    Oreo in oxygen chamber
    Karla G.

Our family cannot thank the team at VEG ER in Rancho Cucamonga enough for the exceptional care they gave our beloved cocker spaniel, Oreo. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were treated with kindness, compassion, and grace during one of the most heartbreaking experiences of our lives. Every member of the team made us feel supported and never left us wondering what was happening. They kept us informed every step of the way and explained everything with patience and empathy. One thing that truly stood out was that they performed an ultrasound right in front of us, taking the time to show us exactly what they were seeing and carefully explaining what was causing Oreo's illness. They also examined his fluid samples with us so we could better understand how serious his condition was. Although the news was devastating, their honesty and willingness to help us understand gave us the clarity we needed to make difficult decisions. A very special thank you to Ashley, Dr. Popa, and Dr. Rivera. Your knowledge, professionalism, and genuine compassion meant more to our family than words can express. You treated Oreo with such tenderness and treated us with the same level of care and respect. We will never forget the grace, dignity, and kindness you showed us during one of the hardest days of our lives. Thank you for helping us care for Oreo with love, honesty, and compassion. We will always be grateful.

Came here last night when we saw our cats eye was swollen and she was wheezing pretty bad. We called and let them know we were on our way and they sent us a check in link we got checked in and when we got there they took us back to a room so our cat could be less stressed and roam around the room. The staff and the veterinarian were absolutely phenomenal the whole team was extremely kind helpful and constantly checked on us while we were waiting we were brought snacks and we got a sparkling water while we waited and they were extremely gentle and patient with our fur baby! If I could give this place more stars I absolutely would!!!

Raced down from the high desert with our rattlesnake-bitten Belgian Malanois, to VEG in Rancho Cucamonga, at 6am. Lifesavers! The entire staff--without exception--went above and beyond to help us, our injured dog, and her worried Belgian Malanois sister. From initial phone calls while driving to their center at 6am when no other animal hospital was open, to intake, to administration, to medical care, and everyone's empathy... this is what animal care should look like everywhere. Truly grateful.

They were able to see Max as soon as we walked into the door. Inside and out is so clean. Staff were amazing and were so compassionate, gentle, and caring. Dr. Sarah Tijon was amazing and so were all the nurses tonight.

Great location, so glad to have an ER that we can trust in Rancho. We've been to the other ER off foothill and the 15 and have a terrible experience. My 4 week old rat was experiencing breathing issues and as soon as I got there a vet quickly looked her over and placed her in the oxygen chamber. Later on another vet did a full exam and treatment for her. I'm very grateful for VEG and their open concept

My 13 year old yorkiepoo Tuffy had sudden shortness of breath in the evening so I decided to find the closest ER and VEG showed up on my search. I called ahead to let them know we were on our way and they sent me a link to fill out paperwork ahead of time to prepare for our arrival. The second I entered the door they took my sweet dog right away and began working on him, getting vitals, putting him on oxygen, getting an IV in him. They did an xray and we found out that he had a completely collapsed trachea. I really did appreciate the staff and Dr. Migdal. They were professional, kind, caring and explained every step and plan that they were going to do to help Tuffy. While they had Tuffy in the oxygen box, they allowed me to stay with him and even offered me something to drink and eat as well as a blanket. I was there with him until 3am. The outlook wasn't looking good for my little man, so I decided to take him home on meds to keep him comfortable. He eventually crossed the rainbow bridge a couple days later. I really appreciate the staff at VEG for their kindness and fantastic care they gave Tuffy. I'll never forget their kindness during such a hard time.

Quote for insane unnecessary charges from VEG ER

Price gouging pet parents when they are most scared and vulnerable is evil. I brought my sweet girl in when her tummy was extremely swollen and she wasn't able to walk. The vet tech who triaged us wouldn't even make eye contact with me, seemingly having more important things to do than listen to me. He had diagnosed her without even listening to my answers. The vet spoke so fast I had to ask her to repeat herself and still didn't understand what she was saying. Bottom line was she needed emergency surgery. They said we'll get together a treatment plan and go over it with you. A few minutes later I get a text with a plan that's $8000 on the low end and $10,000 on the high end. No one comes to explain it to me for at least 20 mins. When they do, again, zero eye contact and speaking so fast I'm lost. I'm devastated thinking I'm going to have to say goodbye to my best friend because there's no way I can afford this or even to finance it. Thank God I had the wherewithal to leave & take her to my local vet during urgent care hours and get a second opinion. They did the surgery for $3000 and were so amazing. Looking at the quote I was given from VEG ER vs what I was charged for at my local vet, you can see the insane price gouging. $445 for operating room setup? Was their operating room not already setup for operating? Did they have to erect an operating room? $347 for post op monitoring, $590 for 24 hr CRI (?) and another $802 for hospitalization. What's the hospitalization covering if I'm paying all the other money for monitoring? $200 emergency exam, additional $236 for inpatient exam...I could go on. How do you sleep at night knowing you're robbing people blind in their most vulnerable moments with their pets? Check TrustPilot for tongs more reviews like mine. Stay away from corporate vets and support your local vet whenever possible. There are several great emergency vet clinics in the area. Don't fall for the flash.

