You may be considering a less expensive contractor, but I would tell you that in the end, whatever the marginal difference is in cost, you'll save yourself plenty of headache, time and money knowing that the job was done right the first time. Don't waste your time working with an unreliable or unscrupulous contractor. Anthony is honest and will not fail to deliver. He does not cut corners. He is fully licensed and maintains a clean worksite and finishes the job(s) on or ahead of schedule. It was refreshing to deal with a contractor who is a stand-up guy (his subcontractors said so as well which is always a good sign), provides good service (above and beyond) but also gets the job done. He and his workers did an excellent job installing flooring and painting in some rooms, redid a fireplace, and finished my garage. The work was stellar and he provided good guidance and suggestions along the way. I'm already looking to work on more projects with him.

He explained clearly and answered all my questions, and he helped me see the issues with my own eyes so I could understand. He then gave me several options to repair or re-cover the roof. We discussed the options, and I asked him if we should also consider tearing the existing roof down to the studs and doing a full replacement. He gave me a very honest answer of what it would cost (a lot more) and that he didn't think that was necessary right now. He sold me what he thought was best for my roof, not the solution that would make him the most money. And he guaranteed his work for 15 years. When we inspected the roof again on the first day the crew began working, I found a few more concerning spots we hadn't seen on first inspection. Charles noted them and came up with solutions that worked, fit within our timeline and the budget. His crew worked quickly and did high quality work. They were all very kind and respectful of our house and our neighbors. I also dealt with Charles' son several times during the process - I believe he is taking over the business from his father. He was just as kind, patient, and respectful as Charles. I would recommend Charles and his company to anyone who needs roof work, whether you need a small patch or a full redo. He's fantastic, kind, trustworthy, and reliable. P.S. I'm writing this review over a year later, in early 2024, and I'm still just as completely thrilled with their work and their support as I was when they first completed the job.

I would recommend anyone looking to hire Chris to keep reading, and then think again. We found Chris through Sweeten.com, a good website for obtaining vetted contractor names. However, they only make money from contractors and solely support the contractors if the project goes south - go read their reviews. First, the good with Chris. He is a yes man, something we originally liked. He says yes to everything. Every idea, every suggestion - he can do it all, so he says. This gets annoying after a while when you realize he's just saying what you want to hear. Chris is relatively easy to get ahold of. He picks up the phone more often than not, or will return calls promptly. Also, he's not a penny pincher when it comes to change orders. We made plenty of changes throughout our contract without any fuss from Chris having to charge us extra. Now for the bad. As a general contractor, Chris does not have the deep rolodex you'd expect from someone leading your project. He doesn't have a list of 5-6 subcontractors lined up ready and waiting on jobs. We had to wait weeks for a plumber to show up and had to bring in our own HVAC company. His workers and subcontractors are disrespectful and careless, they don't think two steps ahead. We had damage to a brand-new fiberglass tub due to a worker wearing boots in the tub and there was the time they left brand new molding outside in the rain, thus ruining it. Often it felt like his guys would measure once and cut twice. During our project we had to place three separate molding orders and had to place additional orders for backsplash, flooring, and bathroom tiles due to waste and/or incorrect measurements, all of which came from out of our pocket. Back to Chris. He's not a good communicator and he has poor project management organization - two important characteristics you expect in your GC. Twice there were 2+ week periods when we had no workers at the house and there were multiple days when only 1 guy showed up. Chris would tell us to order finishes yet they would sit around for 90+ days well past their return date if we didn't like it once installed. They would paint before finishing the floors or demo a perfectly good bathroom we were using before the new bathroom was ready. When a new job was being started there was little to no notification from Chris. On top of that, there were multiple times he would leave town for family vacations without any prior notification. And for the icing on the cake, Chris burned our house down.

We recently used them to remodel our kitchen, bathroom , hallways and living area in our home and have been beyond happy with the process and the results. Being a realtor and having year of experience in property development, I have worked with many other contractors and now know when I'm working with someone who knows their business and knows it well. Chris takes genuine pride in the quality of the work his company and men do and rightfully so- they are top notch! Although I wanted to use Privilege Construction because it came highly recommended by my friend,  I wanted to also get bids from other renovation contractors for our remodel just to be compare. When compared with the other bids, I was very impressed with Privilege's pricing and the level of detail outlined in his bid. Another important factor for me in choosing the right contractor was the total time involved it would take to complete our renovation. We needed our project completed in eight weeks. We knew it would be tight and other contractors told us so but Chris absolutely pulled through for us. Our kitchen and bathroom look  amazing, and both are so much more functional than before. We were absolutely delighted (and surprised based on experience with other contractors) that the remodel stayed on schedule and within our budget.  He installed new plumbing, new electrical and heating. Chris has multiple contacts throughout the city and was able to provide me with numerous sources so that I can compare different types of finishes I wanted and also the appliances I wanted!  He was very helpful through the decision making process.   All the work performed is of the highest standard. Remodeling, (whether it is big or small) can be very stressful- it is a big chunk of money and you are entrusting someone with your money and your precious home! Having Chris from Privilege as our contractor really helped alleviate our concerns and I will definitely be calling him for any future renovation needs we may have. Thank you Chris!

We found Kav Contracting during an emergency, when our usual plumber thought we could live with a…read moreplumbing problem for a few days before he could get to us. We couldn't. Besides taking care of the plumbing, we have used Kav for a stove instillation, where he discovered and replaced dangerous disintegrating and pipes, and for several other jobs. We plan on hiring Kav Contracting for repairs to the cement on our garage, replacing a doorway, flooring installation, and whatever else comes up. It's like owing a home but with access to the world's best superintendent. Competent, always a job well done, easy to work with, and reasonable, we are thrilled with the work every time.
