Met with doctor for Carotid surgery. He seems nice and explained the procedure pros and cons, but surgery prep was incorrect due to office staff incompetence and surgery was cancelled by the hospital. Office staff tried to justify it by saying my meds were incorrect, when in fact their records were incorrect. Now I have to reschedule, but don't want to put my life in the hands of the office staff. read more

I'm updating my rating of Dr. Vardayo and his office. My husband has been dealing with a blockage in his carotid artery since February 2021. He was referred to Dr. Vardayo's office--big mistake! My husband has gone through two ultrasounds and a CT scan. Every time he has these tests done, it's another 3 weeks til he gets the results from Vardayo. His last appointment with him was September 22, where Vardayo said it would be about 3 weeks for his surgery. Well, 3 weeks has come and gone and no word from his office. His staff is totally incompetent. My husband told them to have the doctor call him--no call. He's supposed to start a medication a week before the surgery, but no surgery has been scheduled. When he last saw Vardayo, he told him that he would call our primary doctor to see if he's ok for surgery. She hadn't heard a word from him. She was trying to make excuses for the doctor, which is upsetting. My first review of his office was for one visit I had, when he told me that I needed a thoracic surgeon and not vascular. read more

The office staff is not good. If you're referred to a vascular surgeon, it's a pretty serious and scary thing for us. You shouldn't have to deal with office staff that lack empathy, don't return calls, and don't show any concern in either care or attitude. Believe the bad reviews that are left here. Well not too happy with appt today the doctor did a complete 180 from my first visit? My whole family felt the coldness from Dr. Vardayo. Well the one thing is I feel he is a good surgeon in the field of vascular medicine. The negative was and still is his staff of 3 girls who are extremely rude and so unprofessional they dictate the patient doctor relationship. So my first time calling I had the privilege of dealing with a girl who answered the phone upon asking her some questions she became very hostile towards me. I had informed this girl I made many calls in a week and could never get anyone on the phone! This girl was talking back like I was her step child she was mad because I said you guys were late. I told her what time I called and the exchange said they were not in it was after 9 am. This girl wanted to argue plus the other times I called to get an appt.,I had to hang up on her, I was done with her. I waited 2 weeks as I did not want to go to this office due to the behavior of the young unprofessional girl who let us know that she is allowed to talk back and sass and not let a patient get a word in....no reason to go here. This must be her first job very sad she was so ghetto. So I was told by my insurance this was where I had to go. So reluctantly I called and asked for Megan and she was much better and assisted me. So now I have an appt. for my surgery and I am good, after me doing so much to get it done. I had to keep making calls to this office and was asked about pre op? Then I had to call the hospital to find out about pre op stuff. . Good thing I was pro active or the surgery would of never happened From what I gathered the staff at this office has an issue with Los Alamitos all I heard was...This is why I hate LAMC and love LBMMC. Well I have only had negative at LBMMC and chose to not go there So back to pre op, I was asked about Lab work? Then I had to call Irma or Inez at Vardayo's office and she began once again...see you could of just walked into LBMMC I don't know how LAMC does their stuff! Then she says I gave them all the paperwork they have it! I said but you could not even called to let me know I needed Lab work prior to the surgery? The kicker is now my surgery is 2 days away.....lmao. So I called LAMC was they said just come in, so I went to fet my lab work done. I was very upset that no one took responsibility for the lack attention needed prior to this surgery, everyone was blaming each other and I was in the middle. If I had not been so pro active this surgery would never have taken place. So when I was awaiting surgery and spokeswoman for LAMC came to speak to me her name was Judy, she said she would discuss this with Dr. Vardayo, we feel this is why he was so standoffish to us today, we felt like we were bothering him. Not to mention I went to ER 2 days ago due to things my paperwork said to seek immediate attention if any of the following happens. The Urgent care staff looked at my arm and said get to the ER NOW! So you know about my ER visit and ultrasound. I spent like a good 5 mins today and was not too happy with the appt. I will not go back how awful this staff and office was. I just hope my arm heals with no further problems. This is a nightmare on top of the staff maybe if they weren't allowed to be !@#$ up and mouthy it could of been better. read more

