I turned her on to Carter's a long time ago and it's still one of the best places in town to get fabric and craft needs. It opened back in 1988 and I have stopped in a couple times over the years just to look around. There are so many big round bolts of material head high and on many aisles. There is one other fabric store that might be able to compete with Carter's on pricing but I guess it comes down to the amount of variety in the designs and prints available for your needs at the time.

I do find their fabric selections to be much smaller in scale at their new location even though it is extremely larger. I don't understand that. They don't have upholstery silks or faux silks and crepes which is a disappointment. I do miss the volume of selections they had at the old location. None the less, the staff is just as helpful and pleasant as they've always been. As far as prices, they are competitive with other locations. Still my go to fabric store.

BUT you can order online and pick up in store SAME DAY (which would be fine if they had it ready by the time they promise)- make this make sense. Why place more work on your already overworked employees when I can just come in and get it myself? if you need something in a hurry your only option is to pay outrageous prices in store- IF they have it in stock. Also, if you reach out to customer service regarding any problem it'll be 24 hours before you receive a generic answer. Is it really too much to ask for a business to just advertise their prices across the board?

My second order came incomplete and once again I called, the girl could not find my order and said that she would call me back. Nothing!! They didn't mess up once, but twice. I am done! I have told my colleges to never buy from this place again. Is not worth the headache. There is no respect for other peoples business and money. At this point, I do not want an apology, I want my fabrics which, I have paid for.
