I'm utterly shocked at the difficulty it is to communicate with this business. I faithfully chose this company for tax preparation because they were on Dave Ramsey's trusted list of businesses but do have my regrets. The hidden fees, the ghosting, no follow-through when my taxes got lost (yes, this was panic-worthy), the amended taxes months later with zero communication, just a mailed packet. At the very least, a phone call explaining this amendment would be appreciated. I then called multiple times asking to speak with someone and am still waiting. It's been weeks. This year, she lost her customer service skills, rushes through the taxes, doesn't ask the client any questions and bluntly just stares at her computer screen. If I could give zero stars, I would. This was by far the most unprofessional, disorganized, and flat-out disrespectful experience I've ever had with any service--let alone something as important as taxes. I was dragged along for MONTHS, starting in October 2024, with nothing but empty promises that my taxes were being worked on. I was repeatedly told papers were coming, that things were being filed--spoiler alert: nothing ever was. Emails went unanswered for weeks. Phone calls ignored. I was once left on hold for over an hour until the office closed, and no one ever picked up. No callback. No explanation. Nothing. When I tried to get answers, I was literally called "annoying" for following up too often. Apparently asking for basic communication and updates on something time-sensitive makes me a problem. What kind of business thinks that's okay? To make things worse, I was told my tax extension was taken care of. It wasn't. I had to scramble and file it myself at the last minute. And just to top it off, they bashed my bookkeeper's work without offering anything useful to move forward. This whole experience was a nightmare. Unresponsive, rude, unreliable, and careless. And did not provide any financial updates for 2023 and 2024. but did not hesitated to auto withdraw from my account even though she is not my accountant anymore. I own a coffee shop across her business. You think she would have a fiduciary to service her client. They don't answer your phone calls. Hardly ever replies to the email. Someone in her office cancelled my appointment in mid March and never returned my calls to reschedule. I was told that Kim would work on my taxes and we'd schedule a 10 minute meeting to review the details - that never happened. Last minute, on my own, I tried to file an extension but the IRS stated that it had been filed - I can only assume that the extension was filed by Kim's office. It's been over two weeks since the deadline and I have left messages to no avail. During one brief conversation with office staff, they admitted that "someone" had not printed all of my files. She breezed through our tax appointment in 15 minutes and talked really fast and I felt rushed. All that is fine and I guess I would still go back to her again for my taxes. This review is for the office, who seem to make multiple mistakes that are kinda scary given that they have my very personal information in their hands. I received two emails meant for someone else, and when I got my tax return, my name wasn't even correct on the envelope. These mistakes like I said make me nervous. Kimberley received my tax documents on Feb 16, 2021. She filed an extension. During that time I made many phone calls, started out once a day up to 4 times in a day. I also sat in her lobby in hopes to get updates knowing April 15th was getting closer, she never returned my calls. She finally completed my taxes on Oct. 4, 2021. She filed an extension. But never advised me to send in an estimated amount by April 15th. I am not a tax person. I trusted her to be the professional and direct me on what I needed to do. She didn't. I have accrued over 10k in penalties and interest charges from both the IRS and State. When I told her this was on her (her fault), what was she going to do to make it right. I know Kimberly for a couple of years, and I wish that I knew her before that. She impressed me by excellent work that she did for my annual taxes and all I had to do was just to sign the documents, she took care of everything. Recently I received a nasty letter from IRS regarding my 2019 taxes and they were after collecting more tax from the house that I owned in San Jose. I sent that letter to Kimberly and somehow, she took care of it by contacting the IRS and yesterday IRS informed me that information you provided resolved the tax issue and inquiry is now closed. This is the most unprofessional business I have ever experienced! I had an initial appointment 3 1/2 months ago on a Wednesday with Kimberly Pollard the owner. I was told I would get an email that night with a few items still needed and my taxes would be done within 10 days. THAT NEVER HAPPENED! I spoke to the receptionist 4 times. Afternoon speaking directly to Kimberly's receptionist on four occasions and leaving nine phone messages. All the receptionist could say was, " I don't know how this could've happened?" REALLY??? 2021 tax season is the one and only time I will ever use this service. I will say that leaving after the initial consultation (even though she was running late due to another client and then making us leave at the appointed time for her next client) I felt completely comfortable and happy with Kimberly. We did not have all documents needed but she told us we would be getting an email that night letting us know exactly what she needed. Two days later I called her office to let them know we never got the email and I still needed to know what to send. I was told we would get an email that day. We did not get one. I ended up sending what I could remember and after several unanswered messages they finally answered and I was told that they had what they needed. From there I called NUMEROUS times trying to find out what was going on with our taxes and when they would be completed. If they answered I was told she was with a client and would get back to me. Most of the time they would not answer the phone and my messages were never answered and calls never returned. I left messages telling them I did not want to file an extension and I did not want to pay late fees if I owed money. Needless to say my taxes were filed late and I had to pay the penalty for late tax filing. She never called me until after the tax deadline and then answered every time I called.
