Customer service is absolutely terrible. Rude and disrespectful to customers. I called to get help with a situation following direction to leave message. Needless to say I never received a return Call in regards to my situation. I called back again and got a receptionist that said I could not speak to the manager that they would get back to me when they could. I asked to be placed me on hold. The manager came to the phone very rude and angry for what reason I don't know. I explained to her that I was being charged with auto pay after the one year puppy care medical that I paid over $1000 dollars for my puppy care package. I did not realize that it had a automatic renewal which they charged me for two more months $50. My senior dog recently passed in her sleep/naturally. She was a 15+ year rescue old with severe heart complications and had been on medication/borrowed time for two years. I knew the day would come but it was still extremely difficult for me. That morning I called VCA and they were very gentle with me over the phone. I brought her in and again they were so considerate. When I went back to pick up her paw print, they had each signed a sympathy card and the receptionist gave her condolences. I'm so thankful for the way they handled me/us. Thank you VCA. read more

Moved to Texas in June. Started my dog on heartworm meds in May. Missed last month and called VCA to ask if I can resume or if she needs another Heartworm test. I was told they can't give the heartworm test without an exam and scheduled an appt for me two weeks out - their earliest availability. I called another local vet who explained I can just resume because it takes 6 or 7 months after being bitten for heartworm to show up on the tests so since we just missed one month mftr says to resume. I then did a web search and found same answer. Cancelled the appt with VCA and won't be going back there. But will definitely be going to the caring vet that gave me good advice and didn't try to make a buck unnecessarily. read more

From the front office staff, to the techs to our vet... the compassion and true caring that was shown to our Ozwald is first class. Ozwald is old and sliding down hill fast. They accommodated us with a semi emergent appointment. Spent all the time we needed with us, walked us through a treatment plan and gave us hope that we'd have him with us for a bit longer. My cat was attacked by something in our backyard. Once we took her to the vet we were told it was a bobcat, but the vet said very confidently "the good news...there were no broken bones or deep punctures so no organs were punctured, she is going to be fine". Despite the injuries, my cat was calm, relaxed, purring at the vet's table and walking on her own before being sedated, so I believed she was going to be fine. She was sedated for X-rays, to clean up the cuts and have some stitches. At the end of the visit on Thursday she was prescribed medication for pain and a follow-up appointment to remove the stitches was scheduled for Monday. But two days later she died (on Saturday)... despite three calls made to them within these two days letting them know she was very lethargic, not able to stand on her own and not eating or drinking water. During the calls we made, we were never able/allowed to talk to a doctor, it was always via the office staff who answered the phone. Not once were we told to bring our sweet kitty back to the clinic to check her to see why she was so lethargic, groggy, and non-reactive. We took her in on a Thursday; Friday we called twice with concerns about her condition, again we called Saturday early in the morning a lot more concerned about my sweet kitty still groggy and very lethargic; it seemed as if she were still sedated. Saturday she died at 12:50 PM. I am not a vet so I felt they knew what they were doing as they are the professionals and did not seem concerned, I thought maybe I was just overly worried. Again, before being sedated, at the vet's table she was calm, purring and walking on her own despite her injuries which didn't seem like anything more than deep scratches. When we talked to the office manager she admitted the situation and calls were not handled properly by their staff. In my opinion, I agree with her, the situation and calls were not handled properly by their staff; my precious kitty was not given proper care by the doctors and our concerns were ignored which resulted in my cat passing. She was never the same after that visit to VCA Forney Animal Hospital and before that she was my playful, sweet, short-legged, beautiful eyed, jewelry-loving, sweet and happy kitty girl. Instead of being back to her happy self I saw her struggle to take her last breath. read more

Highly recommend this place. They are professional and knowledgeable. My kitten got sick on MLK when every other vet was booked up but they let me come in even though they didn't have any appointments available. I had to wait a little but they got me in on SUCH short notice. They also have Saturday appointments which I appreciate because I work downtown everyday. The prices are pretty comparable to other vet clinics and they have most medicines in house. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!! I was looking for a new vet for my 9-year-old yellow lab because our old one shut down due to COVID-19. I scheduled my appointment with them called twice to verify what I needed for yearly vaccines and how much it was going to be. The women over the phone told me both times it was going to be $127. When I showed up for my appointment they wanted to know what vaccines I needed. After the conversation, I was talked out of all but 2 yearly vaccines I usually get because she told me I don't need them. She talked really fast and wasn't clear. I am not a vet and wasn't sure about anything. I have never had a problem at our previous vet and they never tried to upcharge or tell me I didn't need vaccines that I have always gotten. VCA called 20 min later to tell me my bill was now $321. Without 2 of the vaccines I needed. To lower the price I had to only get 6 months' worth of heartworm prevention. Now I have to figure out a solution for the last 6 months of heartworm prevention and the other needed vaccines. They deliberately mislead me for pricing to get me in the door. I will never be back. Walked out with all the paperwork and 3 months of Spectrum for 2. $380. Fast forward 3 months. Need more Spectrum. Come on by, no problem! $360. No way! Check 1800PetMeds, way cheaper, I think $125. PM asks vet for approval, vet says no. No retest should be required after just 3 months. Vet doesn't inquire or inform me of the denial. Great place my wife and I brought our lab puppy there to see why he wasn't growing hair in one place of one of his legs. We got more than we asked for, they tested his skin looked at his ears and thankfully told us is was nothing serious. They're always really kind and loving to my dogs, but they really went over the top at the vet visit today when I had my 2 German shepherds with me by myself one is 91 pounds and the other is 77.... Worst day of our vacation. Be careful of Forney Animal Hospital / Kennel. No one listened to anything we instructed them about when we "WALKED" our dog "Bridgett" in with a assisted walking harness to the Kennel side for a 5 day stay with them. They were told she needed assisted walking when they were to take her out to potty. She needed assistance to turn her from side to side every few hours. She needed the food and water in her reach since she could not reach it without assistance. They called us while on vacation to tell us they had to evacuate her bladder because she had not gone potty but once in 3 days. When they evacuated her bladder there was not much in there. This means that they were not giving her enough water or it was not close enough for her to get. She drank tons of water and had no issue urinating at home. We picked her up today. They handed her to us with all the harnesses still attached to her and they told us she would drink water when they stood her up. (Let that soak in a minute). The kennel staff told us we never took her out once, we only flipped her over every few hours based on the instructions from the front desk staff indicting the dog was paralyzed (again we "WALKED" her in) We questioned the staff as to what was dried all over the top of her head. Staff answer was, she was laying on a pillow so she has pillow hair. (It was actually dried poop or vomit covering an open wound we found) that she did not have going in. She now can barely walk since they never walked her for 5 days. Again we 'WALKED her in with a little assistance from a walking harness. Now starts the rehab all over again to get her walking if we even can, with all the apathy of 5 days without exercise. read more

