7 months ago I started laser hair removal at vanity laser. I have PCOS so I grow hair on my upper lip and chin. I've struggled with this issue for 6 years and I just couldn't take all the shaving, plucking, and waxing anymore. I felt nothing was working and if it did work it only lasted a day. It became very difficult to deal with. So many people have told me that I should try laser hair removal but I just didnt believe that it would actually work. 7 months ago today I just couldn't take it anymore so I started calling all these laser hair removal places I found in Queens. So happy I found this place after moving to NY. It was the first place I tried out of all the other laser places in the area and it is amazing! I've been doing laser for years and it really only reduced the hair growth for a couple weeks, but it always grew back. I told the nurses here about my concerns and they tailored the settings for the laser to fit my exact needs and that is what separates this place from brand name/franchise laser places. The setting/intensity of the laser is the most important part of the treatment and it will effect how long the treatment lasts and it is different for everyone depending on the type/color/thickness/amount of hair. Im a guy and play sports so I am constantly shaving my upper body and it was getting annoying after a while, my girlfriend told me to start doing laser. I came to this place because my mom and sister have been here and I didn't know much about where I could go. I have heard of many laser places but honestly Im a guy and dont want to be caught in one of these places. I think it's just weird to be in a waiting room full of girls. My mom told me it was a pretty discreet and private medical office and the chances running into anyone I knew weren't much. Vanessa is the manager and the one that had taken careof my sister so I asked in advance for her. She was pretty cool explained everything clear and didn't make me feel akward. I have to admit, my first treatment was painful on my chest but the rest of the areas I was able to handle and still have a conversation with her. I haveI have been here 4 times and so far it seems to be working good. Im not looking to have no hair at all just not as much as I had before. Im going to wait a while before going back because I dont have anything growing back. I paid for a packaged deal for six sessions. So far I've completed two sessions and I am very pleased with the results. The technician explained what to expect ahead of time in my consultation prior to the first session. I was afraid that I'd have a bad reaction to the treatment and she offered to to a test area. You hear so many things it's only normal to feel a bit nervous but all my anxiety went away right at their waiting room the staff is very professional and friendly my consultation went very smooth plus it's a very clean facility that's a plus to me. Fibi answered all my questions and concerns she's the sweetest I swear she even went beyond my service expectations. I felt so confident that decided to start my laser sessions right at that very moment, my first treatment was a success my skin was perfect the next day no side effects whatsoever I think is due to the quality of their equipment. Zero stars....Beware of this place. I believe I was intentionally mislead so that they could drum up business. I purchased a Lifebooker deal that stated a year's worth of laser in six small areas. I live over an hour away from the location so I called and the receptionist to confirm the deal prior to purchasing. She was pleasant and said they honored the Lifebooker deal but when I asked about specifics, she said I would have to speak to the technician who was not available to speak on the phone. She asked if I would like to schedule an appointment. In retrospect, this should have been a red flag. When I arrived at the scheduled appointment, three ladies were sitting at the front desk. Their demeanor was a bit intimidating- especially being nervous about my fist laser experience. I filled out a bunch of paperwork and the woman seated in the middle (who ended up being my technician) took my voucher. She lead me into to treatment room and asked me what treatment area I wanted done. She then said that Lifebooker misprinted the deal and that it was not a year's but only 6 sessions in one treatment area. HUGE misprint! There were several opportunities to disclose the Lifebooker deal was erroneous- but their strategy was to get me in the treatment room where I was more vulnerable. I felt stuck given I spent so much time getting to the location and the fact that I was already mentally prepared for the treatment- so I relented. But after sitting on the treatment chair for less than five minutes, I left feeling cheated. I calculated that I ended up paying full price. The next day I felt even worse and explained the situation to Lifebooker. Thankfully, they gave me full credit! Needless to say- I will not be returning to Vanity Laser given their dishonest business practices. read more

When I decided to get get laser hair removal, I visited 5 different places all around New York and was close to give up, because none of them offerd me what i needed and could afford. If it was not too expensive and the only option was a very expensive package, they were dirty, the machines very old, and non professional. Thank God, i met a friend who told me and recomended me Vanity laser. I went there, a year and a half ago, and I just can talk wonders about them, specially Vannesa, who is a proffesional, and a wonderful and sweet person.
