10/10, amazing, fantastic! We had gotten an Airbnb at a secluded beach house and booked Mattias to cook our parent's 30th anniversary dinner. Communication went smoothly from start to finish. When he arrived, he took safety precautions and kept his distance and mask on (something that I really appreciated). He brought the dinnerware, table decor, and even printed out a nice menu at our request. Food was amazing and I loved that we were able to mix and match from his Farm Table menus. We had the butter lettuce salad (could eat this everyday!), the sweet corn soup (amazing flavors- sweetness of the corn was complemented with a kick of chili oil), the petit filet, and raspberry torte (with a sparkler to make it celebratory!). Where do I begin?! Mattias was super responsive from the start - very easy to work with to organize the event and plan the menu. We had a lot of food issues in our party - allergies and food dislikes and he was able to adjust no problem. Everything he made was absolutely delicious. He arrived on time and started preparing the meal while we were still out and about. The setting on the table had succulents on it, which was such a nice touch. All the food was superb. Carrot Salad with farro, squash soup, prosciutto wrapped halibut, chocolate pot de creme. We are still talking about that meal and it's 3 days after. He was also fantastic with my three year old son. My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary with 10 friends in Santa Barbara, and Mattias prepared a 4-course dinner for the occasion. Friends asked how we knew Mattias, and other than his informative web page and online reviews, we took a chance without having met in person or tasted his food first, and we were not disappointed. Mattias was prompt to respond to our questions and remained communicative up through the event. He is very personable and made the entire process from booking through the end of the event very easy and stress-free. Everyone raved about the seared scallops with miso truffle butter and the serrano ham wrapped filet mignon. The tablescape he created in our outdoor dining space was beautiful. He described each course tableside and made sure the water carafes were always filled. He cleaned up everything at the end of the evening, even our kitchen was spotless. Last fall Mattias prepared dinner for a family gathering with 9 adults and 3 kids and he exceeded our expectations not just in the food department, but with the way he set up and decorated the table AND found his way around the kitchen. The dinner itself was delicious, thoughtfully prepared, and well timed. Each course came as we finished up the last and there was no shortage (the pizza was incredible and never ending, much to our delight!). We provided our own dessert and he even plated it as if it were his own. He's friendly, polite and organized (and leaves the kitchen spotless). I found Mattias on a site for Santa Ynez Vacation Rentals as I was looking for a rental house in that area to celebrate a big birthday with close friends. I wanted a chef to prepare the dinner on September 15. Was able book Mattias and having no other info except for his Yelp reviews, I wasn't quite sure how it all would turn out. WOW! We all agreed it was one of the best experiences ever. From start to finish, Mattias created a one of a kind extravaganza. He is professional, organized, efficient and an excellent chef. I hadn't tasted his food yet but just got a good vibe! And he exceeded our expectations! We had a group of 12 people celebrating my elopement in Santa Barbara and each course was better than the last. He was easy to work with, quick to reply to emails, professional, friendly, and paced the dinner perfectly - not too slow, not too rushed. He explained each course and left the kitchen totally spotless after. He brought a lovely tablescape, all of the tableware, and kept the water filled all night.
