We visited the Rustic Brush for the first time as we were looking for something to get us out of the house during Covid. The store owner was spectacular and so warm and welcoming. She assisted us with our projects and made great recommendations for designs and paint colors and our projects look store bought! It was a great afternoon outing and we can't wait to come back!

I went with my girlfriends yesterday to celebrate a birthday. It was my first time and I was a bit nervous. We were the only one group in the shop since it was Thursday. It was raining pretty heavy out and awesome music was going inside. It was such a special evening! And our girl Emily was so helpful and kind. She was professional and sweet at the same time. We all had a wonderful time! Definitely be back in Katy branch.

I had an amazing time with Kim during our couples night visit!! This was my second time coming, and it was amazing both times!!! I will definitely be back for a girls night out!! Love this place!

What a neat experience! This place is cute. I love the way it was decorated. Sophie was our instructor and she was great. Very helpful and very friendly. A few of us made several mistakes along the way and she was great at helping us correct them and get back on track. I didn't think the experience would take a full 3 hours but it did for our group. I came here with a moms group from my church - it was SO much fun! We selected a design from over hundreds to choose from before coming... it was ready to go for us when we arrived - we brought wine, sodas and apps - the steps were easy for beginners but fun for skilled pros as well! You hammer and nail your boards as well as stain and paint your design on... don't worry it's a stencil so your skills don't need to be good! Then while you socialize it drys... I can't wait to go again!

Had a great time at The Rustic Brush! It was really neat putting the wood pieces together, nailing, staining and painting. The owners, Hai and Cyndi, were so nice and helpful. Highly recommend this place. Try it out, you will not be disappointed.

What a GREAT experience! The Rustic Brush is putting a new twist on the old and boring "painting-and-BYOB" concept with an activity that is fun and innovative, involves you in the creative experience from start to finish, leaves you with a product you actually WANT to display in your home, and -MOST IMPORTANTLY- makes you feel like an independent-ass woman who don't need no man! For this activity, you're essentially creating a rustic art piece (choose from sign, doormat, or door hangar) with a stencil/graphic of your choosing. Prices differ depending on the the type and size of the piece of you want to do. Probably the most inviting and exciting part of this whole process is choosing your stencil/graphic... and ooooh baby, does TRB got you covered! Love-themed stencils, adventure/travel-themed stencils, religious-themed stencils, ones for pets, ones for every room in the house... you're bound to find something that calls to you! And if not, you can customize your own graphic for an extra fee. I love that TRB's website sorts everything out into categories, so it's a lot easier to spot something you like. Once you reserve your timeslot, choose your sign, size, and graphic, all you need to do is show up. A few gal-pals and I decided to do Sunday Funday at TRB's new location in Katy today and it was an AWESOME experience! We arrived with snacks 'n dranks (emphasis on the dranks) in tow, and found our materials and stencils prepared and ready for us. The staff members were great at walking us through the process and assisting us whenever we needed something. Unlike painting classes where you have to follow a guide, you can move at your own pace here; the staff will always be around if you get stuck. That said, BIG KUDOS to them for being so patient with us even though we kept scurrying off to eat and take shots in between brush strokes (we were being judged so hard by other patrons for this, haha!). After a few hours (mind you, we were a party of 5), our masterpieces were done. Each of us had signs varying in size, alignment, and colors; some of us did gradient/ombre effects; some threw glitter on it... I love how each piece came out completely original and unique! Overall, it was such a rewarding experience. In between the painting and hammering, you truly find your inner creative badass, and in the end, you get to bring home something original and 100% your own. Unlike painting classes where everyone creates the same boring picture that will probably end up collecting dust in someone's closet, this is a place I can totally see myself coming back to again and again to create unique pieces for my home. I'm already planning on bringing my hubby sometime soon so we can create something for our living room! Anyway... there you have it, folks - time to drop the painting brush and pick up the hammer!

The instructor and her assistant were knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. They explained various tools and let us use a variety of tools through the two days of the class. The Labs have a diverse set of tools and just about everything that a woodworker would need. The fees were the cherry on the top, a bargain Would definitely recommend TXRX

For one; they have an inconsistent firing schedule and a lack of visibility to it at times... additionally, its only one type of firing Cone 5/6.. and the only expertise really available for you here as a beginner is handbuilding either via slab or other Coil/Pinch. There is one wheel, but wheel throwing classes are not available. Additionally, people tend to leave the tools in the sink all the time.... or leave things out...... The community is fine. Wouldn't say there's as much expertise sharing as in other communities; this is a great mostly beginner/intermediate level community. For hand building being the main thing this place has to offer I believe it needs more items that compliment hand building such as, more foam in different shapes, Weight scales, sand paper to level the bottom of an item, drimmels, etc. a lot of items that compliment hand building are missing here...

This Katy Cinco Ranch location is very family oriented and has plenty of space & equipment. I have yet to have any issues with waiting to use equipment even when it is busier. You will find a surplus of treadmills, free weights, squat racks, benches, and more for all your exercise needs. There is also a child care area available for the younger ones. In addition, they also have a gymnasium with multiple side rims, as well as both an indoor and outdoor pool. Other areas available include a stretch room, cycling room, group exercise room, and another smaller weight room. They have plenty of locker/storage space as well, located is some weight rooms, outside the restroom/pool area, and inside the restrooms as well (the ones in the restroom require your own lock). One of the things I love most is they have a water fountain with a filtered water bottle filler so I can bring my empty water bottle from home and fill it with water at the Y for my workout. Another thing I appreciate are the several sanitizing stations for your hands and for wiping down equipment. Overall I'm extremely happy with this Y. The staff are very friendly, they have plenty of parking and allow 3 free guest passes per year (my previous Y made you pay for all guest passes). The only slight negative I've found so far is that they don't provide basketballs for the gymnasium due to people not returning them, which is understandable. Thus, I highly recommend this YMCA!

It seems like they are always holding some sort of event for the community - mainly for seniors. My recent experience here was to early vote in the 2020 Presidential election. The line was all the way out the door and down the sidewalk and across the parking lot as this was the first day of early voting. Parking was a bit tough to find and so I parked in the adjacent Metro Park and Ride lot. The inside of the building was immaculate. I could tell that the staff there takes great pride in keeping it clean and tidy. I was pleased with my experience at this community center and can't wait for all of the various programs to come back so that I may partake in them. Covid has really put a damper on things this year. Kudos to the individuals involved with the Kingwood Community Center and keep up the great work!
