My medical issue was diagnosed accurately and promptly and the recommended treatment thoroughly explained in an unhurried manner. In all, I was in and out within an hour. I would not hesitate to be seen at this facility in the future and would highly recommend it to my friends and family.

They were unable to give me any prices, they dont have any fee schedule. I asked for an approximate of a regular doctor's consultation. All they said, basically, was bring $60 and we bill you the rest! This should not be even be legal! So, basically they assume I will have whatever money they feel like charging me afterwards and of course if I do not they will send me to collections (typical). So it could be hundreds or thousands of dollars and I will not know until they bill me? I work at a dental office and when patients call we tell them the price for a consultation, the x rays, teeth cleaning, Etc. In that way the patient can freely decide if they can afford and want to go to our office or they prefer to go to a more affordable one for them . The Sentara system sounds very abusive to me. How can they take advantage of a sick patient? So unethical!!!

This is the busiest Patient First in Virginia Beach, so expect to have challenges finding parking and you will wait over an hour for a provider. The staff was all great on check ins, vitsls and X-rays.. The doctor and PA both top notch. This is where I find they deserve a four stars. I would honestly recommend another location if you cannot even find parking.

He waits and a nurse takes him to the nursing station for vitals and he also tells her he's there for a physical. He gets brought to a room and waits for the physician who comes in and my husband hands him the physical form his work provided him. He told my husband the form is "too thorough" and says he needs to ask another doctor so he steps out. He comes back and tells my husband that this physical is too thorough and my husband was like " that's fine can I just have the physical that you all provide and I'll just submit that to my work" .. the doctor says "well I've already discharged you so you'll have to pay again and go back through" !!!!!!?????? Are you kidding me?! Why would you discharge him before coming back into the room to speak with him? And then you want to charge him again to do what he was already on the table to do in the first place!?! Yall, I cannot make this crap up. Please avoid this place!

On this visit, I went in with fever & stomach pain, they tested me for the flu, which I surprisingly had. They didn't examine me and rushed me out the door with unreadable patient instructions due to low ink in their printer. (Seriously, the printer at the front desk worked fine, so just print them again.) Also, I had to go back in and ask a question after I left, because they rushed me out so quickly. Comparing this to a visit years back at Patient First, it was inadequate. Patient First examined me thoroughly. They took my blood, did a breathing treatment, etc. If you're looking for convenience and a quick test, this is your place. If you want a proper thorough examination, this place likely isn't for you. I hope AFC reads this, takes it to heart and makes improvements.

There weren't to many people inside. After i sat down everybody and their mama showed up. So it was perfect timing. The nurse i had was very nice. We chatted and she helped me get checked in for the Dr. She also took my xrays. The Dr. was nice but i don't feel she was listening to what i was saying. I was passing kidney stones, so i was in horrible pain. Kidney stones are no joke. It felt like giving birth. I needed help. The doctor was gonna send me home with motrin 600mg so i asked for a shot of toradol, because she wasn't willing to give me anything else. I absolutely understand people are abusing pain killers, but they should deal with each patient accordingly. I took the shot in hopes that it would take the edge off. It did help for about an 3 hours, but after it wore off i went another few days in severe pain waiting to be seen by my family doctor. I went to urgent care to avoid paying the high emergency room fees. It was a waste of money because i feel i should've been given something to help me pass it and a pain killer of some sort. Other than that. The office was clean and the staff was nice. People don't come to urgent care to be given motrin. I'd recommend going to the E.R if your in serious pain because you won't get far at these kinds of places. If its something basic this is a better option to avoid long waits at the E.R. I also recommend wearing a mask. People were coughing and no one in the waiting room was wearing mask. So definitely protect yourself when waiting. All in all it could have been a better experience, but it wasn't the worst. I'd probably return if its for a cold or something minor.
