Totonelly, one of the finest medical doctors in the Hudson Valley, with over 30 years of experience. In my first visit to Dr. Totonelly an ultrasound was performed on both my legs which helped to identify damaged veins. I was then very well educated by Dr. Totonelly regarding the varicose vein treatment I was to receive to relieve my vascular problems. I was really happy when my Aetna insurance approved the surgery, called Endovenous Ablation. That surgery was done in the office under local anesthetic and no hospitalization was required. It took approximately 45 minutes per leg, which were surgically repaired with a one week interval between the two surgeries. In both instances I was able to walk without any problems the same day of the respective surgeries. Amazingly, within a couple of weeks after the surgeries I STOPPED FEELING burning and annoying pain in my legs. Dr. Totonelly further advised me about cosmetic Laser spider vein treatment and Sclerotherapy to both legs. I received 4 treatment sessions to address my numerous spider veins. I could not believe it, but the treatments resulted in the complete disappearance of huge brown spots on my legs caused by poor blood circulation. I explored several other local practices- even NYC- but chose The Vein Institute in Fairfield. Entire staff is superb- expertise of Dr. Afshar and Cristina DiMarte PA-C, is unsurpassed. The nurses- especially Alayna, Renee, Amanda explain every procedure and any questions answered, Care is taken at every visit to assure safety and comfort. I had an embolization procedure on my knee here, and for the first two weeks I felt significantly better. The swelling went down and the pain improved tremendously. Unfortunately, the pain has now returned almost exactly as it was before the procedure. I came back to the clinic because I was concerned and expected the doctor who performed the procedure to evaluate the situation and provide some type of plan. An ultrasound showed a significant amount of fluid around my leg, yet I was basically told, "I don't know what else to do," and advised to see my orthopedic doctor. The only treatment suggested was ibuprofen. I explained that I am experiencing significant pain with basic activities such as walking up and down stairs, sitting, and putting on my shoes. I work long hours on my feet, so this is affecting my ability to function normally. What is most frustrating is that after receiving good care initially, I expected proper follow-up when the problem returned. Instead, I left feeling dismissed and without a clear explanation, treatment plan, or meaningful follow-up. A medical procedure should come with appropriate follow-up care, especially when the patient returns with significant symptoms. Unfortunately, I did not feel that I received that level of care today. I hope the clinic takes this feedback seriously, because patients deserve to feel heard, evaluated, and properly cared for after a procedure.

Horrible place!!! Made me wait FOREVER and then the "medical assistants" didn't even speak English…read more I also saw an IV bag hanging there that was partially used, so I was wondering if they were using that same one (with the same tubing) for the next patient. The thought of that made me SICK!!! I ran out of there because all of these issues gave me a panic attack, and they started calling me to try and convince me to come back. They obviously have PLENTY of business, but they are so greedy that they didn't want to lose ONE client. This place is BAD NEWS!!! RUN the other way!!!
