We attended Briscoe Manor's open house in January 2026, which was a showcase of vendors that are familiar with the venue and samples from their in-house catering. It was a fantastic open house. Their in-house catering had short rib wellington bites being walked around, and the buffet sampler spread included a meat and cheese charcuterie board, hummus dip, French onion dip with bread, roasted vegetables, elotes, shrimp cocktails, and deviled eggs. A few hot plates available were the butternut squash rigatoni, crab asparagus, pork belly, and meat loaf. I would say my favorites were the crab asparagus and the short rib Wellington bites. The venue itself is quite beautiful. The dance floor is a bit small and is raised, so some care should be taken for mixing too much alcohol into that. A string quartet with pop music was playing and the acoustics were very nice in the main reception hall. The team seemed very friendly and the church was steps away from the reception hall (walk outside briefly, but it's entirely covered in case of rain).

They have gps touch screens on their golf carts so no need to drain your cell phone or Apple Watch. The screens can be connected to your cell through Bluetooth so you can play your own music through the onboard speakers. Just an awesome touch of service! The course was perfect for my level of play "not quite pro" (read: amateur.) Many of the other players were much more seasoned in this sport and they enjoyed the course too. We also can't thank our coordinator Stephani enough for such a seamless and beautiful wedding. We both have been beaming and on cloud 9 since then. So many people in our bridal party kept commenting how "awesome your coordinator is! WOW She's on top of it!" And I attribute that to why I was able to enjoy the night as thoroughly as I was. Stephani truly is A+++ at her job. She made us both feel so taken care of and brought items (vases/signs) from her own personal arsenal to enhance our special day. For our first annual Mother's Day Honor Lunch, we decided to go to Brookwood. I am thrilled with our experience! They had an abbreviated menu that weekend. We both had the Mesibov salad to start. I was wonderful and from what i understand, Brookwood is known for this salad. For our meal, I had the eggplant, and my friend had the pork chop. We also had a choice of delicious desserts. I chose the cheesecake. The serve was wonderful, the food was tasty, the atmosphere was perfect with a piano player, and the dining area was clean. I noticed a faint smell of cafeteria type scent, but it dissipated in a few minutes. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The "Community" is such a wonderful space for people in need. Brookwood was a wonderful experience with the lunch and then we got to shop in the store and the garden. I went back to the register 4 times, and mind you, I am not a shopper by nature. Clothing, shoes, bags, home decor, candles, gourmet snacks, Brookwood Community handmade items, a whole western hat and boot section, and so much more! They even have a local artist gallery with high end artwork and sculptures. One of a king beautiful piece! I like that the items were rare-ish finds. These are not items you will find at regular stores. They are more boutique type items. We also shopped in the beautiful garden. I purchased a lovely Bougainvillea for only $25.00. A regular store near me would have sold the same plant for at least $35.00. The ladies in the store are super helpful. I am glad they aren't close to my home because living nearby could be dangerous on my wallet. Even though prices are good, I wanted to buy everything in the store!

For the amount of…read moremoney we paid to hold our event in the private room, you'd think we would not needed to 1) ask several times to lower the music, 2) as to fill up and refill the coffee carafe, 3) asked for ice for water, 4) asked for salad plates to be placed near the salad 5) asked twice to setup microphone and speakers 6) asked several times to refill hot dishes on the buffet table. We ran out of food twice while women were standing in line waiting. At one point it took them 10 minutes to refill and those standing, chose not to wait any longer. You'd think staff would be monitoring a buffet intended to serve 40 women. Rather, we had absolutely no one monitoring to ensure things were all set with food and drinks. Myself and another were constantly going into the kitchen asking for someone to help us. 7) We had no one available to remove dirty plates when we finished; some our women to include me got up to help remove everyone dirty dishes. It truly was so very frustrating and disappointing. I guess after receiving our final deposit that morning as paid in full, there was little to no incentive to make sure our luncheon was attended to. Beware... you absolutely do not get what you pay for!!! PS: the food was yummy but all that DID NOT happen that SHOULD OF HAPPENED truly did spoil the who luncheon. The 2 star rating is a 100% could of been better with having SOMEONE in charge taking care to make sure our needs were being met.
