    Half Order Biscuits and Gravy

Restaurant is small. Has a mom and pop feel. They have an adequate menu. Prices are also fair. Servers are nice, busy. They only have limited amount of drink choices...Coke, Sprite, Diet Coke, lemonade, and water. Food taste is ok. Nothing fancy... kinda bland..I had to add salt and pepper, gravy is a mix, not homemade. Biscuits are not homemade. Not too bad, not great.. it's ok. My grade is a C.

My daughter and myself were taking a mini vacay and staying in holts summit so we visited here both mornings for breakfast before exploring Jeff city & Columbia. The food is great, it comes out pretty fast & Service was just as good but I think I prefer sitting at the counter vs a table to be honest. We will definitely be back next time we visit!

Best pancakes in all of Jefferson City. Classic diner atmosphere, good coffee, and prices that won't break the bank.

Good traditional diner food. My favorite lunch place. My usual is the bacon cheeseburger with a cup of chili.

We looked over the menu and saw they had sweet tea. More on that in a moment. That's important for Bama Boys. The menu is pretty simple with pulled pork, wings, and burgers. I went with a full order of wings. 10 wings were $20. I thought that was pretty high though they were terrific! I chose them to be naked and had DAT Honey, Spicy BBQ, and Sweet and Spicy on the side. DAT Honey was a superb sauce especially mixed with the homemade ranch. The other 2 sauces were good too. Now back to the sweet tea. As I came in thinking I was going to get a fresh-brewed homemade sweet tea turned out to be purchasing a bottle of that abomination of sweet tea known as Gold Peak. It was comical how fast I told the guy at the register I would rather take a water. Then I receive a bottled water from Sam's. The owner did throw in a cookie for me to offset the price. But I wasn't impressed with the drink options. The service was good though! I really debated between a 3 and a 4 rating but the most important thing to me about a restaurant is making sure my food tastes amazing. JQ's delivered on that and plus the service was friendly and fantastic. I didn't like the price of 10 wings or the drink options but if you don't mind that, JQ's is a solid lunch spot.

And I loved the cranberry pecan salad we had as a starter, which made me really hopeful for the meal itself. But beyond that our experience was so disappointing. We got the lobster ravioli and the zesty pasta. I appreciated the ample veggies included with my meal, but the food was overall so bland I could have made it better at home, and that is saying something. The ambiance wasn't great, and I was overheated the entire time, to the point I was eager to leave just because it was so hot. I like to take my time with a meal, and it's a bad sign if I want to rush out of there. We probably would have stayed for more drinks but like I say, we were simply eager to leave. We wont be back unfortunately.

Our food came out and it was cold. Not lukewarm just straight cold. Told the manager. They reheated it back up. The same chicken. I was told they prepared it fresh. Well she didn't see the pieces of chicken that we had cut. In the same position. They 100% simply just reheated the meal in a microwave. It wasn't good. We were lied to. And unfortunately. The town is catching on and staff moral was incredibly low. A few of the other tables by us also had complaints. Won't ride the coattails of the old owners much longer. Don't trust me?