Maxwell our cat being treated by the very professional staff at VEG.

I can't say enough about this vet. Our cat ingested a 43 inch long piece of twine and the vet and staff expertly had it removed via endoscope. This could have killed our cat if we hadn't caught this in time,l. VEG is new, clean, modern and the staff is kind and very professional using the most advanced veterinary science technology available. Thank you VEG!

My 13 year senior, 1st time ever sick, am freaking out. @ ER late midnight. X-rays, she'll be fine, home with some medicine.

They are all the kindest most caring people I've ever met. My little baby got so much love and attention. I felt the love and support of all the people there. Even though it was very late at night they didn't play around

We went in with our 11 year old dog. Everyone was so nice and attentive. I appreciate everything they did for my big boy. They made sure we were all comfortable and even provided him a bed and blankets. The explanations from the doctor and the staff were very thorough and they answered all our questions. I would definitely recommend this place.

Waiting room with snack tray to the right

The most loving, sweet, knowledgeable, and caring staff! Each and every person made my pup, my son, and myself feel welcomed and comforted. They really eased my nerves. Not to mention the place is clean and is an open concept which I love. They also have snacks, juice, coffee, and tea in the waiting areas. It's quite a warm and inviting environment. There are comfy couches to sit on and outside they have a little gated grass area with a station for pet waste to be disposed of. I trust them with my dogs and am so grateful for this staff and establishment. The doctor was fantastic with communicating each step taken for my pup. She even brought me back to review the X-rays with her.

I honestly cannot say enough about Dr. Wendy Wehmeyer…read more My French Bulldog, Maxwell, has struggled with recurrent yeast infections and related issues for FOUR YEARS. And when I say four years, I mean FOUR. YEARS. of vet visits, medications, ear infections, skin issues, itching, discomfort, temporary improvement...and then BOOM--we're right back at it again. At this point, Maxwell's yeast has basically been a member of the family. An unwanted, expensive, miserable member of the family that absolutely refuses to move out. And unfortunately, this hasn't just been a minor nuisance. These recurring infections have caused my poor boy some serious problems--including an ear infection that became so severe that his eardrum actually BURST. That was awful. He was miserable, I was terrified, and yet somehow we were still treating these problems as individual episodes instead of figuring out why they kept happening in the first place. We would treat one problem, get it under control, breathe a sigh of relief...and eventually something else would flare up. Nobody ever seemed to step back and ask the question I desperately needed answered: WHY does this keep happening?! Enter Dr. Wehmeyer. She was the first veterinarian who really looked at Maxwell's history, connected the dots, and recognized that we needed to stop playing Whack-a-Mole with his symptoms and actually address the bigger problem. THANK. YOU. She took the time to evaluate what has been happening with him, recognize the pattern, and come up with an actual treatment plan for these recurrent yeast infections. She prescribed medications specifically aimed at getting this under control instead of handing us another temporary Band-Aid and sending us on our way. And listen... after four years of watching this poor little bulldog itch, scratch, chew, get ear infections, develop skin problems, suffer through a burst eardrum, and generally be terrorized by his own body, hearing someone finally say, essentially, "I see what's happening here, and we're going to treat it" nearly made this Frenchie mama cry. Maxwell can't tell anyone how miserable he's been. Unfortunately for everyone involved, HIS MAMA CAN. And I have spent four years asking questions, researching, worrying, paying vet bills, treating infections, cleaning ears, giving medications, and wondering why we could never get ahead of this. For the first time, I feel like someone finally GETS IT. Dr. Wehmeyer was knowledgeable, thorough, compassionate, and--this is HUGE for me--she listened. She didn't just look at the problem Maxwell had that day. She looked at MAXWELL. There is a massive difference between treating a sick dog and trying to figure out why that dog keeps getting sick. For the first time in four years, I don't feel like we're treating yet another infection. I feel like we're finally working toward getting my boy HEALTHY and breaking this ridiculous cycle. Dr. Wehmeyer, if you ever happen to read this: THANK YOU for listening to an exhausted, worried, slightly crazy Frenchie mama and, more importantly, for taking the time to figure out what Maxwell needed. You have one extremely grateful dog mama--and one little bulldog whose ears, skin, paws, tail, and apparently every other yeast-friendly crevice on his body are officially being served an eviction notice. If you have a pet dealing with chronic or recurring problems and you feel like you're constantly treating the same symptoms without ever getting an answer as to WHY they keep happening, go see Dr. Wendy Wehmeyer. I wish we'd found her four years ago.

