Recently suffered from a hangnail that's been giving me grief for a couple years now and got it taken care of by Dr. Weingarten twice now. He was kind and super efficient both times, gave me tips for how to prevent it, and even gave me supplies for aftercare. However, I'm giving his business two stars because of the receptionists in the front. Even though I had a referral from my doctor, and showed them my insurance card, they refused to take it, making me pay over $500 out of pocket. They never asked me over the phone for my insurance, nor when I arrived 15 minutes ahead of time for my appointment, even though this is standard procedure at literally every medical office I've ever been to. I'm not sure if they assumed that because I paid out of pocket the first time, I would do it again (didn't have insurance at that time), but I hadn't been to the center in over *2 years*. It's just so weird that they didn't think to double-check, and then they proceeded to blame me for not bringing it up, giving me an attitude and everything. Based on the whole experience, I really should give one star but Dr. Weingarten was great, so two stars it is. read more

This experience was one of the few times yelp failed me...somewhat. I only say somewhat because I never got to see the doctor. I'll try and be brief. I've been experiencing pain in my foot for some time now but had never been bad enough that I felt I should see a professional. Onto today. My day started in Sacramento where I was attending a business meeting. Today of all days, my foot was killin' me. I was scheduled to fly back late this afternoon. I found them on yelp and seeing Al the positive reviews, I made an appt online for tomorrow (3/27). Well my meeting ended ON TIME and I decided to get on standby for an earlier flight and high tailed it to the airport in the hopes I could make the earlier flight and be seen today (3/26). Everything worked out perfectly and I got to the airport quickly and made it in time to get on the earlier flight. Once I confirmed my place at the gate, I contacted them, informed them of the situation and asked if I could move my appointment to this afternoon. They were able to accommodate my request. I made it back in town, dropped off my travel items, and headed to their office. When I arrived, there were two women at the front desk. I don't exactly remember how the initial interaction went as I was a bit distracted by the pain I was in, but eventually I was told I'd need to fill out some paperwork. No problem. Typical for an initial visit. One of the women then tells me they'll need to make copies of my insurance card. I informed her I'd already provided that when I made my initial appointment online. The woman appeared to check something on her computer than informed me she didn't see that it had been submitted. FIRST RED FLAG! I then asked her for an email address so I could email the info. The other woman wrote it on the first page of the paperwork and handed it to me. I had a seat and began to fill out the paperwork. It was quite a bit to fill out, however I got through it and when I got to the final page, it was a document stating they wanted my credit card information to keep on file in case I had any co-pays. I approached the front desk and informed the women that I was not comfortable with my credit card information being kept on file and asked if I had to complete that form to be seen. She replied that it was and gave some explanation about it only being used if payment hadn't been rendered for services after two months had elapsed. I reiterated my discomfort with my credit card information being kept on file. I was told they'd check but that was typical policy. Not long after that the woman returned and explained that they'd verified my coverage and I still had an outstanding deductible with my insurer and incorrectly explained that because I would still be responsible for 10% of the cost of the service(s), I'd have to leave my credit card information on file to be seen. RED FLAG #2 for not understanding that because I had not yet met my annual deductible, I would actually be responsible for 100% of the cost. At this point I was already irritated, in serious pain, and not feeling great at the customer service I was experiencing. Before I blew my top, I chose to ask for my paperwork back and informed them I would just go elsewhere. There was no attempt to accommodate me. The receptionist actually seemed annoyed at my response. I was then handed back my paperwork and allowed to walk out the door. By the way, most medical providers SALIVATE when they see what great insurance I have. They let a potential new customer walk out the door with no attempt to accommodate an issue that could have easily been resolved. HERE'S A NOVEL CONCEPT. How about requiring me to render payment up front before being seen??? Maybe they assumed from my appearance I couldn't pay the bill. Anyway, found another doctor about an hour later who TOOK MY PAYMENT UP FRONT!!! Imagine that! I got to see a doctor, get my foot x-rayed and at least confirm my foot wasn't broken. Check my profile. I rarely leave reviews on yelp. But given the lengths I went through to get there and being treated less than while in significant pain, I had to leave this review really just to get this off my chest so I wouldn't be up all night. I'm sure they are great doctors and have helped many people in the community, but not likely I'll return. read more

Highly Recommend Review not for the squirmish. Painful steps convinced bf that his toe problem was only getting worse. Friends advised getting a pedicure. No manicurist will do such work, thank goodness. One place acted as though he should have been wearing a bell and shooed him out unceremoniously. "GO TO A PODIATRIST!" I said quietly, again, and did a Yelp search. Yelp reviews were very encouraging and Dr. Weingarten deserves all their five stars. I was in so much pain from my pinky toe I couldn't wear certain shoes and would feel sharper pain if I were to stand in one place for too long, which doesn't work for me because I do hair and I'm a always standing for long periods of time. When I saw Dr. Weingarten I explained my pain and he quickly knew what the problem was and how to treat it without causing me further pain. Not only did he solve my toe pain he also corrected my back pain. Because of all the pain my toe was feeling it caused me to walk crooked, so not only did I have pain on my toe I had it all over my lower back, for years. I have been seeing Doctor Weingarten for about three years now. He is friendly, kind, and knowledgeable about his field. In my life experiences it is sadly not common to have a great doctor and a great staff, but in this case, his office staff are wonderful. Super friendly and accommodating. He's professional, easy to relate to, warm, funny, and took the time to actually listen to my concerns, and then educated me about the different treatment options. Dr. Weingarten wastes NO TIME with getting you checked out. I have had chronic plantar fasciitis for about 5 years from track and field. I never really recovered even with physical therapy. My life has completely stopped, I couldn't even handle walking at the grocery store for more than 15 minutes, and I'm only 24. Dr. Weingarten is a serious and reserved man, but had no problem answering my questions as well as getting me corticosteroid shots in my foot (they hurt very much) and X-rays. He recommended me stretches as well as gave me ibuprofen for the pain. He already said he will push through to my insurance to get me arch supports that are made specifically for me. This man is FAST in his appointments and will get you in and out in about 15-20 minutes. Great doctor, straight and to the point. Wastes no time when it comes to fixing your life. He told me the goal is for me to have a normal life again. Do what he says and I'm sure he will find a way to make sure you get your life back! His office is clean and his receptionists are nice!
