My go-to bakery in Firenze! It is this small corner shop that is filled with so many baked goods- breads to take home to use for meals, pastries to eat on the go, the bakers/staff are so friendly and sweet too. You can't go wrong with anything you get there!

Lovely and delicious-looking selection. I grabbed one ricotta tarte on my way to Accademia Gallery. Very delicious, and the cheese has a hint of sweetness to it.

We just came from France on our Euro vacation, and most of the food lately has been sandwiches and croissants. I was tired of the same breakfast, so I was being a bit picky. My poor husband was trying to help me, so we looked for places on the way to our first museum. We had glanced at several shops on the way, but this one had some interesting looking bread pieces. I'm still not sure what they were called, but they were basically pieces of bread about 4 square inches with a couple pieces of vegetables or meat on it. Either way it looked different enough from plain croissants and sandwiches that I decided I wanted to try this place out. The woman behind the counter was able to speak enough English that we got along fine, and she was very sweet. My husband had two regular slices of pizza, and I tried four of the individual looking bread items; tomato, onion, potato, and sausage. They were all delicious and breakfast was a great success! I was happy and ready to go for the day. The shop had several options from sweet to savory. The only downside is no hot drinks, only a small selection of cold drinks. But you should try it out on your tour of the city.

Stumbled across this place a few days ago wondering through Firenze! The women who work there are so friendly! And speak English, which is a plus for me. Everything is very reasonably priced and delicious! I can't stop thinking about their berry croissant.

Fantastic pizza, but only about 6 people can sit down at once.

This review is long overdue for our visit back in November of 2024. I was looking up Nduja recipe…read moreand reminded myself this was the place that initiated my love for Nduja sauce. American/Aussie owned bakery brunch spot by the river, such a cute little eatery. We loved our visit and though it's definitely more of a touristy spot, as most customers spoke English, the food was delicious to forgo the tourist trappy vibes. We shared a plate and added some items as we didn't want to get too stuffed on our first day of Florence. We had the Nduja Eggs plate with bacon and avocado added. Nduja is a spicy Calabrian pepper spreadable pork sauce, and oh boy was it so flavorful. If I remembered correctly, Melaleuca spread this sauce on top of a fried bread and eggs. I don't see it on the menu at the moment and it's probably a rotatable dish... but it definitely kicked started my hunt for the sauce. Since this is a spreadable pork, it's not something I could bring back to the US but I was able to find it online back home. The service was amazing and the beverages were delicious. Like many Italian places, the dining room is small and bathroom is a single small room that might require a small wait if they're busy. Didn't get to try their baked goods this last time, but definitely on our list to go back for more when we're back to Florence for a visit.

I stopped by Gilli for the first time around 9pm on a Sunday night. The place stayed open night, which was very convenient especially since we've been having late dinners. I had the chance to enjoy a sit down in their outdoor patio. It's located right next to a piano bar and other busking performers when there wasn't entertainment at the bar next door. Ordering was interesting. You don't pay at the counter but rather at the corner register for everything to-go. On one of the nights when we grabbed a couple of drinks at Gilli, the server loaded my desserts order on a card that I redeemed to my waiter. Then my desserts were served to me a few moments later. So I had tried ricciarelli at another pasticceria down the street, but Gilli's were far more superior. The almond flavor was more prominent, the texture was much softer, and the powdered sugar wasn't broken. Loved it so much that I got boxes of it for myself and loved ones. I had the pleasure of trying all their "mignons" (mignardises) and was particularly fond of the lemon with pistachios, chocolate passion fruit, and coconut chocolate ones. That said, I always had to have ricciarelli among the little bites.

While in Florence, this is a must try place.. Tried the affogato and it was a bomb!! Their…read morechocolates are a must try but it was quite on the expensive side but worth the try.