Your beautiful words about God and miracles brought us comfort during an incredibly difficult and scary time. I will always remember your kindness and the hope you gave us when we needed it most. I also really appreciated the honesty from the hospital regarding treatment and charges. For example when the oxygen tank was not used for all of the hours originally anticipated they were honest about it instead of charging us for something Autumn did not receive. That meant a lot to us. Unfortunately our beautiful Autumn continued to decline and we ultimately had to say goodbye to her. It was absolutely heartbreaking but I will always be grateful for everyone who fought alongside us to try to save her. My only concern was the hospital's payment policy regarding 24 hour care. Autumn was only hospitalized for approximately 6 hours and I don't personally feel it is fair to require payment based on a full 24 hours when an animal does not remain hospitalized for that entire period. I hope ownership considers reviewing that policy because everything else about the care we received was compassionate and professional. Thank you to both doctors and every member of the day and night teams who cared for Autumn. We didn't get vitals until an hour later and then once we're in a room an hour after that to talk to a dr we waited for another 2 hours and then the dr tells us they'll go ahead and do the ultrasound and said it will be done anytime before 6pm because we were a "walk in" THIS WAS AN EMERGENCY SITUATION and my dog was actively dying!! Mind you we got there at 10 and the whole time his gallbladder was ruptured and leaking and there was no sense of urgency at all. Not to mention the doctors attitude was so cold and casual I believe her name was Zamora. Once the ultrasound was done around 3/4 pm we waited and waited and waited still for them to talk to us about the results probably over another hour or two we were waiting all for Zamora to come in very causally once again and say his gallbladder is the cause of all this and it has mucocele which is causing inflammation and he needs surgery. She just came in, opened her laptop and told us the findings. She didn't even SHOW us the ultrasounds or go in depth like every other place I've been to. You would think for $1,900 they would do that but no all they care about is the money and it shows. After she told us the news I say when are you doing the surgery and she responds "right now I'm holding the surgeon here" and then quotes us 17k minimum and 20k maximum for this surgery and hospitalization. So we're over here panicking and stressing because he's actively dying and they're trying to rob us and on top of that giving him a 50/50 chance of survival. Me and my mom were in panic trying to find another way another place to just save my dog since this is just not realistic for an average person but they seem to think otherwise. Anyway we asked if we could have a moment to discuss and make phone calls and throughout this whole time suddenly they were readily available and not busy and kept coming in to the room asking if we've made a decision yet and then at one point come in to say "so you're not doing surgery then? So I can send the surgeon away" how could they say that when all they had done all day was making us wait and suddenly it's urgent only when it comes to getting money!! And every time I asked a question regarding his rupture and gallbladder the lady kept saying "let me ask" "let me check" because the doctor that was just there had already disappeared!! We ended up making a phone call to an amazing vet hospital in Tijuana called "hospital de Mascotas SAJI" we called them and they said to bring him in as soon as we could so we got our baby back from this place and declined the surgery which they did not look too happy about. On the way to TJ, the vets over there were asking for all his lab work in order to be prepared for his surgery and when I called marqueen for his records and ultrasound results to be emailed to me they took over an hour and I had to call 3 times! said the doctor needs to sign off even though we were just there and we're entitled to our records. We made our way to Tijuana Mexico where they did a quick ultrasound that took minutes as soon as we got there and then proceeded with surgery. Unfortunately our baby didn't make it I only wish I would have come to this place in Mexico sooner. If only MarQueen treated this as an emergency as it was after all it's in their name and did tests sooner perhaps we could have gotten him to his surgery sooner and he would have had more of a chance since he was too far gone by the time the whole day of waiting around has passed. To everyone reading this I suggest you find a vet in Mexico or go to this one for a pet emergency or even any need. They care so much more about your pet for not even a fraction of the cost and on top of that they were COMPASSIONATE. I was also quoted $1,800 in Mexico for the same surgery, medication and hospitalization if my baby had pulled through.

