I couldn't have managed without Varco Hospice. Dee was my angel to help me navigate through my mother's care.

I have used this group for my mom several times and they've been excellent…read more However, the last time I was told there would be a follow up appointment and there was not one scheduled. When I called to check on the follow up, they did not have one and said they could not get her in for two or three days. When you tell someone there's an appointment, there should be an appointment! Terribly disappointed and I will not call them again.

Unfortunately the lowest review is 1 star, which I don't believe they deserve!…read more This service is only about the $$$, they could care less for the patients and their well being. My elderly mother was extremely dehydrated and we had to request their service in multiple occasions to administer her fluids. During those visits we had some teams that were AMAZING and caring, but there were a couple of RNs that were specially entitled and it seemed that they were offering free services because they treated us and my mom as if we should be grateful they were giving us the time of day. I have done some research and reached out to some of the people that have given this service poor reviews and found out these two are the reason for the reviews.... RN Daniel and RN Molly. They could care less that a human being calls them because they are in need of medical assistance. The last time Molly was called out to my home she had already made up her mind that she did not feel my mom needed the service even before arriving on site. She called me to advise they were on their way and questioned why they needed to come, I explained again the situation and that my mom's specialist had ordered the fluids due to he latest labs. She got home and the Homehealth nurse was leaving and she questioned her why she couldn't do the service, the nurse politely explained and she again reluctantly came in. The tech accompanying her is amazing, he had been there before, he knew my mom and the situation. My moms veins are fragile and dehydrated even more she becomes a hard stick. He tried once and could not get a vein, so Molly proceeded to try. In the meantime, continuously asking why the specialist ordered the fluids and if I had had a talk with him about changing the frequency he had ordered. I decided to call him and hopefully have him or his nurse explain it again to her. While on the phone with the Dr's office she tried and could not get a vein, the Tech tried again and couldnt either. The Dr explained my mom needed to keep the every other day frequency, at that moment she categorically said we will not do the service. I hanged up the call and asked her why, she said we tried 3 times and no, we will not do it anymore. The Tech said, I know her, I know her veins, I know she needs the fluids, let me try it one more time, I am confident I can do it, I really dont want to leave without giving her the fluids... she said its not your call, we will not do it. I asked why, she said we tried and the answer is no, it is not his call. I blew up, seeing how my mother was weak and in need of the fluids and seeing how she could just give up (way before even stepping foot in the house) and refuse service and told her to leave my home, that she was just being a B... Yes, sorry, I blew up. She was mean and entitled and knew she had the power and decided to use it.... sorry, but I am not sorry, she was. She then proceeded to leave, slam my front door and called Dispatch to BAN us from getting any more service from them in the future. Although I called, exposed the whole case, told them I have her on my mom's room camera (I keep one there to make sure I keep an eye on her when I am downstairs in my office working) the service sided with her and we no longer can get serviced..... the Tech was so ashamed of her, he knows that she was in the wrong.... so do I!!! I just hope that life doesn't turn on her and that she or someone she cares for doesn't have to put their life in the hands of someone as despicable and mean as her.... but Karma is a B...!
