Mattias was integral in making our evening exceptional. From initial email through payment,…read moreMattias was communicative and thoughtful. We had six people for a small birthday get together and everything from the food, decor, timing of courses, etc was spot on. He accommodated our requests including making special items for my youngest daughter. He brings everything - decor, place setting, glassware. We needed nothing as he covered it all. I couldn't recommend him more highly.

10/10, amazing, fantastic!…read more We had gotten an Airbnb at a secluded beach house and booked Mattias to cook our parent's 30th anniversary dinner. Communication went smoothly from start to finish. When he arrived, he took safety precautions and kept his distance and mask on (something that I really appreciated). He brought the dinnerware, table decor, and even printed out a nice menu at our request. Food was amazing and I loved that we were able to mix and match from his Farm Table menus. We had the butter lettuce salad (could eat this everyday!), the sweet corn soup (amazing flavors- sweetness of the corn was complemented with a kick of chili oil), the petit filet, and raspberry torte (with a sparkler to make it celebratory!). Every thing was amazing and perfectly portioned. At the end of dinner, he cleaned up which is such an added plus! Mattias is very personable and made the occasion so special. Will definitely look forward to working with him again :)

The first conversation I had with Stacey in my state of mind was not easy, but she was patient and so understanding. She assured us everything would be taken care of and she was true to her word. The food was delicious, they set up and cleaned up allowing the family and be together to support one another. If anyone has an event - needing meals prepared, I would highly recommend having Fire to fork catering to handle that paty of your event. Fine Food.....Wrong Venue?…read more This is the first "less than 5 star" review for Fire To Fork. My comments are not quite the same as all the others because those focused on the catering side of the business. My review discusses Fire To Fork as 1 of 3 food providers for a concert at the Presqu'ile Winery on Saturday, August 8th. My wife and I are vegetarians and menus from the 2 food trucks at the winery's event sponsored by the Oasis Senior Center in Orcutt were 100% meat. Fire To Fork was listed as the 3rd provider so I called earlier that day to ask whether the promised "charcuterie board" would be appropriate for vegetarians. I left a message...kind of incomplete since the tape was only 30 seconds...but a very nice woman called back and said "we'll have a huge box with 10 types of cheese plus nuts, fruit and some meat for people who want it". She was super friendly. We got to the concert early and I was one of the first people at the Fire To Fork booth. My wife and I planned to share a "box" so I simply said "everything but the meat". The paper box was the type used for a couple of hot dogs. The guy in charge gave me 3 strawberries, 8 red grapes, 2 balls of caprese cheese with 2 cherry tomatoes, small chunks of another cheese, a few figs and one other dried fruit. A younger guy put 10 crackers in a smaller box. Since the cost was $35.....yes, $35.....I asked for some more cheese - especially since I didn't get any meat. He reluctantly added one ball of caprese. The contents of my "box" were fine, but worth $12...maybe $15. Since some of the money was probably going to the local non-profit, I could see a charge of $20. But $35 was an insult. Everything at the 2 food trucks was $10-15. The food itself was fine, but the portion meager. For similar events in the future where attendees pay for the food rather than one person or organization footing the bill, either lower the price or raise the amount of food provided.

Review of All Purpose Flower/Working with Golzar…read more I rarely write negative reviews, but after our wedding weekend I feel a responsibility to share our experience so other couples can make an informed decision. The issues started weeks before our event. Communication was consistently poor -- we had to repeat ourselves multiple times on things we'd already confirmed, and received unsolicited invoices with zero context or explanation. I was the one who had to initiate conversations about our menu to find out whether it had even been finalized. That's not how a vendor relationship should work leading up to one of the most important weekends of your life. Welcome Party (Night 1): We had made it very clear that our welcome party was a casual gathering. All we needed was a bartender to pour wine at the bar for the hour before the event. Instead, she proposed table service staff -- something we explicitly said we didn't want. After a phone call where she agreed to send a bartender instead, no bartender ever showed up. Wedding Day (Night 2): We had specifically requested a menu change from chicken thigh to chicken breast. That change was never made. The wait staff poured wine for only some tables and then disappeared. In a family-style dinner format, not enough food was dropped at multiple tables -- which is a fundamental failure for that style of service. The alcohol situation was particularly disruptive. They massively underestimated how much was needed for 104 guests, and my father-in-law had to leave our wedding reception to go purchase more. On top of that, two bartenders for 104 guests was completely inadequate -- at points, guests were waiting 15 minutes for a drink. After the event, we heard from our venue that the catering team left the kitchen in an absolute mess and failed to clean up after themselves. Across the board -- communication, execution, staffing, and professionalism -- this was not the experience we were promised or that we paid for. I hope this review helps someone else avoid the stress we dealt with on a weekend that should have been nothing but joyful.

And she knows how to cook for all types of palates, ages and appetites. My clients have an especially particular set of dietary needs and allergies that must be worked around. We have had a hard time finding a chef that knows how to adjust to those needs while keeping the food selections, fresh, delicious, and diverse, but with Josie, it's just been so easy since Day 1. They also have 2 toddlers and she always suggests healthy and fun selections for them and they LOVE it! She's also a great cooking tutor and is always happy to help and answer any and all questions. And get this...we are in Los Angeles and Josie is in Santa Barbara...but THAT is how valuable she is to us! We get her food brought down to LA from Santa Barbara. Yes. Believe it when I say Chef Josie is one of the best! When it comes to working parties and events that my clients host, once again, she makes it all so easy and her attention to detail is absolutely precise! For example...We hosted a pizza party because the house had a new wood-fired brick pizza oven installed. I discussed this with Josie, and at the time, she had never worked with wood-fired pizza ovens. However, the very next day she sent me all the information she had researched on it, and also took the initiative to find someone to show her how to work with a wood-fired pizza oven. Because of her research and initiative, she was able to show me via texting and Facetime, how to properly cure the oven a week before the party and then when it came to the actual day of the party, Josie & her assistant came down to cook and put the oven and her newfound wood-fired pizza skills to the test...and everyone LOVED it!!! The pizza was honestly some of the most delicious pizza I've had. And it's all because of the prep work Josie had done before and then when the time came, like a master at their craft, she just let her experience do the rest. And clean-up was a BREEZE!!!!! She and her awesome assistant were constantly cleaning as they were working, so by the time they had to leave, everything was already cleaned up and put away. I am SO GRATEFUL for Josie. She makes my clients very happy and that makes me extremely happy and also, my job that much easier! She is truly one of the best people you will ever work with.

We decided to have her cater small bites the day of graduation so family and friends coming in to town had something to eat before, between graduations and after and went with a catered brunch and a full mimosa bar the morning after the graduations. She sets everything up, provided everything and became my "life coach" too...lol. I was able to enjoy sharing the day and all the moments that go along with celebrating your kids big moments without having to have to slay in the kitchen. Her food is to die for, full of flavor and unique and everything was made by her. Brunch was a cool experience because as she cooked & baked, she visited with family and friends and her interactions made it feel like it was my sister from another Mr. helping make this grad party a complete success. Thanks Katie for nailing it, providing a beautiful display of food, hanging out with everyone and most of all creating an amazing party so I could enjoy it all without the stress of cooking or figuring out a menu alone. I'm so bummed out that I didn't get pics to share of the brunch:( Looking forward to having you a part of more family milestones.