My Frenchie was having her first litter, and things became very chaotic very quickly. On the way to the hospital, she had her first puppy right there in the front seat of my truck! When we arrived, I called to let them know what was happening, and they were kind enough to come outside and help bring her and her newborn puppy inside. From that moment on, I felt like she was in good hands. The staff was incredibly welcoming, gentle, and compassionate. They knew how to keep me calm without overwhelming me with how serious her C-section was. I was scared and had so many questions, but someone was always there to explain the process and talk me through what was happening. There was honestly no wait time, they took her in right away. I also really appreciated how comfortable they made me feel discussing the cost of everything. I never felt pressured or like I was being pushed to make a decision based on money. Everything was explained clearly, and I felt respected throughout the entire experience. My Frenchie is now home recovering, and I'm so grateful to everyone who took care of her and her puppies. Thank you for being so kind, patient, and compassionate during what was an incredibly scary night for me. I truly appreciate everything Dr. Roy & team did for my girl.

When we finally were called in to an exam room, we sat for another 20-30 minutes waiting...then the Vet came in and asked us what our concerns were about our pet.. Keep in mind, THEY HAD OUR PET IN THE BACK after we completed paperwork about the concerns 6 hours prior. At that time, the Vet then started insinuating that the pet 'could have' pancreatitis and a few other strange diseases which we inherently knew was not the case. The issue we Pruitt the pet in for was very specific and basic. Needless to say, we quite literally grabbed our pet and left. I'd recommend staying clear of this place.

Dear Inland Valley Veterinary Specialist Team,…read more I am writing this to express my deepest gratitude for the incredible kindness I received during one of the hardest moments of my life. When I called after losing my sweet dog, Chapo, I spoke with Thomas at the front desk. I was completely heartbroken and in tears, but Thomas listened to me with such deep empathy and walked me through my options with immense care. Having someone treat my grief with that level of compassion meant the world to me. Please pass along my special thanks to Thomas and the rest of the team. You have an amazing staff, and I will always recommend your clinic for the love and care you show. With gratitude, Mona

They discussed what could possibly be wrong with my dog and gave me some options. After that, I waited about an hour and a half because I was told the doctor would be back to see me soon. Instead, after waiting all that time, they came back with a bill for treatment that was never clearly discussed with me beforehand. I was extremely disappointed that I was still charged for it. What bothers me the most is that I brought my elderly dog here because I was genuinely worried about him. I was told that he was stable and doing well for a dog his age, which gave me hope that he was going to be okay. I took him to his regular vet shortly afterward, and they immediately recognized how serious his condition was and told me he was in the final stages of his life and likely only had a few days left. I understand that different veterinarians can have different opinions, but there is a huge difference between being told your dog is stable and doing well for his age versus being told he is actively declining and nearing the end of his life. I wish the severity of his condition had been recognized when I brought him here. Between the long wait, unexpected charges, and the completely different assessment of my dog's condition, I would not come back here or recommend this place.

We had to put our beLOVEd cat to sleep yesterday. Since it was an emergency hospital, we couldn't just show up at the appointment time but wait about 90 minutes, which was hard but I understand other pets had emergency situations. The all female staff (?) were kind, calm, and wonderful. This team must enjoy working together. The process was polished and caring, and Dr. Crossin made us feel like she's known us and our little boy for years. I miss him so much already and I'm happy this place was here for us. ************************ I'm surprised at how low the Yelp rating is here. My best guess is that when people love an animal and have to spend big bucks on emergency surgeries and such, the frustration bleeds thru to reviews. In life or death scenarios, our emotions run high and sometimes expect too much from people who can only do so much? Nothing about our experience here indicated haphazard or inconsiderate care, for what that's worth.

