All their instructors are very knowledgeable, and actually know how to teach every type of person. Whether it be language barriers, varying age groups, or even different learning speeds. Now, onto my most important point, during my course with them, I noticed how incredibly diverse and inclusive their roster of employees, instructors, and students were. I loved seeing that everyone in my class could look to their right or left, and see someone that looked like them, teaching or conducting an exam or even running a company. If you are considering a place to take your first aid or lifesaving courses with, look no further. Family changing room is always crowded, there is almost no place to put your things (4 working lockers for any amount of kids at the time), not too clean. Note that while you are waiting for your child, there will be nowhere to sit so some parents have to wait in the car. The library is very small, open 4 days a weeks for a couple of hours.

When you arrive at the change area, you check-in with security to ensure you have booked the correct time slot (cannot have more than 25 skaters at any one time). The change area is separate into 6 tables to slap on your skates and enjoy the well groomed surface. The rink is more a square than the typical recto-oval we are all too familiar with. The organic nature this rink takes on, slight incline from the entrance to the natural obstacle course of bumps adds to the overall feel when enjoying the fresh air as you are doing laps and hit the unsuspecting speed bump to wake you up a bit. The staff are very friendly and love the high tech Zamboni that is deployed at the end of each 45 minute skating interval

This location has a large upper gym area, a pool, and courts for different sports. They also have classes throughout the day! With the membership price and the ability to access multiple locations, I definitely think a YMCA membership is worth the price if you plan to make use of everything that they offer.

I guess that's still true but I was surprised at how much the monotone grey-scale of the entire place made it feel cold in here. I guess I'll continue with a couple more critiques. One is that I don't understand why they don't simply keep towel racks in the plus change-rooms as they do at every other Y I've ever been to. It's part of what you're paying for, and though you can get them at the front desk, it just seemed odd that they just won't keep them stocked in the change-room for convenience. The change-room itself was quite small and has virtually no seats which was a bit odd too. Apart from those minor things, the workout area is well stocked and they even have a couple unique things in what is sort of a mini studio in the middle of the workout area. One thing I really appreciate this place as a runner is that their track is longer than most of the other ones as it circles the gymnasium as well. It's nice having longer straightaways so you don't feel like you're turning most of the time. If you're strictly into using weights, they do have what you need here though you can probably find other places to go to for cheaper. However, Y's (including this one) are great for having additional amenities, which includes a full-sized pool, gymnasium, running track, programming for kids and other things. There's also often more a community feel at them and often a chance to make connections too.

I've been here a few times for both skating and lane swim. Staff have always been nice and really…read moremake a point of providing accessibility. They allowed me to goof off in the recreational skating area with a friend in a wheelchair when it wasn't crowded. They have skates for rent and hot chocolate for sale. In terms of swimming, showers are old but work. There is an accessible shower corner with railings, seat and shower hose. Change rooms have ample bench space and you have the choice between coin operated lockers or just leaving your stuff in the cubbyholes. The lanes are WIDE and the pace is much slower than usual. Last time I went, their fast lane was a little crowded and almost everyone was going at a medium pace. The medium lane was extremely slow but I was able to get away with drills and sprints with only two other swimmers in there.
