Very nice paintball field with lots of maps to play on and lots of shade to relax under while you get ready. All staff we've dealt with has been very helpful. I've booked private parties for my co workers and I in the past 2-3 months and have had lots of fun. All rules were clearly stated to us before the games started and all equipment was handed out in a timely manner. The staff is very patient when dealing with new players and help where they can. I'd recommend setting up a party with your friends & family but open play on Saturday/Sunday are really fun as well! read more

I'd like to thank the staff here for being extremely considerate on Saturday (5/31). There was a road closure due to a bad accident. The Sheriff informed us that it would be a few hours before the road open up again because of debris. We had my grandson 13 Birthday party there on Saturday and it was such a good idea Victor was our host and he did such an amazing job the boys had a lot of fun there was so many different obstacles in the areas for them to get to go and play games at. They really liked it the weather was perfect not to hot or cold. They provide you with the two table and close birthday area for the party along with two VIP parking places and went off to the side which was perfect. We couldn't ask for a better house, Victor. The only downfall is the Porta potty's were really dirty. And it was first thing in the morning so they obviously weren't cleaned from the day before we were the first group so I highly recommend not using them. Lol. They had a Mexican food truck, which is awesome. They just need a little bit more choices on drinks. They only offer orange Sunkist and pineapple. We ordered pizza from Domino's which they delivered so that worked out but all in all I would give them five stars. read more

If you are looking for a good time paintballing, velocity is for you. The team that works there is very efficient and friendly. They have clean portable bathrooms and a few sinks right outside. Plenty of trash cans and tables to sit at with shade. I have booked a few private groups here and it's been a blast every time. They have plenty of fields to play on, from woods ball to hyper ball and even a professional field for the pros. The price in my opinion for self equipped players are on par with most parks around the area. They also rent out equipment. They have a food truck that is there from when the park opens to when it closed, they have decent food and drinks. The park is very well maintained and there is plenty of parking. Velocity also has a retail store in Kearny mesa which also service markers and sell gear. My recent visit 1/18/2025 I have learned that velocity requires you to use their field paint if you want to play at their park. I have no issues supporting the establishment that I am playing at, as I know it's not cheap to upkeep and you have to pay employees and keep the doors open. I have ALWAYS purchased my paintballs from velocity retail store when I was going to play at velocity. But the field paint by G.I sports is HORRIBLE paint. It's labeled as a 3 star and underperforms. Very inconsistent and not evenly round. Shot the paint through 2 different high end markers and even bored the paint to match the barrel each time and the accuracy is not there. For $60 for 2000 rounds or $20 for a bag of 500 rounds you guys are charging borderline high end paintball prices for low end paintballs. Please switch vendors, it is no fun using poor quality paintballs for top dollar prices. Went paintballing for the first time and it was such a great experience staff was nice and I got to learn the ropes A++ would recommend

