Final time I will be here. This is the 3rd time my services were rushed and by far the worst! This place has outrageous pricing and is no longer posted (against IL law). Pedicure was $35 (mine was exactly 18 mins long--the standard is 30 mins and she skipped several steps) My No-Chip Mani was $35 and is super lumpy/gritty. At one point the lady asked me if she put the top coat on, because she couldn't remember. Such a let down. I honestly have no idea what happened to this place because they use to be so good. I went for a pedicure last week and after being told on the phone that the price was $30 they charged me $40 when I checked out. There was not even a massage chair, as is common for most spa's on the North Shore. As I was walking out, I noticed one nail was cracked and uneven. So I went back in and the owner had to fix it. Not sure why the original person would leave it like that. The following day, I put my gym shoes on and realized that they never removed an ingrown nail that is usually part of a pedicure. I went back to address this, and not only could they not find the color I had on my toes but the owner was not there and no one would help me. So I walked out yet again dissatisfied. I realize this is a first world problem, however, a pedicure is a treat and one should be satisfied with the results. I would not recommend this spa. read more

I used to go to UB Nails Glenview all the time until the (then) owner was so busy talking to her colleagues that she cut my toenails completely differently on each foot. So I stopped going there for many years. Just went back, have been there 3 times. The first two were ok, but the third was a disaster. The "nail technician" (I use parantheses because I'm sure she's untrained) cut my nails so short that I was in pain - and yet she kept trying to cut them shorter!!!! Because she spoke no English it was nearly impossible to talk to her to stop her - but the technician next to her did. After 5 days my nails have only now just stopped hurting. NO MORE!!! This has been my salon for over ten years and I have been doing manicure and pedicures all this time. Most of the technicians are competent and courteous. Other than some plexiglass, there seems to be no covid processes. Customer & employee didn't wear masks. With just 2 customers there was no social distancing between manicure stations. Employee seated immediately behind me. Couldn't identify methods to clean implements. Seating areas were not wiped down between customers, just a spritz of something. For anyone looking for gel / shellac / no-chip manicures, this salon only carries 10-15 colors and none of them were particularly bright. As far as the other polishes go, that selection was limited and they appeared to be really old (sticky, thick). If they added a ton more polishes to their selection and rotated out their old inventory, this review would be a gonner! read more

Great atmosphere and very friendly staff! The salon is clean and my appointment started right on time. I was disappointed at first that there were not massage chairs for the pedicure but while I sat under the dryer at the end of my session my manicurist gave me a quick back massage which almost made up for it. I live near by so I regularly drive by, walk or bike here. I never make an appointment for my brow wax because I arrive regularly irregular :) and I have never been sent back home without being serviced! All the technicians are very nice and quiet. I actually am not good at small talk so I appreciate my quiet time especially when I get my nails done. Prices are good. The place gets busy. I've had my mom and my friend come here and they both like it, too. I highly recommend this place. And the person up front is always accommodating and friendly! The place is located in a small plaza so there are parking spaces around. There are times of a day when it's busier but I have never had an issue. read more

Went to UB Spa Nails with my sister this past weekend. We both got a manicure & pedicure, which I thought was reasonably priced at $40. I'm glad we made an appointment, because it was really busy on this particular Saturday afternoon. All the nail techs were busy with clients when several people 'walked-in' & were disappointed that they couldn't be serviced sooner. I'm a 'germaphobe' so I was pleased & relieved to see that after each client they disinfected all the equipment & areas. They had an assortment of polish colors, great selection. My only complaint was that my manicure chipped the day after I got it. I'm sure that it didn't help that I was washing dishes and getting my hands wet. But it would have been nice if it lasted at least 2-3 days. But needless to say, I would come back again. read more

