Now I am neither a cheerful mischievous sprite or a petite vivacious woman, but I found a lot to like about the Pixie Nail Spa. Foremost, I like the ability to book online. I like the hours of operation (9am-7pm most days, closed Sunday). I liked that street parking is available (plentiful in the evening when I was there, probably busy on weekends). The spa is bright and spacious, with a lot of manicure tables and pedicure stations. More to like: friendly staff, offers of beverages, quiet (on a week night). Sarah did a great job on my manicure, which still looked pretty fresh from almost 2 weeks ago (thanks Canyon Ranch!). I chose a neutral color and added Dazzle Dry (another thanks to CR). I much prefer this to a no-chip because there are NO drills involved, it dries quickly and it's vegan/gluten-free (not gonna eat it). I think I'll look for dazzle dry in all future manicures. I would like a greater variety of colors in the DD choices, and my manicure was pretty basic. TLDR? 4.5/5 stars

The staff are super friendly and nice, their equipment is updated and clean, and their colors are new and trendy. I came here after searching for the best acrylic nails, and this salon does not disappoint. When I showed her my inspiration picture, she knew exactly what to do and hit it right on the head! The acrylic lasted for a long time with proper care, and stayed even as my nail grew. Mind you, it was not the $70+ from the Canyon Ranch at The Palazzo, but it was $38 plus tip, which is on the upper side of the range, considering I've been doing this weekly. The Lacquer Lounge is bright and spacious, with lots of tables and pedicure stations. I sat facing the windows and could watch the passersby in this busy Willow Festival shopping center.They didn't have a large selection of DD colors, and Hannah had to keep shaking the bottle and at one point she went to warm up the bottle? thin out the polish? because the texture was getting thick. Still, she did a nice job with the cuticles and hand massage and the color looks great. The other nail technicians had on cute pink uniforms although she did not. The salon was relaxing and was clean and I liked that every station had cleaner and the tables, chairs and furniture were well-cared for. The salon is peaceful - no televisions, no loud music. Just quiet conversation from other patrons and staff. It was so quiet that I was able to read a bit of the book I brought. It's brightly lit and feels sterile while also feeling welcoming. They have a great selection of brands and colors, both gel and traditional lacquer. I opted for OPI's Malaga Wine (there is no better color for transitioning to fall). Lina did a great job. She was detail-oriented. The salon itself was very quiet, no music, and the TV was on closed captioning so it's definitely great to meet friends here and have nice conversation. I understand, it's busy. After I told the guy why I wanted he repeatedly asked me if I wanted GELX instead, and I said no multiple times. Finally he said he thought it would look better and I asked how much they were. he told me $70 which is the same price as my nails usually so I said ok. After he RUSHED through my nails. Again, whatever. it's busy. but when were done and I went up to pay, the nails were $100! I absolutely would not have gotten them if I knew that. I felt really ripped off, and combined with everything else, I will NOT come back here.