This is my first time going paint balling and thanks to Velocity Paintball Park it will more than likely be my last. I was so exited to try this new activity with my friend group but unfortunately it was ruined due to terrible management practices (from the guy in the picture). The rest of the staff behaved respectful but the management did not which is odd since they are supposed to set the example for the rest of the employees working there. As a Mexican who was dealt with discrimination my entire life, this is one of the numerous amount of times where I and my group have felt discriminated and embarrassed in front of a group of 40+ people. Management purposely singled my group out due to the color of our skin while only checking our gear and not the rest of the 40 people in the group that were ready to play paint ball. If the issue was so big about our gear how come he didn't ask everyone else in the group of 40 for their gear and only our Mexican party?? If Velocity Paint Ball Park was really concerned with their profits involving their paint ball ammunition, management should have checked the whole party going into the game and not just our group, it is truly ridiculous. My problem does not involve the ridiculous cost of 1 bag of paint balls for $20, my issue involves the manager in the picture posted. When he confronted us he tried to establish his "power" while singling us out due to our ethnicity, being a smart ass and showing terrible management etiquette. If you or your party plan to attend this venue, I strongly suggest you spend your hard earned money at another paint ball park and not this one, I hope this reaches lots of people and helps them save them selves their money and a headache. ------------------- (Updated After Owners Response) First of all Denise, It would be nice if you got your facts straight and stopped lying through your teeth. If we were asked to leave they would have said that throughout the multiple conversations we had with different staff members and third of all if that was the case the 2 cops you called on the other individual would have talked to us when they were 5 feet away from us. So no, we were not asked to leave, we were just told we couldn't play unless we used your paintballs. So there are the facts, I assume you were not there since we didn't see you around. You don't have to worry about us coming back because we don't give our hard earned money to racist and shitty establishments like yours. I booked a private group for friends and family over the Presidents Day Weekend and everyone had a great time! Jacob was our ref and did a stellar job taking care of our group! We got in a lot of games during our 3 hour slot and he kept things interesting with elimination games and capture the flag. I used to live up in LA where I got to experience a lot of different paintball parks over the years from SC Village, Jungle Island, Tombstone, Warped, Ambush, etc. The last time I had played at Velocity was back in 2002, when they hosted the Best In The West Tournament Series. Our team won the series championship that year and I had enjoyed my experience playing at Velocity. However, I never got a chance to play there again since living in LA it was just a little too far away and there were so many other great paintball fields nearby. Fast forward to the last few years and I'm now living in San Diego. So when I got the urge to play paintball again after a long hiatus I knew I had to give Velocity another go. I was organizing a private group of newbies so I wanted to make sure everyone had a really good first time experience. Of all the paintball parks in the San Diego area, Velocity had the best value for money for a private group of 10, most interesting variety of fields, options for upgrading guns, very well organized, and good customer service. I emailed Denise multiple times while trying to set up this event and peppering her with questions. She was always quick to respond and answered all my questions. Their online booking and reservation system was fairly straightforward and their online waiver and tracking system was a nice plus. Presidents Day Weekend was a busy one for Velocity. We booked the very last available private group slot on Sat. however we still got all the attention we needed during our session. On the morning of game day Denise greeted all the cars as they drove in and directed them where to go. They had two shaded picnic tables reserved for our group which was nice. Jacob came over and introduced himself as our ref for the day. Jacob is a real gem. He was super friendly, helpful and attentive through our entire session. Since we were a private group he was flexible on how we wanted to play our games. At one point, I wanted to break the group up into 1vs1s so everyone could practice shooting and working their bunkers. Jacob let us have at it and kept track of time. He was always making sure we got in as many games as we were willing to play so there was no sitting around / down time. By the end of our session, everyone in the group had so much fun they wanted to go again. As for me, it was awesome to share with friends who had very little experience with paintball. Apparently you have to exclusively buy their paint to use the air, which is different from everywhere else. Had a party of 12 here a few days ago. So far everything worked as it should. The rental Emek's were nice to play with instead of your normal heavy and unshootable rentals. Fields were pretty well laid out but there were some maps that had some side advantages, but what field doesn't have that issue. My only complaint was the $80 paint. I am not complaining about the price but rather the quality. The paint was like rubber, it was impossible to break it with your fingers and did not have consistent breaks when throwing it onto the floor/concrete. We still had fun and our group now has some nasty welts and bruises to show for the poor quality paint. read more

I haven't actually played paintball here, but I attended a socially distanced business meeting here recently to learn more about their offerings. The owners are super passionate about what they do and put forth a lot of effort to make adaptations to make this an ideal family sport during COVID-19. I was there on a somewhat warm day and was pleasantly surprised that such a nice breeze came through. We had 14 guys here for a bachelor party... At least 6 or 7 of our guns jammed over multiple rounds, causing us to miss the round. They replaced the guns but we missed 10-15 mins of gameplay. I've been playing paintball most of my life. Well over 24 years. I've played multiple fields all over the United States and beyond. I've played here since 2013. Really good piece of land. Lots of room for improvement / modifications to the maps that are existing and making new ones. Good safety rules, field rules and high desire to spin games around and get their customers to shoot paint and play as much as possible. You went home tired and were sure to have a lot of fun. Fast forward to 2024. The pandemic and covid has chilled out. I've gotten older and took a few years off the game to have fun at other hobbies. The field has changed. For the better. I can't recall if it was Field Paint Only but it is now. The buildings, netting, containment, signs, parking lot, and even chronographs have all vastly improved. Here is a breakdown. Safety - First and foremost priority of every paintball field. This course has. it. down. They chrono you in once a day. Not bad but, people know how to adjust velocity and wanna shoot further. Check them everytime they leave and enter the net. It keeps people honest and any obvious increases can be served with a warning and more if need be. Setting - Fields are well manicured for the most part. Obstacles are pretty robust. It's a great piece of land and it's well taken care of. There is a ton of safety netting. Pricing - I can't speak too well of this because I have been out of the game a little while but, prices haven't seemed to increase much if any at all. Not bad for the inflationary period we are living through. Field Paint - I didn't have any problem with the paint I bought. A little thick in the shell and bouncy but, it's meant for recreation and to go through some of the older markers that run higher pressure. Staging Area - Well taken care of. New structures all over. Clean. Referees - It's hard to write about this when refs aren't players themselves. You get an slight sense of some not caring and unable to answer your questions. But, having ran reffing crews in the past, sometimes, players aren't the best to be organizing the game. Side Notes- 1. Field Paint Only - I'm glad to see this. This invests profits back into the field. The reason it's still up and running and in as good a shape it is now should be in part due to this. 2. Referee Attitudes - I have read that they're rude? Didn't get any of that. If you think one of them is talking negatively to you, bring it up to their boss, Denise. Talk to people how you want to be talked to and it should be alright. 3. Management - It's got passion. It want's this place to succeed. It's is stern but, fair. Definitely have had a few disagreements with them but, their field, their rules. read more

