The email is very convenient so you can just write down what you need done and have no misunderstandings. Jorge was our tech and he arrived with my email printed out to do the work. While he was here, we tacked on more stuff, including fixing a smoke alarm and fixing a very old and weathered outdoor light. He was here for a few hours. We were so impressed with their work we had then come back a week later to finish up some things they couldn't do the previous trip (due to lack of time). They fixed other fixtures in the house, a few were as idiotic as needing dimmed light bulbs (expensive mistake) but others needed a lot of work done. I will be hiring them again for round 3 when we outfit the house for cable lines. Direct Current charges by the hour and they work super quickly so don't worry about getting ripped off. They did not finish these until NOVEMBER, because of multiple, multi-week gaps where I had to call the office repeatedly to find out what was going on because no one reached out to me. It was not made clear to me that it's "standard" to leave large holes (see attached) in the wall (which it's my responsibility to have fixed) at the beginning of the work. And when I complained about this, I was told that I'd have to hire a contractor to do the job or I could "just put a panel over it." Craig told me the panel was easy to do, and that he'd send me a link right to the panel I needed. After a week of waiting for the link, I called to ask about it - and they just sent me to a *generic website that sells panels*...which doesn't actually help me find the panel he'd recommend. Now I have holes in my basement wall, with cold air pouring in. And I need to hire someone else to fix it *over the holidays*, so the actual cost is going to be even higher and take even longer. I'd heard good things from others about Staples, and I think Craig is a really good guy -- but I wish to god I'd gone with someone else.

The Meyer electrician carelessly re-attached the box more than a full 2" below where it was, at the top of the frame (see photos). The box's misplacement now interferes with waterproofing the siding of my house, so I am now taking bids from other electricians just to raise the box. Upon seeing the photographs after the repair below, a contractor of my acquaintance commented, "That does look a bit shabby." I sent Walt Meyer an email with the photographs, with the comment that nobody should be proud of the job. His only response was to send me my paid invoice. Shabby is part of the company ethic. One review starts with "Don't do it. Just plain do it." I concur. The company takes no pride in its work. You may get lucky, but the company is cheap because it does not stand behind its work.

I had searched through Yelp and had set up three estimate appointments with split air conditioner…read morecompanies, one of which was with Cooling Tower. I wanted to cool a single large area with a cathedral ceiling and the first two company estimators walked through the area and checked the outside and gave a rough estimate with a BTU size for the air conditioner. They both took about five minutes each to give their quotes. No measurements or calculations, just an "eyeball" estimate. When Spencer Machida from Cooling Tower came he used a laser measuring device and a tablet to not only draw a floor plan with square footage but also calculated how many BTU's would be needed. He took into account the high ceiling and the square footage and gave me a quote for the whole job with a cost breakdown for the air conditioning unit and the materials needed and labor. His quote came in not only lower than the other two companies but he emailed me the cost breakdown and the pictures of how the outside of my townhouse would look with the installation of the piping and condenser. I was able to print these out and bring them to my townhouse association board meeting and got instant approval, since they needed those specs for their approval. I was able to schedule an appointment for installation with Spencer the next day and he installed the system himself the next week. One of the townhouse owners at the board meeting had been getting quotes for a split air system himself and I gave him Spencer's number. When I called Spencer the next day to schedule my installation, he said he was coming up later to do a estimate quote with the same owner. Later when he was doing the installation at our house, he said the other owner wanted to go with their company and was going to schedule an installation after he got solar panels installed first. He said the other owner decided to go with three bedrooms instead of his initial two. I guess the estimate quote Spencer gave him was much better than the other companies. Anyway now I am all set for the coming sweltering hot summer! I only wish I had done this years ago. My wife said I am so spoiled now that I want it on all the time. It is supposed to be good on electricity and I will find out the next electric bill. I very, very highly recommend Cooling Tower and Spencer Machida for a split air system. We needed some commercial electrical services done so with a quick google search and decent reviews…read morewe gave JAJ a shot. The dispatcher was super nice and made an appointment next day. Next day arrives and the ETA they gave came and went I called she explained what the issue was and a tech came out within the hour. Long story short he did a great job and had no issues. Fast forward we had another request we needed done in our server room, called them since they did a great job the 1st time. The made an appt with an ETA of 9am-10am. I get a call around 9:45 saying tech will be late due to a previous call and if they want us to get another tech which would take an hour but the original tech shouldn't take long. I said if he's finishing up then we will stick with the original tech. 12-12:30pm rolls around and I call checking the status of the tech, dispatch tried to figure out and says he's coming. I said at this point it was faster getting a new tech. We Close around 5pm. Tech doesn't come until 2:30, 4-5hours past the original appt. We show him what needs to be done then says oh I need to get my tools we ask how long will that take since you were already 4hrs late he said he would need another 1-2hrs. We said forget it, let's reschedule to that following Monday. As soon as the tech (3-3:15) leaves I call to solidify the appt for Monday because we had a cable tech coming Tuesday. Conveniently no one from their dispatch office picks up. So I left a voicemail asking for someone to call back in regards to booking an appt. I had a feeling something funny was going to happen as I never got a call back, I called Saturday mid morning, Sunday mid morning sent an email and voicemail, still nothing at this point. Monday rolls around and I get a text message saying we are scheduled for Tuesday. How are we scheduled for Tuesday when I was trying to contact you since Friday afternoon? I called yet again and still nothing. So I sent a pretty stern text which I got a reply due to employee spouse tragic accident pretty much made everything chaotic. Which still doesn't explain why you cannot respond when your hours online list your open over the weekend as well. I had my colleague call and what do you know they picked up. He explains the frustration and she assures we can get a tech Tuesday between 6:30-7:30am. We asked to ensure they would be there. I didn't get a confirmation text until 11pm then Tuesday rolls around a I get an email from my colleague saying they never showed up. No call no nothing. We just went with another company who came out within the hour and finished as guess who was pulling up JAJ it was 8:30am. I told the tech you all were scheduled at set time and it's 8:30-8:45am. What was the issue? He was quiet, I asked again where was the miscommunication because regardless you still showed up 1-2hrs late. We said we didn't need their services. I will never use them again.
