign a new lease. He also stated that the quote on the letter was very accurate and that is what my new monthly payment would be. We drove from the Gainesville area to Arlington to meet with Devon, a car salesman. Once we arrive and give him our information and budget, he proceeds to pass us on to another salesman, stating that he had other customers to attend to, as if we were less important to him. From then, Sergio, another car salesman, proceeds to assist us. He was absolutely clueless as to what we were there for and I had to reiterate what we wanted due to the lack of knowledge. He leaves the desk for awhile and returns with a payment quote after getting my car appraised. That quote was nearly triple what I was told it would be by Ruben the manager. My current payment on my lease is under $200 a month. My new budget was $250, and he told me it would cost $450 due to my mileage overage. Excuse me? What happened to the statement the manager made about the miles not penalizing me when I sign again? We both questioned this amount and he insisted that it was correct and fair. We proceeded to walk out of the office, staying we will take our business elsewhere because there is no way that is possible and we are not going to be lied to. We asked for our car to be pulled back around so we can leave. We waited outside in the rain for 5 minutes before Brian Walker, another sales "manager" meets us outside and tried to justify their wrongdoing and talked down to us as if we were unintelligent. We told him to please not try to help us any further and that we were leaving,yet he persisted on continuing on about it. We had to actually tell him to go back inside before he would leave us alone. Another salesman (no name) came outside while we were waiting for the car asking if we needed help and we told him what had happened, maybe as if he would care, he he really did not try to help or apologize for anything at all. No one here cares about their customers!! We absolutely will not do business here and will tell everyone to not go here either. I honestly do not know how this place is still in business or can even be classified as a business. I called the other Honda dealership in Fort Worth that I will continue to keep my money at and immediately had someone helping me and was eager to take my business. I explained what had happened at Vandergriff and the saleswoman knew which dealership I was talking about before I told her the name. Please shut this place down before you embarrass yourself anymore. If I could give you zero stars on the review then I would. I will also report a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and also blast this on Yelp and any other review site I can find. This place is absolutely a disgrace and a major SCAM. From reading prior reviews, it seems that I am not the only unhappy person out there and that this is a regular occurrence.
