The arcade machines are in excellent condition and are fair unlike some you can encounter. It is colourful and loud, just as children like it. The road has parking space as well which makes thing seven better. For those wanting to visit Golden Sands, it has its very own car park. For little kids, they can race in karts outside. Golden Sands also has a cash machine and an over 18's slot section. Collect tickets and win prizes hanging on the ceiling. I went for a Super Mario toy. Worth a visit if you are in New Hunstanton.

The other half of the hall is devoted to more children-friendly amusements - games of skill - like throwing balls into baskets, through holes etc. My kids love the place and constantly pester me to take them for a visit. The chidren's machines 'pay out' in strips of tokens - the better you play the games the more tokens you get - these tokens can then be exchanged for prizes at the central money-exchange booth - though beware you do need quite a few tokens before you can 'win' anything half-decent. But it's not an expensive place - a few pounds go a long way and it's a godsend when the weather is bad. Recommended.

Although not sure whether that would be an improvement. That said, my daughter absolutely loves the place. There are plenty of rides for all ages and although the place has a shabby charm to it you can spend several hours of family fun there. Prices are about the level you would expect although they have an antiquated ticket system which harks back to the 70's. In conclusion this is about as good as it gets in Kettering. Anything better and the locals would just ruin it!

The park includes plenty of different restaurants and cafes to suit all tastes from Porkys Pantry where you can grab yourself a bacon roll or a hot dog to The Railway Tearooms where you can enjoy afternoon tea with scones! There is an entrance fee to the park but you can leave the park and re enter at any time of the day as long as you get your hand stamped as you are leaving. Children under 1 metre tall can enter the park for free. Children between 1 metre and 1.4metres is £11.75. Children over 1.4metres and Adults is £14.00. Senior Citizens £9.50 Though you can also purchase a family ticket for 4 people for £47.00. Although you can book online and save more money if you purchase your tickets beforehand. There are bargains to be had if you are not looking for designer labels and yet you can often get overmakes of them. If you like shopping and markets you could easily spent 2/3 hours here and come out with branded cosmetics and tioletries..fake label sunglasses, household stuff, clothes etc.

The only problem is the HUGE crowds, to avoid this its best to go earlyish in the morning. Plenty to eat and drink when you walk round, as well as plenty of toilets. Entry cost us an eye watering £64, which admittedly we could have saved £4 on if we'd booked in advance. Lunch was around £20, and drinks though the day another £10 (4x coffee). Facepainting and other activities were thankfully free. Food isn't cheap, especially given the entry price, lunch is about £5pp and hot drinks are around £2.50 each. I had hoped that for my £100 I would get something worthwhile in return. Sadly that was not the case, I'd essentially paid for access to a woodland playground for the children, with a few side shows. What annoys me the most is that an adult pays £16.50 for nothing. There's zero value for money for an adult; you're simply there to look after your children and keep them safe. A member of staff did say "you could go on the zip line" when I asked what there was to justify the adult entry fee. I get that it costs money to run these places, and that the plethora of staff need to be paid, and that the masses of equipment need to be bought. But, if your business model relies on an "if-you-build-it-they-will-come-and-pay-for-it" form of modern highway-highway robbery, all disguised as "children's entertainment", you're looking at a limited set of patrons. Showing value for money at that sort of ticket price is essential. I should note however that the staff were very friendly and very enthusiastic. We were thankful for that at least, as they helped the children enjoy their day. I can't fault the staff at all, they were excellent. Perhaps you'll have an amazing time if you go, your kids will certainly enjoy it, especially if the sun is shining. But, for two parents to pay £33 to stand in a wood for the day you'd have to really want to be there. By contrast, you could goto Holkham Hall and pay £3 for parking, and the kids have an equally good time in a woodland playground, complete with zip line. One other thing: this isn't an "all weather" site. If it looks like rain, stay away. A lot of the equipment gets quite slippery in the wet, and there is a severe lack of cover from the elements. Everything is out in the rain, so wrap up warm and take a brolly. Incidentally there are no indoor heated areas, so if the kids get cold your day is over. Unless you can persuade them to stand under a hand dryer in the loos. Like I said, £100 to stand in a wood.

However the grand children enjoyed themselves, you just need to keep your eye on young children all the time as they can soon get lost and there is plenty of water about. You need a fine day or at least no rain and you can spend all day in there with plenty to do. You can take a picnic or use the cafes.