THIS SHOULD BE ZERO STARS!!!! I had my first apt. With Dr. Vardayo months ago. He was supposed to look over a report on an ultra sound I had done and get back to me with what he saw. I had to call the office several times and 4 WEEKS LATER he finally calls to inform me that he didn't receive the correct information. It takes 4 weeks to figure that out?? Or did he wait for 4 weeks to look at my file?? I had the correct information faxed to the office and it's been another FOUR WEEKS and several phone calls and I still haven't heard back from him and I don't want to now. IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A KNOWLEDGABLE/HELPFUL DOCTOR WITH A GREAT OFFICE STAFF, DO YOURSELF A HUGE FAVOR AND CONTINUE LOOKING!!! read more

Avoid avoid avoid. Terrible experience. I went in for a ten minute consultation. They told me they took my insurance, I paid my copay, and then four months later I get a bill for $300. They tried to spin a tale about how they *do* take my insurance, just not all pans. How convenient they left that part out. They doctor was nice enough but basically didn't know anything. Great Doctor, Terrible front office staff...It took many calls to set up 1st appointment and then to get scan done as per Doctors order, it never happened. So I called back got stuck on hold for over 10 minutes, she came back and said they were waiting for approval from my main Doctor or maybe Insurance co. I don't know which she never said...so now I wait for a life threatening scan....which should have been done months ago... read more

This is the most unprofessional office I've ever seen. No call backs then when they finally do the lab results have expired and if you question them, they hang up!! Twice!! The worst experience I ever had. The receptionist Irma or I should say Erma how she corrected me to pronounce it, is really rude and unprofessional. She treated me very rudely, she was very sarcastic, and talked and treated me as if I was stupid in a very slow motion way. She was very heartless and careless. The staff specially Erma needs alot of training in how to deal and treat patience especially because they do not know the mental state of a patient and what they going through. And even my doctor Ankur Gupta did not want to see any further into my condition he try to tell me that's all he can do for me. And had to deal with my problem by wearing compression stockings for the rest of my time. I had to be firm and was upset to tell him there had to be more than this for him to do. After sending me for more test my problem wasn't where he had stated to be in the 1st place. I had the surgery done by him anyway, which I regret now. I should had walk out of the office after he said there is nothing else to be done. And had my insurance referred me to another doctor for a 2nd opinion. My first visit to Dr. Vardayo was a waste of time. I went in with what I thought was varicose veins but he said I didn't have varicose veins - offered no information as to what was causing the extreme pain in my calves and and did absolutely no tests (i.e ultrasound) to determine the cause. After locating a different doctor I tried contacting Dr. Vardayo's office on a Wednesday but kept getting the answering service. I was finally told they don't take ANY calls on Wednesdays because they are busy doing procedures. I can't imagine any medical office not having the funds to staff his office with someone to take calls. After leaving a message with the service I did receive a call back and requested all the notes from my first meeting. They would only release the forms if I had the new doctor or my primary doctor sign a release form. I asked if they could just mail the info directly to me and the response was I would have to come in and sign a release form personally. This was the worst experience I ever had with a doctor's practice. I should have know from the start since the staff was terrible when I called initially to make the first appointment but this was a referral from my primary doctor so i opted to take a chance. My mother is in her 70s and was referred to Dr. Vardayo through her pediatrist for a wound that wasn't healing. She was told her foot would be amputated if she didn't get the vascular help right away. GUESS WHAT! Dr.Vardayo saved the foot and she's been walking around no trouble. I called the ladies in the front let them know the situation and they brought my mother in the next day. I spoke to Ms. Aimee and Ms. Megan they were just too sweet and cared for our problems. They kept me in the loop constantly. Erma got the surgery scheduled with no problem, called me with detail instructions and now here we are with both feet (plus the toes). Everyone in the office was knowledgeable, trusting, efficient and make you feel like family. Vry grateful for this office. read more

Will never go to this place. I wouldn't even give him 1 star but the system makes me do such. The office manager, Megan is the most unprofessional and mean person; and the way she treats elderly people. Do not take your elderly parents or partners to this doctor. I wouldn't even take my enemies to these people; the staff is horrible. We went else where and glad we did. Don't waste your time or energy with this place. It should go out of business.