Everyone was as nice as can be! The Vet, Dr. Anderson and her helper Sheree, were the best Pet Team I could have imagined handling my half tame, half feral, cat Shadow! He had been scratching at his ears and I knew it was time to see someone and had done the Search for a Vet on Yelp. Forney Animal Hospital was the choice and I am so happy it was. I had been going to this clinic since they opened but in recent years the service isn't the same. They are under staffed or take in more animals then they can actually handle. They are good at their job and explain everything they need to do before they do it and even have a payment plan but I have to move on. Right now, I waited on the phone for 11 minutes because they had to take care of another customer. I ended up hanging up because this isn't the first time this happens. Every time I call I always have to wait for them to be able to talk to me, even if I was returning a call. (Try calling, you're going to be put on hold as soon as they answer) And if you have a minor non-life threatening emergency or have to schedule in a last minute appointment, I wish you the best of luck. They will make you wait until they can squeeze you in. I waited 3 hours once to get my dog seen (yes I was that desperate but it didn't call for a hospital because he wasn't in pain and turns out he was okay). read more

I boarded my 3 dogs and our cat over the Thanksgiving weekend and all 3 dogs ended up with kennel cough. I took one in and they dismissed it as nothing, charged me for medicine that did nothing. That dog passed it on to another one of our dogs that we took to another vet that told us it was kennel cough and contagious. Now the third one has it. I wouldn't go back there if it was an emergency and there wasn't another vet open. Sure they were given a shot to prevent this, but it takes 15 days to do any good. They were given the shot when they arrived. To be clear, we had very healthy pets before we boarded them. read more

Amazing. I have been taking my dog here for the last year and a half. He is not the luckiest pup, we rescued him when he was in the middle of heartworm treatment, a few months later he got on the table (which we didn't know he could do) and ate all the holiday chocolate, a few months later he was bitten by a copperhead while we were walking in the park. You get the idea my pup is curious and has bad luck. The staff is amazing and I mean the whole staff is amazing, every person in that building genuinely cares about my dog, and me (I was a mess when he was bitten, they were calm, and very understanding of my state of mind) they called me with updates throughout the day and let me come in to hang out with him while he was still getting fluids. Needless to say all the vets in that building are fantastic at their job (we've seen all them), they are busy, but never too busy for an emergency, and their pricing is the fairest I have ever encountered. I cannot say enough nice things about them, but mostly I trust them with my dog, who is our furriest family member, and that is the highest praise I can think to give. read more

My chihuahua mix got into a fight with another dog while I was out of town. My husband treated him at home and I took him to the vet as soon as I got back (long story, and my husband and I are very experienced with animals - but it's our fault, I know.). The vet said we did everything we should have done and there wasn't much more he would have done for our dog if we'd brought him in sooner. He did a visual exam, shaved the hair around his two punctures, washed the wounds, took his temperature and gave us antibiotics and pain killers and said our dog would be fine in 7 to 10 days. Our dog died less than 24 hours later without presenting any new symptoms. While I will never forgive myself or my husband for waiting to take our dog in, the vet did say we did everything we should have done to treat him at home and I will always wonder if, had the vet done a more thorough examination such as blood work, ultrasounds, etc., our dog would still be alive. We're used to Texas A&M's animal hospital, and this vet sounded so confident that my dog would be fine and didn't even mention the other tests or treatments, so I didn't insist they be done and now I'll always wonder. Needless to say, we won't be taking any of our other pets to this clinic. read more

My three dogs have been patients of this clinic for the last three years and the service has always been very good. In January, my 2 year old Lab Jack started having seizures. The first came in the middle of the night back in September then nothing until January. After the first two I took him to the emergency room where he had another one. He was released after 24 hours and we followed up with his vet. I was able to get Jack right in where he saw Dr. Chambless who immediately was on top of it - checking him out and running tests to find out what caused the seizures. I was very appreciative of this because it eased my concerns. Since then we have been back to the emergency room and the vet's office where he has also seen Dr. Nix who referred me to a neurologist to confirm their conclusion. Jack has had several episodes due to the meds and I have always been able to get him in to see a doctor or get help by phone.
