I have nothing but good things to say about this vet clinic. We've taken 2 dogs there (first one had mast cell skin cancer) and they recommended Chinese herbs to prolong her life. (I appreciate the suggestion of natural things over medications.) Our other dog that we've taken there had a harder case to find what was wrong but Dr. Payne ordered 3 different labs and we found out some things wrong with our dog. He isn't cured yet (just found the info out today) but I appreciate the time spent with me going over symptoms and what could be causing his issues. Dr. Payne has always been professional and is very knowledgeable. Probably the vet we trust most out of all the vets we've been to. They try to keep costs down which I love as well. Today was our 2nd comprehensive visit and although I was on the phone due to covid restrictions I could feel the warmth and care in her voice as she cared for my dog Olivia. We had taken our dog in for what we had initially thought was a pulled leg muscle. After a couple of visits it was quickly determined that our pup of 9 years had prostate cancer. It had already started to spread to his back and pelvis. Both Dr. Cox and Dr. Douglas were sincere, thoughtful, and overall amazing individuals. The entire staff had befriended Tobi, and in general made all of us feel like family during a very difficult point in our lives. They took amazing care of Tobi during his final few months, and I can't possibly express how thankful I am for them. When Tobi finally passed they sent us a very nice card, and the VCA also planted a tree in his memory. My family will absolutely be continuing to take our animals here for the foreseeable future. They absolutely care about the animals they treat and we feel so grateful to have such great people in our community. read more

Save yourself some brain damage and just don't go here. They never had accurate records, never sent reminders so my animals shots etc went overdue and caused my pet insurance to lapse. Then they sent the wrong records to Embrace causing my dog to show a pre-existing condition that will not be covered now. I am still struggling to get the correct information to Embrace as they confirmed via phone that it was wrong. read more

Heartless! I went there to get help taking my dogs blood sugar. He is not a patient there but I figured it's a vet and they can help. I was told that he would have to have a full exam so they could help with the blood sugar test. Are you kidding me? I even asked if I got our meter could they assist me in doing the blood sugar and was told no. His regular vet is in Falcon and I am staying in Monument for a few days. I think it is despicable that you would charge a person for a full exam when all they needed was some guidance. I didn't have a problem paying for the assistance or the test, but a full exam, ridiculous. Shows that you only care about the money and not helping someone who just needed some support! Ive had two experiences with this location needed an appointment or emergency vet service and both times they have acted as though they did not care about the animals well being at all regardless of the situation and said they don't have time to handle it even though they are an emergency clinic. Dr. Cunz has been nothing but AMAZING. I drive all the way down to Monument from Highlands Ranch because my timid dog is so comfortable with her. She has always been nothing but helpful and always willing to do whatever it takes to make my dog comfortable. Personal experience: I think this business complained to Yelp about my last review because it "did not have enough detail." So, here is more. My family enjoyed taking our animals to this business when it used to be simply "Front Range Animal Hospital" in old Monument. The atmosphere was personable, and the support staff was friendly. In my opinion, other than a misdiagnosis of what was wrong with an elderly dog that would have died anyway, they did pretty good work. They still do pretty good work, but something has changed...they have sold out to a nation wide chain called VCA. You should Google them. Appointments are usually on time, but the atmosphere that I have experienced is now more corporate. I have felt more pressure to have elective procedures such as oral cleanings done. These run about $700. That's a lot higher than you pay at other local vet clinics. Some of the vets have changed, too, and our favorite young male vet is gone. We are not so happy as we were with the practice, and it doesn't have that hometown vet feeling anymore. It's not where I expect the vet to know me or my pet. Atmosphere and emotion matter in healthcare even for pets. On the positive side their larger new VCA building is beautiful, has plenty of free parking, and it's closer to Serrano's coffee. Added note: I have been told that this business now operates with the vets on something like commissions for productivity. read more

MY 12+ year old Golden hurt her foot while we are vacationing in the area. After calling 4 other Vets I discovered VCA was able to fit us in to their schedule. Dr Douglas has taken very good care of MacK. The front office staff and Vet tech have been great to work with. I was concerned about such a large corporate operation but feel we got the best treatment without any other additional costs. Fair price for what we needed done in a minor emergency. Can't say enough about the wonderful care our little dog received at this clinic. We were traveling through and he had to see a vet before we returned home. They worked us in and the staff and vet tech couldn't have been greater. He loved them all. Dr Reed was the best. She did a more thorough exam than our vet at home does. Spent more than enough time explaining how to treat his wound(no idea what it is or how got). Office even phoned following day to see how he was doing. Highly recommend this place. read more

I would like to say the Vet here did a wonderful job with my dog. However the front desk woman I spoke with today has made me change vets completely. I was running 10 minutes late for an appointment and called ahead to let them know I was in traffic. They told me I had 7 minutes to make it there or I could wait 2 hours for the vet. I would understand this in for most any situation, but I was only going for a quick follow up for post surgery. Again I would understand time constraints, as other people need to be seen. I just spent $300 4 days prior and the front desk woman wouldn't work with me at all. I tried to better explain my situation but she refused to work with me and than hung up on me. I wish the actual vet that worked there was at a different location because she was wonderful. If you can't understand that traffic is uncontrollable and thus make my pet to suffer for that is just unacceptable, I found another vet the same day and will now be going there. I suggest all who are looking to look somewhere else if you want a place to truly care for your pet the way you do. read more

I have no doubt that they care but we ended up spending $3K on a UTI for our dog. It was suggested that he also had an aggressive leukemia so we agreed to diagnostics and treatment to see that through. In the end, it was not needed and he just had a really severe UTI. Our neighbor who is a nurse says you always treat the UTI first. I then recalled that same sentiment from years ago when I worked at a hospital. The type of leukemia speculated was not a common one and we had reservations. They made it sound urgent and dire so we agreed to the cancer diagnostics even though it was costly. We expected the worse and spent the weekend mourning our dog who we thought would have to be put down soon. He did eventually get better due to antibiotics and is back to full health. I'm ambivalent because he's alive and well and we're thankful for that. I just wish the case was managed better so we didn't have to pay so much for things that ultimately weren't needed. I wouldn't consider ourselves well off so that was a bit of a blow to our savings. Treating the UTI alone would've been a fraction of the cost. read more

I've been going to front range for over a year now. I didn't really care what vet I went too for a while I just picked one but the cute little touches that this establishment does made me keep coming back. They always write a cute welcome note in the rooms. When Fiona had a minor surgery they sent me a picture of her post op ( so sweet!) they also called to check on her the following day. I really appreciated how sweet they all were to my dog. Shes always so uncomfortable at the vet but I knew she was in caring hands! I normally see Dr. Ala ( I know I spelled that wrong) but the other vets I worked with have all been wonderful. I worked with a gentleman tech that last couple visits and I appreciated how personable he was! I tried to catch his name but I can't remember anything!! They also have a very good system in place that reminds you when your pet is due for anything, and we always get nice reminders In the mail. They are so wonderful here!! read more
