1/2020 TY my friends for being patient... you know I always attempt to share my newer experiences…read moreso you guys & gals can give it a try. So all in all, Hairmates gets only 3 stars: good place & some good stylists. Somewhat small & with tables cramped really. Parking is limited up close. I do hope owners also note my thoughts. 1) every single wash sink should have neck cover for comfort - they don't cost much. You clients may have to ask for 1! 2) why not put more comfy chairs at front for us waiting (hint: take out some of the unneeded shelving as you don't have that many products really esp the middle table is huge & seems not needed. Make us some more room maybe with small coffee table in center for our drink cups. I'd use blinds that let minumum light thru or light comes out top & bottom only of window and put 2 comfy chairs one side with tiny table between; then do similar on opposite side with maybe loveseat instead with small chair after corner & tiny round or rectangle table between again, getting rid of 1 product rack or move it to another area in back for ppl to peruse. Make us feel welcome - we are your bread & butter :)) 3) it is VERY warm in this salon. I am not a cold chick & I already wear shorter thin dresses etc so I should not be overheated at any salon. We need air as are experiencing hot dryers to sit under, hot blow dryers, hot straighteners, & warm capes! Have even seen hairstylist fanning themselves and another client so there's at least few of us. Spend a little $, turn on fans every start of day and turn on air. I glanced @ therm once when waiting at front - I'm certain it said 77 or was it 78. Too warm with bodies in small space. TX is NOT that cold. Those who are too cool can dress up or down; those who are hot CANNOT. That's the rule I do my business & life by! 4) ok here is where nobody thinks to look - but I do try and I did as I used the RR.... the back. If I see mess in the back room which was disaster then I know what my stylists are having to work with. Ugh, it should be spotless. Owners: insist each person clean up after themselves! They are not children; they are supposed to be pros. Even my stylist looked for product once never finding what needed tho I can't recall what it was now. Put in a camera if need motion sensored - watch to see if kids are behaving 5) last but not least: there is a "spirits type" store right next door. I was quite early once so I sat in my car working. I saw man go from salon to said store, then to his car to do something, then back in with a large single cup only. I thought oh customer likes to drink bit waiting on wife ;) But once in I realized... this was an actual stylist who awaited client I saw come to his chair! Hmmm. I cannot recommend anyone get hair done by someone "possibly consuming" and it is not professional to even enter there during hours. I thot perhaps wine spirits for clients but I remembered the solitary large cup in hand. Owners: that is something that looks bad. In closing. Prices seem avergage so thats a plus! I do like the desk calls clients for appt reminder usually. My cuts are good, colors are ok would say nothing fab. Depending on who you try, it can take 1-2 weeks on average unless you don't mind any stylist. I'm waiting to move on to bigger things as I search the areas for a favorite place but I hope this helps everyone who might consider this local business.

Diana Lujan has been doing my hair since last summer. I scheduled a root touch up appointment, per…read moreusual. When she went to wash out the bleach, my hair fell out in the sink in clumps. She was afraid to tone it, leaving me w bright yellow roots. I was in complete shock. I felt like I was in a horror movie. She apologized + stated it has never happened before + that she didn't know what went wrong. The other stylist told me, "it's not that bad + it could be worse." Like taking my hair from past my bra to my scalp was no big deallll. I wanted to scream. She over lapped or over processed my hair frying the center crown of my head, the part a Jewish person would wear a hat on, completely off. Leaving me w about an inch of hair. I texted her after my first wash + told her more hair had fallen out + the extensions she offered to buy me l, would do nothing because I have no hair to blend it with. We made an appointment for her to try to atempt to style it + dye it darker so my roots wouldn't look insane. She then later canceled my apt stating "I'm uncomfortable performing anymore services on you and having any further damage placed on my hands. Thank you and have a good night." Like excuse me? NO. You fried my hair off + now you aren't even willing to attempt to fix it? I was completely dumbfounded at how poorly the stylist, as well as the salon handled this. I should be given free cuts + treatments till my hair has grown back. I shouldn't of had to pay another stylist $55 for a hair cut that I should have never needed. I shouldn't haven't had to cover every mirror in my house because it literally made me sick to my stomach at the sight of myself. I've gotten in trouble at work for being late multiple times just trying to get the baby hairs to lay down + not cry in the process of doing so. These past few weeks have been v hard for me emotionally because of this stylist. Every hair compliment, makes me wana cry. I still don't know what to say when I receive them or how to respond when someone it like, you cut your hair?! Knowing how much I loved it + tha fact I would never cut it. Oddly I don't even feel like a woman wo long hair. I don't feel like the goddess I know I am + it's horrible someone can do this without any repercussions. The owner of the salon still hasn't reached out to me + it's been two weeks. What upsets me more than anything though is the fact that Diana has no clue wtf she did wrong so therefore this could happen to you or anyone she works on.
