Fancy getting a little comfort with proper care.

I can't say enough about these people. They were all kind, and highly aware of our shock and fear for our puppy. They kept apologizing for the wait. Please stop apologizing, I will wait for a confident Dr. to care for my puppy. This was one of the worst nights of our lives. You not only did what you could for our puppy's arm but you cared for us too. I want to give a special shout out to "Carrie". She even took a moment to help us order the right head cone and other stuff. The poor woman never stopped the whole time we were there but, took a moment to answer all our questions and look what I was questioning.

I hate that I have to write this review as we really didn't want to be here. Our sweet senior cat, Kona, had kidney failure a couple months ago and required a visit to the ER as our regular vet was closed. The staff were all wonderful and up front about pricing from the beginning. After dropping her off, the staff assured us we could call at any time for updates and encouraged us to come visit her. We stopped by after getting off work and were able to spend a lot of time with her and were visited by both nursing and physician staff to answer questions and explain her plan of care. The following day, we received a dreaded phone call early in the morning that she was no longer doing very well. When we arrived, the doctor explained everything and gave us our options. Due to the seriousness of her condition and unlikely odds of her recovering, we made the difficult decision to proceed with euthanasia. The staff provided us with a private room, allowed us ample time to say goodbye, and really helped us to feel at peace. They also handled her remains and had her cremated for us. When we picked her up, we were so impressed by the love and care that went into making her urn beautiful and providing us with keepsakes, like fur and paw prints. The staff were incredibly kind and empathetic, even forgiving a portion of the bill as it ended up being more expensive than we previously thought. Though I hope to never need to come back to VEG, I wouldn't hesitate to bring any of my pets here based on how Kona was treated. Thank you for all you did for us, VEG.

Sadly, after giving my sugar glider the dose from one of the medications they gave me, less than 5-10 minutes later she took her last breath. I notified the office and they gave me their best excuse of why she passed & it was that she was under "stress." I took a look at the dosing they gave me along with what the paperwork said. She should have gotten .01ml of the medication and the tubes had significantly more than .01. It was an overdose. My glider was eating, drinking, and alert when I took her into the office with a broken arm. That next morning after all the medication they gave her... she was shaking, cold, not moving and groggy (due to the medication). I know sugar gliders, I have had them for over 10 years and taken care of different rescue gliders who have had various surgeries over the years and never saw one go down that quick after pain medication. It was mostly an insult hearing them say it was stress. Please learn about the animals before taking them in. If you don't feel comfortable with an exotic animal please pass the opportunity. Staff- y'all are good people. To the vet, I won't mention your name- Sugar gliders are resilient animals and it wasn't "stress" in this case. I've taken in gliders who self mutilated or even had extreme anxiety. This wasn't that. She was a baby glider and she had a chance to live even with the broken arm before she was overdosed. I don't care about the money spent for y'all to essentially over dose her. Just please don't take any other future gliders lives. Let them go to a real emergency vet who is familiar with exotics and sugar gliders. I knew better than to take my sugar glider to a non-recommended vet office... However, the vet office also had an ethical obligation to also say they cannot take in animals that they are not familiar or comfortable with. No it was not stress, but when it comes to what goes in their body and it's too much, then yes they are sensitive to that. RIP little glider.

On Saturday going into Sunday (02/22-02-23) I brought my cat Milo in to be seen because he was looking very skinny and not acting himself at all, they ran tests and told us that it was his liver or something failing (I've since blocked it out of my head) and told us we had two options 1. Have him stay in the hospital for months and months and possibly have to get a feeding tube and everything or 2. Euthanize him. I made the hardest but best decision for him to be put down. I cannot thank the staff anymore about how insanely kind they were, I was allowed ample time to say goodbye and they dealt with him with such care. I only ended up paying $125 for the euthanasia after talking to them. I HIGHLY recommend them, they truly care about the animals and even the people!

In and out within 2 hours. Staff was very informative, and explained everything. Brought my dog in with due to a laceration on her paw. They cleaned it out, wrapped it up and helped us with recovery instructions.

I'm late on my review by 2 years, but haven't forgotten about my experience here. What an amazing group of people. I brought my cocker spaniel in back in 2022. He left very happy and healed quickly.

They set up a cot in our suite. She got to lie next to me just like at home while she got her IV. Priceless.

We took our 13 year old chihuahua here after visiting our vet and being told she had a serious case of pancreatitis. They told us due to her blood work reflecting liver issues as well, we may want to go to VEG where we could get immediate IV fluids and X-rays/sonogram if we opted for those. We have a wellness plan at our vet and never miss an exam, dental cleaning etc. We were devastated that our baby had some serious issues going on. Everyone at VEG was amazing. They thoroughly explained all of the options and we were able to stay with our dog in a suite all night where we could hold her as she got her IV and be with her during every test. They put us at ease, and our dog was not as stressed being able to have us with her. They were very thorough, caring, and went the extra mile to make us and our baby comfortable. They gave us an estimate on the cost and it ended up being quite a bit less. Yes, hospitalization isn't cheap, but if you opt for it, I highly recommend this ER. Worth every penny.

Yes. Very attentive. The price is a bit high but they were so sweet to my boy and got us in, fixed up and out quick. The place is clean and very well kept up with!

The first time I came I brought my older big dog, and Dr. B(rashear) spent extra time with me answering all my questions about my dog and even my other cats. Dr. Arendt is the sweetest, he took care of my kitties and made me feel better about my little rescue's heart murmur. And then there's Dr. O'Gorman. Dr. O'Gorman is like the frontline medic of the vetinary world. The Owen Hunt of small mammals. My oldest kitty had a reaction to her rabies vaccine last year, and I had to bring her for a last-minute visit to see Dr. O'Gorman, who was the only one free. He is efficient and no-nonsense, gave her a steroid shot and meds, and didn't charge us a thing. My dog had to have two large teeth extracted and as I was leaving, the vet tech said, "Dr. O'Gorman will be performing the procedure." Hell yeah. You can't go wrong with this place - even the front desk staff and techs are delightful, and they will spend as long as you need reviewing quotes, meds, and any questions you have. I called five times after I left him - verifying the steps and ensuring what I needed would be done. I spoke for 28 minutes with the receptionist, and sent multiple emails with explicit directions for a cheek swab and then a tissue sample when the cheek swab wasn't possible. I even called immediately after sending an email subjected "Tissue Sample" to review the instructions with her. She confirmed she understood and that the doctor knew what to do. When I arrived with dry ice and shipping materials, I was told the vet NEVER collected the sample before cremation-- only hair and nails. The hair had no root (so it's useless for DNA). I am deeply concerned with Dr. Nichols medical knowledge if he believes top coat fur can be submitted for DNA testing needs... This wasn't a minor miscommunication. It was a complete failure to follow clear, documented instructions from a pet owner. Because of this, I permanently lost the chance to preserve his genetic material and learn his true breed mix. On top of that, I had requested the clay paw prints every cremation facility provides. Bonds Ranch never submitted that request. Instead, they made their own(!) with paint on paper. It looks like a child's art project! I have the email thread with the crematorium confirming the clay prints were NEVER REQUESTED from Bonds Ranch. Yet again -- another piece of him I've lost forever due to their lack of attention and utter negligence. If this is the attention they pay in imperative moments that can never be recovered, please be aware of how they handle everything.
