Excellent fresh food! We had their fried green tomatoes (they raise them for HEB) and a pizza - the pizza dough was so good and all the veggies were fresh. I guess if you want real farm to table, this is it - you ain't getting it in Houston like this. Make the trip!

What a hidden gem! We dropped by this charming general store while looking at properties in the area, and even though they weren't officially open to the public, the owner graciously welcomed us in. She was incredibly kind, shared a bit about the community, and even treated us to the most decadent chocolate cake. We couldn't leave without picking up some delicious local honey, too. Such a warm, genuine experience, we'll absolutely be back to try more of her menu items! read more

Today was the grand opening of the General Store at VegOut! Farms. They are still working on the interior finishes, but the produce is stocked and ready. They plan to build out the back half of the store to be a bar and grill. I love being able to drive up the road to get fresh, locally grown produce. Before opening this store, they sold produce from a stand at Nelson Water Gardens in Katy. I love their greens! They are very rich flavored and they stay fresh way longer than store bought spring mix. According to Brenda, the owner, they are going to be opening the greenhouses for tours, and they'll have pick your own strawberries here soon. The entire set up with Hydroponics is so neat! Brenda is the Horticulture Department Head at HCC, and created the designs for her green house hydroponics system set up while studying at Prairie View A&M. It's a must-see! VegOut is a fun farm to visit with family/friends with options to do tours, have some farm-style pizza/refreshments, shop for farm-grown and local produce. Owners are very friendly and knowledgeable. We spent a few hours there and came home with some delicious strawberries, eggs, and lettuce. read more

Their food is very good but their service is very slow. It wasn't busy at the time. They had bags of trash on patio where food was served.

We started with a blank piece of land and a goal. We wanted to feed people healthy, local, pesticide free produce and make it affordable and accessible. The Hemi Hideout is one man's giant man cave! The owner had a successful business and a love for…read morethe classic muscle cars so he began collecting and when he retired he built this giant building to showcase his cars. Car collecting also led to collecting neon signs, old gas pumps and just about anything nostalgic relating to antique cars. There is even a dinner that looks like something from American Graffiti! They are located in Brookshire, Texas just north of I-10. You have to make a reservation to go and when we went there is a $10 entry fee but the owner donates all the entry fees collected to local charities in the area. Plan on spending a few hours there, take your time and walk around, lots to look at and signs explaining the history of most of the items.

The only thing I don't love is that you have to make a reservation for the play session you want and it's not that long. I can understand that it's probably for the purpose of cleaning in between sessions and regulating the amount of people coming in but I think for the price it should be longer play times. I also wish there was a membership option. But other than that we still love it here.

Unfortunately, the overall condition of the theater leaves much to be desired. The seats are noticeably worn and in need of replacement. Cleanliness is also a recurring issue. After shows, the hallways often have trash scattered around, and during my most recent visit, there was leftover popcorn and trash on my seat when I arrived. The sound system is also below average compared to other theaters. Overall, the theater feels neglected and, at times, somewhat filthy, which takes away from what should be a relaxing and enjoyable movie-going experience. What makes this more disappointing is that ticket prices and concession prices are comparable to better-maintained theaters in the area, yet the quality of the experience is noticeably lower. We continue to visit primarily because of the convenience, but the theater would greatly benefit from improvements in cleanliness, seating, and overall upkeep.