A 5 star review for a 5 star park. After visiting this park 3 times and comparing it to other parks in the area (such as Giant Paintball Park), I can confidently say this is the best park down here. They are extremely strict about enforcing the 400fps limit. The refs are extremely respectful and considerate to anyone's concerns, and they make sure everyone knows whats going on. If you feel someone is using a gun over 400fps, they will go and double check with the individual. I especially like how they give everyone three separate heads up before a game is about to start. I took my son for his 10th birthday along with his cousins. Let me start by saying that everyone will have fun regardless of age. I got the private party for 10 and they set us up with Kyle who was in charge of leading us from field to field and provided us with all the proper equipment. He was very professional but also made sure everyone was having fun all while being safe. It was definitely worth it and I would recommend anyone who is new to paintball or air soft to try it out - i strongly suggest trying low impact paintballing first. Wow you want to keep business in Ramona but why come here when price gouging is so obvious. My kids have been coming here in groups of 4-8 players for years and each time it becomes more and more expensive. I get it that prices go up but the fact that you kicked my kids out of the park because they purchased paintballs from Amazon instead of purchasing your paintballs at 3x the price. Not only did they pay $65 per person to play but now you force people to pay an incredibly inflated price on paintballs. Not even a warning you kick them out with no refund. We paid about $400 to play two 8 minute games to then kick them out and threaten to call the cops for trespassing. This park was awesome! We took a group of 25 teenagers for a class activity. Alex and Roger were phenomenal refs and the different fields were great. We even had a kid lose their phone and Alex went running around the courses to find it. I would recommend this park to anyone looking for an awesome experience. read more

I don't like this place simply cause you can't bring your own paint and you have to be a member in order to buy boxes at the park if not you have to buy a 20 dollar bag that comes with 500 bullets I had to buy 10 which cost me 210$ than we gotta wait 30 minutes for a game to startwhat a joke they need to improve and do better like ASG (Action Star Games) the only good thing about velocity is the benches to rest read more

Terrible management. Velocity has a store in Mira Mesa where they sell paintballs, but you can't use those same paintballs at their actual park? And then customers rightfully get agitated so they get WRONGFULLY accused of "attempting to assault" a manager. They didn't kick the customers out but replied to a review on Yelp requesting for the customers to not come back a joke of a paintball park. The owners need to fix things. Checked out Velocity for the first time Saturday for a private group birthday party. The facility overall is well kept, offers plenty of parking, seating, and shade. The lady at the counter talking the money was rude, but the rest of the referees were really cool and helpful. They make it fun while keeping it safe. Being a former tournament player, I'm use to speedball air bunkers, but Velocity set up really cool rec ball fields from cut down trees. We have a bachelor party of guys in San Diego that came from the east coast, and called in at 10:30 am they said they are open and paintball is available from 11am to 5pm, we let them know that we would be coming in to paintball.... It was a 1 hour drive from where we were in San Diego... we arrived at approximately 1:30 pm! The gates were closed and when we called back they said we came 3 hours later so they sent everyone home!