I have lived all over California, the north shore, and Australia and this place is the best for the money! The first mani/Pedi I got here was a basic one and it still included massage for my feet/legs, hand/arms, and even a neck rub. My manicure lasted! (Didn't get the no-chip kind) and I do nothing but dishes, laundry, and painting!!! Wow! $40 for a mani/Pedi- but these girls deserve at least a $7-$10 tip! So the secret is go on a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. A mani/pedi is $35 so with a great tip (and they deserve it!!!) you can get all of that for $42-45) out the door. A LASTING and RELAXING ONE! They also have awesome spa mani/pedis and offer special green tea pedis if you are looking for something luxurious and different! Make an appointment- you can make one some day (usually within a few hours) and every time I have waited for no longer than 5 minutes. (And I usually go with my husband and they are accommodating to us- always make sure we are together) :) read more

Clean and organized as far as nail places go. They also have less crap laying around, some nail places over decorate with fake plants that just collect dust. The decor is simple and clean.They do regular mani/pedis, no-chip, dip nails and private parties. They will also fix a no-chip manicure if you get a chip within 2 weeks. I've been coming here for years so it makes me sad to write this. The new hires are not good. I got an ingrown toenail for the first time in 20 years after one young woman kept cutting the nail down the sides after I repeatedly told her to cut straight across. She also was really rough when pushing and cutting the cuticles. My daughter had the same experience with her. They hired two men. The younger man takes FOREVER for a regular manicure. The older guy is super rough. Furthermore, do not book an end of the day appointment. There were four or five people working there and they were either staring at me or mopping furiously. Send the extras home and tell the ones who stay what closing time is and to treat the last appointment as well as the first. Lastly, the pedicures have gotten lame. They barely try to get any dead skin off your heels and the leg massage is either way too hard (guy above) or half assed. I've been trying out other salons in the area. There are so many, I don't have to put up with how crappy UB has become. read more

Really clean and organized, but super poor no chip quality. I don't know if it was the lamp on no chip heater or what, but my experience was horrible. My nails wouldn't dry so it kept smudging....so much so that I had to come back the next day because I didn't have anymore time for her to fix it. You would think she would have given me a discount or gift certificate of some sort, but she didn't. She was apologetic, but that was about it. Googled nail salons near me and the name implied that it was a Mongolian owned salon. UB is short for Ulaanbaatar which is a capital city in Mongolia. I love supporting Mongolian business any chance I get as I am Mongolian. Young lady named Ichka did my manicure and pedicure and she did a beautiful job! An amazing place to treat yourself! Prices are very reasonable and you get more then what you pay for. Everyone does a great massage and they always take their time with you. No chips last over 2 weeks and regularly manicures last over a week. I am a hair colorist and have to shampoo a lot of heads of hair but my nails always last when I go to UB. I am licensed to do nails and know the rules when it comes to sanitation. UB nails is one of the ONLY places to follow the guide lines. Super clean salon. Love this place!!! read more

Pretty good place. Everyone seems very nice. I really liked that they have a large selection of no-chip colors. The girl that did my toes did a pretty good job. The guy that did my no-chip was top notch. He really seemed to know what he was doing and was easy to talk to. My only complaint would be the music. It was kind of.. "old." They need more fun and peppy music, at least on the weekends. They also don't take American Express, which is odd, for the area. Ill be back tho.. my nails look awesome. read more

The green tea pedicure is a must. They have specials Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. My favorite and only place to get Mani and pedi.

This place is my go-to salon in the NorthShore. It took a lot of trial/errors at other salons before finding this gem. They are quick, efficient, and sanitary. My pedis look good for 2-3 weeks and my manis last up to 10 days ( 2 weeks if i trim the ends ). Specials Mon-Wed for mani/pedi at $35. They finish each session with a quick shoulder massage. Never tried their other services, don't recommend their chair massages, great magazine selection to get current on hollywood gossip. Walk-ins are usually accommodated with a short wait time but during the summer this place gets super busy with a nail tech at every station so making an appt is always your best bet. read more

I got my nails done here today. I have to say that I absolutely adore my manicure! It's been hard for me to find a place that will get a french manicure right. The last salon I went to did such a poor job, but this place is great! I have to say just for a french, its a little pricey ($20) but I definitely love it! And it has a touch of glitter, which made it even prettier! Totally recommend this place. It is a very cute salon! My friend and I went together and they seated us right next to each other, which was nice so we got to talk. I wish I had gotten a pedicure too to match my manicure, but there is always next time!