On the early morning of May 7th, I brought my dog in for labored breathing. After X-rays, the vet determined he had an asthma attack caused by allergies and that his lungs were inflamed. They administered an injection to calm his breathing and sent us home with steroids. However, by 4:00 AM on May 8th, his breathing was still strained, so we returned. He received another injection and a prescription for Albuterol. Unfortunately, the pharmacy process became a nightmare. A local CVS could not fill the script due to technical errors in the way it was written. I then placed an order through Chewy.com on the morning of May 8th. By May 10th, Chewy confirmed they were still waiting for the clinic's approval. When I called the clinic to follow up, I had the misfortune of speaking with Naomi. I explained that my dog had been struggling to breathe for two days and asked why the approval was being delayed. She was incredibly rude and insensitive. When I expressed my desperation to get my dog his medication, she told me that if he couldn't breathe, I should simply "take him to a different clinic." When I told her I was going to bring him back to AEC, she said they were no longer accepting patients today. When I asked to speak to someone else besides her, she placed me on hold for 25 minutes. When I tried to call back three times from my own phone, the calls were sent immediately to hold. Suspecting I was being screened, I called from a friend's phone, Naomi answered immediately. When I asked why I was being sent straight to hold, she stated she would leave me there until she had "new information." I was so shocked with her condescending tone. I even asked if she was hearing the way she was speaking to me, she replied, "Yes, I am," and put me back on hold. After being left back on hold for several minutes, I hung up and called back. Bella answered the phone. She was the complete opposite of Naomi. Bella went out of her way to help me. I told her I no longer wanted to wait for the approval for Chewy to fill the order and was going to see if I could fill the prescription at Walmart. Bella called around to different Walmart locations to confirm they had the Albuterol in stock. Thanks to Bella, I finally have the medication. While I appreciate the medical diagnosis and Bella's help, Naomi's lack of compassion was unacceptable. No pet owner in distress should be treated with such hostility, especially when the delay involves watching their beloved pet suffering. If you bring your pet here, please be cautious of Naomi's involvement in your care. I have seen other reviews talk about an emergency vet in Redlands. I was not aware there was one. I can't imagine returning to this clinic now after the treatment I received from Naomi.

A lady came out not to greet us but told us that they close at 11PM due to new management and this is place is sold to another company. The doctor was seeing the last patient of the day and was referring us to another clinic in Glendora. We told her to please ask the doctor to take a look at our cat. We are willing to pay double the visiting fee. She went in for about 5 minutes and then another gentleman came out and told us the same thing. The clinic was sold and we close at 11PM now, etc. I took out my phone and showed him that it's 10:27PM. He said they wouldn't have enough time to do procedures to our cat. I told him our cat is old and he can't handle that much pressure anymore going to Glendora.. Long story short, this place has last call like some high end restaurant and I'm guessing everyone wants to get off work right at 11PM. Good luck with the "new management last call clinic". Getting off work is their first priority and not saving pets lives!

I wouldn't even consider this place a vet, more like a money making sceme and they know it. They just straight take advantage of people and their pet emergencies. Also, they take the upmost advantage knowing that they are the only business in the area that is open 24hrs. The prices are through the roof and won't even start any sort of treatment or care without payment. I even had insurance that covers accidents for my fur baby and they refused to acknowledge it. I have two dead cats because of these "vets" and they could care less. My first cat I brought in because he was acting funny, it was late about 2am. they said it was Parvo. I said I wanted to get a second opinion and that i need to go to protect my cats at home, just give me my cat back. well they sat me in a room , for over an hour, then vet came in and told me i she wont treat without payment and the parvo shpiel. I said just give me my cat back, waited another hour. then they brought him out to me with a bunch of shavings and IV wounds and while the nurse was handing him to me she handed me a bill. i didnt even look at it but said Im not going to pay for this, i didnt consent or sign anything. il send it to insurance in the morning and they threatened to call animal control on me for neglect and abuse.Well My cat later died that night from the does of poison they gave my cat for the euthenasia they charged me for come to find out. Last night a baby kitten got attacked by three german shepards so I rushed her over to their clinic. I relinquished her as a stray and they said have a nice day. I asked the lady up front how do they handle strays or unknown owner status pets? She told me they get a grant to run tests and treat the pet in emergancey situations then let animal control take over. Well I show up at the animal shelter and the cop told me the clinic sent zero paperwork and no tests were done on the poor baby and that if the owner claims the cat that the owner will pay for the vet bill.Im like what vet bills?! they didnt even do anything for the cat, she could be internally bleeding?! so everyone sucks and they are all just about the money. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR ANIMAL AND WILL OVER CHARGE AND UNDER SERVICE YOUR PET. THEY CALL THEMSELVES EMERGENCY BUT THEY DO THE BARE MINIMUM FOR THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.
